Depending on where your leader lands, the quarterly approval numbers on premiers across Canada can either have you popping champagne bottles or reaching for Pepto Bismol.
Alberta’s Rachel Notley and Ontario’s Doug Ford may want to reach for the pink stuff.
The latest survey of approval ratings for premiers from DART Insight has Saskatchewan’s Scott Moe riding high, Notley getting a bump in time for the election that was just called and Ford sitting below the unpopular Notley.

“…and Ford sitting below the unpopular Notley.”
Then Double-cross Doug is exactly where he should be.
He was supposed to cancel all the windmill contracts – he didn’t.
He is appealing a court decision that put some long overdue restrictions on the Ontario SPCA.
He is sticking with McGuinty/Wynne legislation that removes municipalities’ ability to say no to things like windmills.
And he gave the only true conservative in his caucus, Randy Hiller, the toss.
If that is so I would agree with you.
Has he been confronted with these issues and asked why he is sticking with them? Is there a Hiller issue or a Tanya issue that you or we are not aware of? Just asking because I like Doug Ford, although I am in Saskatchewan and may have missed some issues about him.
“Has he been confronted with these issues and asked why he is sticking with them? ”
Well, he certainly hasn’t been confronted by anyone in his caucus, Ken. And he damned well won’t be confronted by the press – so that’s why he’ll stick with those decisions. And he hasn’t (and won’t) reply to emails from me and my friends on these issues.
Ford showed his true colours during the latter stages of the campaign: the subsidized eco-parasites went into full howl after he said that some limited development should be allowed within the GTA Greenbelt, and within 24 hours he did a complete reversal.
CONservatists will CON.
at least he pushed wynnedfarm off the cliff. with her help !!!
and then there’s the little ‘political hay’ thing about trying to subvert the OPP commish appointment process.
or however one needs to correctly phrase it.
hello zebra, can I check out your unchanging stripes?
they ALL do it ALL the time.
Jamie…I had no Idea..! Thanx for sharing that … Dbl Cross indeed.
When I see and hear crap like this, it simply hardens my resolve to see the WEST gone – out from under the FIlthy ROTTEN Slimy Corrupt influence and direction from Anything that crawls from under a Rock EAST of the Ont Mb border.
Simply wow….Although I see the Filth Party (NDP-Communists-Globalists-Liberals), are in full SCREW Doug Ford Mode. One wonders how much influence they still have. (Ont Civil Service – Unions etc)…Lots I feel, along with a Massive Social Media Presence.
Nutley is about as popular as a pork sandwich at a Jewish Wedding. The poll is a lie.
Not that I’m his biggest fan but Doug Ford could be the second coming of the Lord and he would be unpopular. The media machine has turned against him and unlike the US and Trump, here in Liberania, there is not even a semblance of something like Fox News to sort of get the truth out. On the other hand, Ford could be Satan himself and be waaay better then Wynne.
It’s interesting how the media kinda works as reverse psychology for some. The PM could suddenly get outed as a serial killer and you people would start praising him once CBC turns on him. I wholeheartedly agree with the Wynne part though.
Look at the company Dart that created this article.
A collective of some of the most experienced and senior practitioners in the country—and beyond—brought together to custom fit our client’s needs. They’re at the top of their game and have worked with each other, in most cases, for decades. Many are household names. All are recognized leaders in their respective fields.
In today’s nanosecond, social media environment, you never get a second chance to make a first impression. Never. No matter what you do or where you do it, the pressure to be pinpoint accurate has never been more immediate. It’s never been more crucial to be on message. Or effective. We understand that because every member of our team has lived it. We bring a pound of experience for every ounce of challenge we come to deal with.

On point, on target is Dart motto
Yeah I would trust whatever they say as fake news… I trust them as much as I trust any poll which I don’t period.
Doug Ford sowed the seeds of a one term wonder when he canned Tanya! Showed he was just a squishier conservative
So “all options (expect separation, or actually fighting in anyway) are on the table” Scott Moe is popular you say. Proof positive that Saskatchewan, like the Notely voting Alberta, is majority stupid.
Moe ain’t gonna stop any carbon taxes.
Moe ain’t gonna get no pipelines built.
Moe ain’t gonna stop building unreliable power generation.
Moe ain’t gonna build reliable nuclear.
Moe ain’t willing to break the same laws Horgan and Trudeau are.
Moe ain’t never gonna actually put Saskatchewan first.
Moe ain’t never gonna hold a referendum on separation.
The “Saskatchewan Party” is just another “Screw the West, we’ll take the rest” party. Congratulations on all the money you donors have sent them.
Thank you for not using ALL-CAPS.
Kevin I am with you. Moe ain’t going to make any moves to correct the decline. He is just going to hang around and put in his time. He supports the corrupt federal government, he does a lot of phony virtue signaling and he wasted billions on his made in Saskatchewan carbon tax.
I like Moe. He is going to what he can that is within the law, but is no fire breathing conservative radical.
I like Moe also. He will continue to govern responsibly while the big government unions piss away their members’ dues on “Where Did The Money Go?” and “Stop The Cuts” billboards. Note to the provincial NDP: This kind of negative, fear-mongering crap hasn’t worked for over a decade and it sure as hell doesn’t fly now.
Before cashing out I was responsible many surveys and polls in my corporate career (with The Coca-Cola Co. and other Fortune 500s) and I assure you that polls can be easily engineered to deliver whatever ‘snap shot’ you want. What makes THIS poll look so suspicious to me is 2 results that seem defy “our own lyin’ eyes” >>> Notley UP and Ford DOWN. Who would ‘want’ such a result? ….. Liberals and Dippers, that’s who.
Now, look at this methodology: “Conducted online from March 8-14, the survey sought the opinions of 5,450 randomly-selected Canadian adults who are members of Maru/Blue’s Online panel.”
So, it’s an ONLINE poll, with a standing “brand usage” panel made up of ‘randomly selected Canadian adults’ which are NOT NECESSARILY “likely – or legal – voters”. Such surveys are great for ‘what coffee do you drink?’ or ‘what shampoo do you use?’ etc. but NOT for political polling …because most brand sales are concentrated where most people live = BIG CITIES, but political results require legal voters, who are spread across an entire province in many districts, INCLUDING DISTRICTS WITH LOW POPULATION DENSITY.
In summary, what I’m saying is >>> knowing that ACCURATE surveys / polls are dependent on using the right methodology, I assure you that THIS survey is using a quick & dirty LAZY way to ‘take a snapshot’ as an excuse to spread FAKE NEWS (likely designed to boost Alberta NDP morale) but it is most assuredly NOT an accurate snapshot. In the REAL world of the entire province of AB among likely & legal voters Notley is NOT up, and in the entire province of ON among likely & legal voters Ford is NOT down, because this poll is heavily skewed to major urban areas and includes many NON-voters. But it has served it’s purpose of providing something to wrap around the ads before being used to line the bottom of the canary’s cage.
Exactly. Polls are like statistics. They can be manipulated to reflect a particular result, the denigration of a person, or the skewing of public opinion. Often, the questions are framed that no matter how you answer you give the pollster the result he wants.
I have to agree with you. I would make a wager that the dipper whore ends up with no more than 24% of the popular vote. No one I have spoken to, male or female, will vote for her. Any poll that claims she has 34% support is BS. Actually on second thought, I shouldn’t call her a whore. That’s disrespectful to whores. Pimp would be a better description.
I once suggested waaaaaay back in bill davis days that politishuns could very well commission umpteen polls, all done according to strict random processes, double blind wtf ever.
and wait until they got one that matched their agenda. then publish and announce THAT one.
cynical? gee, why would that be? hmmmm?
no one at the time or since EVER disputed the theory that it *could* be done, some claiming of course that *I* was claiming it had *actually* been done, willfully ignoring the main point of course. it was usual hard core CONservatists that went that route.
‘yawell yawell yawell PROOOOOOOVE it’ they would screech.
I would then sarcastically inquire if I had struck a nerve and watch them go ballistic.
Doug Ford may not have done all that you want, or been as “pure” as you would like, but he has also been the subject of a 24/7 vilification by the media and leftie-approved social media.
What would his numbers be like if we had a Fox news to report from a realistic perspective?
I seem to recall great cheering on this site upon his actions when first elected.
I’m in Ontario, and I tell you Ford is a fool. It’s not a matter of purity. He’s just a stupid man. I’m active in Conservative circles. I’ve met him, spoken to him. He’s a fool. A rock could have been elected Premier after Wynne was done with it. The way he is going, this is a one term government, and we return back to Liberal misrule.
It appears there’s a lot of fools in Ontario.
Say what you want about Red Rachael, her policies are wrong, the ndp’s been a disaster for Alberta, whatever the issue is, but one thing no one is saying is that notley herself is stupid. She is very smart. Not to be under estimated.
I think people recognize that in her and that is why she personally polls above the ndp.
Notley is deceitful. No mention of a carbon tax last time. Does not mention (yet) any new tax increases, but rest assured they will be coming, along with a big rise in electricity costs.
If she is re-elected I predict she will:
a) raise the carbon tax
b) raise business taxes
c) raise income tax
d) implement an inheritance tax
e) implement a wealth tax
f) implement a gas guzzler tax on SUVs and pickups
Not sure but I could also see Notley doing the following:
g) nationalizing pension plans or at least taxing them to spread out the wealth
h) ban all hydraulic fracturing
i) ban the use of fossil fuels to heat new homes
Sales tax first.
Perhaps she’ll bring in a sales tax. More likely is Notley will raise the carbon tax which is essentially a sales tax. But she gets to say see no sales tax.
The poll’s methodology isn’t good. That being said, Ford is not a clever man. I even like a bunch of what he’s doing but he’s not doing it nearly enough. He also does dumb stuff like throwing money at pointless crime crackdowns.
