Sorry to keep hammering this point but Rule of Law is a major pillar of Western Civilization and the major factor in the success of free (“capitalist”) countries. It is a major target for progressive (“communist”) revolutionaries and that’s why they prattle on about “social justice” and “social licence”, because the existing justice and licence systems are unjust, flawed, inadequate… so you see these kinds of eff-ups from the left, gross violations of the law that they somehow rationalize as being for the greater good to achieve their noble objectives, so you have crimes like this Cortex money scam, Trudeau’s criminal interventions into the justice system, the congresswoman who married her brother to get him into the USA, the Clintons’ entire life focus (achieve private jet status)… keep watching for these, it’s a fun sideshow, the left gets to skate out of these a lot too, it’s becoming like the Rule of Law is optional and unevenly applied. Note Victor Davis Hanson’s observations on US cops in some (“sanctuary”) jurisdictions only pursuing those who have money to pay the fines.
In the comments Gov Jay writes that AOC spent $3143 per month over a period of 20 months for transportation. That’s $62,860. Could that total partially include her clothing expenses?
Have you ever noticed her apparel? Others too, have remarked about her style. She wears nice stuff. It all looks very business-like classy, costly, of the highest quality and fits her like a glove, as they say. Haven’t been able to get a glimpse of accessories yet. What bothers me is that she never seems to wear the same thing twice. Funny that.
Unfortunately for sane people, if this develops into a scandal it might be just what the Democrat establishment can use to get rid of her. She is a gift to Republicans and is an unfolding embarrassment to the Left. I’d hate to see her go, really.
Watching AOC reminds me of those SNL 70’s skits where Al Franken would stare at the camera and implore everyone to help “BUY ME, AL FRANKEN, A NEW VOLKSWAGEN RABBIT” with his name flashing on the screen above his head every time he said it. She’s perfectly ok with looking pathetic and hypocritical. After all she’s doing it to save the World from everyone else. Now if someone would only give her more hemp shopping bags then she wouldn’t have to resort to using evil imperialistic plastic ones. Even better if people could carry her bags they could make sure that nothing like plastic ever accidentally touches her fingers again…except for all those bottomless global elite member credit cards.
So, in another post I clicked on a link that took me to AOC’s twitter, What immediately struck me was that, on her twitter, for which I assume she at least curated her portraits herself, she still manages to make as her avatar one of her crazy-eyed photos. Are there any other kind? I mean, from the first time I ever heard of her, all I saw was the crazy eyes, generically, and then the crazy eyes of the ideologue. It hasn’t gotten any better since her election.
