  1. to the people who want to pay a carbon tax, why not just send a check a box to the government for $5000 or $10000. Trust me this will stop the climate from changing. It will also let Justin fly more often and buy more costumes.

      1. The poll is now 70% “no”, as of 6:30 pm Eastern, Tuesday, Oct. 30. One has to scroll down a bit, and it’s on the right.

  2. It is depressing to think that ~33% of those responding to the poll think a carbon tax is a good idea.

Damn but some people are stupid.

    1. 33% could actually close to the number of people that already get some form of tax credit when they fill out their T1 and think they will get an even bigger cheque from this. The fact that everything they buy will be more expensive is beyond their feeble comprehension, otherwise they would probably not be eligible for the credit because they’d be bright enough to have a better job.

    2. “But the government would never lie to us, would they?” Uh……..

    3. remember the libs got a majority with 39.42% of 63% of the voters. the numbers are just about right.

  3. “The federal government will return 90 per cent of all the money it collects from a carbon price directly to the Canadians…Officials say 70 per cent of people in those provinces [forced to pay federal carbon tax] will get back more than they end up paying out as fuel costs rise to incorporate the carbon tax.”

A likely story. The carbon tax will only be profitable for the Libranos and their Chinese business partners. Anything else would defeat the purpose of the tax.

  4. So this brilliant plan will bring even more high income union employees to vote Liberal next year and keep these gray area progressive-lites from casting their lot for the CPC? Notice how this idea came out AFTER pot legalization? The power of blue smoke on a progressive mind is something to behold…

  5. I hope Justeen goes ahead and shoves his carbone tax down the throats of the provinces who are resisting. That should move more vote out of his reach. The twit is and idiot and puppet.

  6. I went to vote no and a message came up saying I had already voted. I hadn’t.

Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.

  7. Just voted on 2 devices….on the main one. 5:10 PM Calgary
    3521 Votes

    1036 Y (29%)
    2485 N (71%)

Keep it going…. Gotta love Martins Comment. Brillaint and oh so true. 1036 Morons too stupid to realize this is not simply another “Gasoline” Tax…it is a Tax on EVERYTHING made from or Transported by Oil & Nat GAS. They can buy 5 extra tankfuls with their paltry rebates as they pay 10X on everything else.

But as we all know, STUPID is non Repairable, ever….
Just look at Justin for an EXCELLENT Example

  8. Upon Edit….I do like Martins comment…but love GREGS. That was what I was referring to…My bad.

    1. None of those.
The options assume we are all stupid enough to believe the government can ‘fix’ the climate.

      1. I agree with “None of the above” because the poll is based on the fallacy that “climate change” is man-made.

      2. Astonishing isn’t it… people actually believe in the fairy tale that taxes gives Sock Retard the ability to control the climate.

  9. They lied through their teeth in the 2015 election and they will do it again, and the unethical media will back them again.

Truth and facts don’t matter; power does. That and progressive talking over points to silence dissenting opinions.

  10. Those who say they’re willing to pay the tax probably won’t be when it comes time to pay up. Just like the large percentage of shoppers who say they’re willing to pay more for organic produce, but the sales figures reveal that when it comes time to buy, most of them opt for the cheaper food.

What they’re really in favor of is someone else paying a carbon tax.

  11. Anyone here have the time to make a Twitter thread (account) or similar notification system to help common sense results on such polls?

  12. I had an exchange with a leftist today who was a complete empty vessel. She had no ability to think for herself.
I asked her what concentration of CO2 was the right amount and she said that she didn’t know if any amount was good for us.
These people have no ability to look for facts on their own.
If Saint Suzuki or Gore don’t preach it from their sea side citadels, they simply don’t need to know about it.
    Amazing.

  13. Now a 72% no @ 9:35 MT time. Although I find it difficult to understand why. It’s a tax on absolutely nothing based entirely on junk science to solve non existing problems. So , really, ……. what’s not to like ??

  14. I’ve posted before over the years. I’m a geologist, so that’s my backing….the study of the earth.
The War on Carbon is a war on humans, by certain humans to roll the planet back to prehistoric times. A few people with them “The Guardians of Earth” with few tools left to them to actually be Guardians in any effective way. Our elites think that doing that will restore “balance” to the environment & climate, when it is all too true that “balance” barely survives on this planet. Earth is “dynamic” …..until it isn’t. It’s been that way for 4.5 billion years & will never change (at least at the hand of man), there are bigger forces at work here than what we puny humans can affect in the nature of changing the natural Order of Things, pertaining to Earth.
Balance will occur when the Sun goes Nova some 5+ billion years from now when the sun finally burns out. It’s defined by mass & physics, so unlike “gender issues” that seem to flux….physics rules on this domain. It’s already written into the script for Earth & this solar system. We will be long gone by then & like “climate change” impotent to alter the reality of that fact. Our best bet (because a large chunk of space junk will put the end of times to us, before anything else ever will, unless some dickhead decides to light off a barrage of nuclear tipped missiles to do the dirty deed, to settle some scores) is to learn how to exit Earth to other realms of the Universe.
These luddite, elitist, egotistical filth should be burned at the stake for their planned crimes against humanity.

  15. For what it’s worth, I am an economist and will undertake Access to Information requests to obtain the background data and analytical work on the new carbon tax. The political debate, however, is how effective the $270+ bribe will be to voters.

  16. New poll showing up for the Calgary Sun now: https://calgarysun.com/

The questions are much more clear and less biased in wording than for the CTV Atlantic Region poll. 89.53% say “They shouldn’t be collecting the carbon tax in the first place”.
