  1. it is amazing what cam happen when you don’t have a whoos in the Whitehouse.

  2. CNN and MSNBC and CBC must be just hating all of this.
He’s getting more done in a month than Obama ever achieved in his entire eight years.
And just what do we think the Democrat possibilities are for more Congress seats in November now?

    1. Slim to none, if the election is actually free and fair, i.e. the illegals paid to vote ten or twenty times for the Democrats are too frightened to show up at all.

    2. “And just what do we think the Democrat possibilities are for more Congress seats in November now?”

Pretty much 100% with a strong probability they take the House. They have a generic ballot lead of over 7% according to 538.com

      1. … yawwwwn … and SHE had a 97% chance of beating the JOKE candidacy of Donald J. Trump. That Donald Trump had … NO … pathway to electoral college victory due to the “Blue Firewall” States.

But please DO persist in your delusionary election strategy

  3. These “concessions” require the US to eliminate all farm subsidies and tariffs on light trucks.
It would be better described as “calling Trump’s bluff” and Trump folded.
Trump was desperate for an end to the impasse because the retaliation was hurting is base.

    1. Tim, where did you see that?…..even the EU is reporting “work towards” zero tariffs….no details like you said

      More
We agreed today to work together toward zero tariffs, zero non-tariff barriers, and zero subsidies on non-auto industrial goods.
This will open markets for farmers and workers, increase investment, and lead to greater prosperity.

      1. EU is reporting “work towards” zero tariffs – yes. This is called calling Trump’s bluff because it will likely be politically impossible to eliminate US farm subsidies so the EU will use that as an excuse to keep theirs. I also can’t see Trump removing any existing tariff on light trucks but I could be surprised. It would render his position on NA part content under NAFTA irrelevant.

I read an op-ed suggesting that Canada play the same card. Agree to work towards zero farm subsidies on both sides which would force the US to admit it can’t do that.

The offer to “buy more soybeans” is the same bizarre offer that China made but it does not really mean much since soybeans are a fungible good so it does not matter where their supply comes from. There is also no mention of whether the regulatory barriers (no-GMO, anti-Monsanto) are on the table. Those are a much bigger issue for NA farmers than tariffs.

        1. that read like you were stating a fact….not your opinion : “These “concessions” require the US to eliminate all farm subsidies and tariffs on light trucks.”
I was asking you for a link, where did you see that as a fact

          1. It appears to EU got all it wanted from Trump:

            https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trade-eu-tariffs/eu-commissioner-suggests-broad-cuts-to-tariffs-with-u-s-idUSKBN1KF0JI

“Firstly, our common line is that we expect the existing punitive tariffs to be lifted,” Oettinger, a German, said of the EU’s position. “Then we are ready to discuss a reduction and restructuring of all tariffs in all sectors.”

Oettinger suggested the EU and the United States could try to negotiate a lighter version of a stalled comprehensive U.S.-European trade deal known as the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP).

IOW – Trump basically got things back to the state they were in before he went on his tariff rampage when the US and the EU were already negotiating a free trade pact.

A promise to buy “more” soybeans is not much of a win.

          2. How do you get what the EU got from that??……He said that before anyone even left for Washington…..

“Speaking before an EU delegation travels to Washington for talks on Wednesday on a long-term trade deal, Guenther Oettinger said”

    2. Spoken like a true TDS addled protectionist. Sure the EU caved in but apparently called Trump’s bluff.

Sure, screw you Mr Trump here is everything you want. Truly Dem speak to say he caved in.

Trump is the strong horse and you are but a whelp faking a logical argument. Your milk bowl is ready.

You are a loser and Trump is a winner; no surprise to me you don’t know the difference with your fact, common sense and context free “analysis.” Friggin laughable the lengths you TDS types will to discredit Trump at the expense of the US.

Then again I saw this act against Stephen Harper.

      1. Trump got next to nothing but claims a win.
The EU got all they wanted.
It is not rational to call this a win for Trump.

Note that Trump has no interest in free trade and is no free trader. He does not even understand basic economics so it is laughable to suggest that people who oppose him must be protectionists. The only people supporting Trump on trade are protectionist Democrats like Warren.

BTW – using the “TDS” label on anyone who criticizes Trump just shows you are a mindless ideologue that has nothing to contribute. If you disagree with my assessment then address the arguments made. Naming call simply shows how weak your arguments are.

        1. Can you post a link to anything to back up what you are claiming??…so you don’t look like a mindless ideologue

          1. I posted a link to what the EU wanted going into the negotiations already.
            They got everything they wanted.
They promised to buy more gas and soybeans (whatever that means) which is not a big concession.

I know Fox News is trying to spin this as a big win but based on the details I have read is it nothing more than Trump folding his cards and agreeing to keep talking.

          2. you can’t be that dense…..how fast did Trump put those tariffs in place?….and how fast can he put them back if he doesn’t get what he wants from the EU…
…..and don’t you think they know that?

They agreed to continue negotiating……Trump did not agree to never put tariffs back

        2. One more time – your opinions are not facts. BTW, TDS is an accurate description of mindless ideologues like you.

You’ve amply demonstrated TDS in your no facts hating everything Trump does, says or what you decide to make up.

BTW, I don’t bother arguing with ignoramuses like you; I prefer adult conservations using actual facts not factpinions.

I seek to beat your ilk at the ballot box, not win arguments against you, mainly because you don’t know what an argument is.

          1. Sure Trump can “put the tariffs” back the schedule for negotiations is not even set. They could drag on for years. The EU has also made it clear that there will be no deal if tariffs are imposed and they will hit back hard against the US farmers if Trump tries.

The bottom line is we are back were things started: the status quo on tariffs while the US and the EU try to negotiate a FTA.

There is no rational basis to claim this as a win or a vindication for Trump. It is a win for the US because their president has been forced to back down from his self destructive course.

          2. you are a hoot….the negotiations have not even started….neither Juncker nor Trump had any advisers with them

…and you think the two of them could have ironed out some detailed agreement

Well the Dow and Nasdaq think you are wrong…….and somehow I think they are smarter than you are

          3. Trump agreed to remove the tariffs.
That was a precondition for any talks with the EU.
Trump caved in return for the promise of talks.

If Trump thinks he can impose them again later the EU will walk away from the talks an impose counter measures.
The EU knows Trump has a weak hand. The pain the EU can inflict on his base hurts him politically even if the dollar value is small.

          4. ..so did the EU….that’s normal

You seem to think that Juncker and Trump could have ironed out some detailed trade agreement today….

          5. Of course they could not negotiate a complete deal in one day.

But if you read what the EU says they agreed to can see it is just a promise to work towards an FTA where both the US and the EU make concessions (which the implication that EU would not concede more than the US). The point is the EU and the US were already talking about an FTA and there is no reason to believe that any of the issues that prevented that deal from being signed in the past are any closer to resolution. The tariffs did nothing but piss people off and ensure that the EU will be more politically united when it comes to negotiations while in the damage done to US companies has weakened Trump.

I don’t personally believe that Trump has what it takes to negotiate a deal with substance with anyone. He is too used to dealing with companies that he can bully into submission or find another partner that he can bully. It does not work that way with international relations. China, the EU, Japan, etc are the only players around to make a deal with and they are too big to bully without causing a lot of harm to Americans in the process.

          6. The DOW and NASDAQ are reacting because Trump blinked and called off the trade war.
Investors don’t care if the EU made “concessions” as long as the threat of ever escalating tit for tat tariffs is gone.

          7. tell you what….wait and see….nothing has been negotiated yet…and nothing signed

They both agreed to work toward less …

      2. Your tears are hot and tasty. Seriously: we can all hear your crying through the spastic ad homs.

    3. Yes … that’s exactly what the US Stock Market signaled … Trump’s surrender. You must love the internet … where stupid people can say stupid thing, and believe they’re brilliant!

      Smh

  4. Meanwhile, back at the Canadian ranch, True-grope keeps fighting for a trade war so he can stir up anti Trumpers here in time for the next election.

  5. Anyone remember the G6 plus 1?

    We are the 1

Trudeau and Canada left holding the bag.

    This was entirely predictable

    1. Exactly, and in more ways than one.
This is a move in the right direction by both parties, unlike the useless teats we have in Ottawa have accomplished.

    1. LOL…you quoted the maven?….who’s motto is “Being Liberal. Because the reality has a liberal bias”

      1. Do you always look like a mindless ideologue, Latitude?
You obviously did not read the article, and I really doubt that you would understand it.

        1. Of course I read it…that’s how I found their motto…..

Is mindless ideologue today’s liberal flash card….I realize you guys need all the help you can get

  6. The EU is a protectionist bloc designed to ensure that Germany enjoys a huge trade surplus with its debt peons in the rest of Europe.

Allowing Europeans to import high-quality American goods at reasonable prices would defeat the purpose of the EU.

I see Juncker is in no hurry to propose freedom of movement between the US and EU as well. If he did that, every white Christian in the EU would make plans tomorrow morning to leave behind crushing taxes and Islamization.

    1. Just what the US needs.

A bunch of lazy pussies that think health care is a fundamental right, guns are bad, and they have a right to take a month’s vacation every August. How about you Canucks take them in? Canada is a big empty country with lots of promise. You all want to be so European? Import some.

Want to live in a decent country? Fight for it!

    2. Exactly. I know a Dutch couple who tried for years to get citizenship but could not despite a thriving furniture business. Ditto on a multi-millionaire Brit couple. And the harassment they faced every time they went through US customs was a disgrace.

So it’s not surprising that even educated well to do Europeans think the United States is a nasty place. They don’t realize that being tough on European would-be immigrants, and travelers is how INS got their numbers under the lax Bush/Obama regime to show they were “tough on immigration”. Hopefully this will change under Trump.

  7. But do leaders of the Grand EUrinal have anatomically correct action figures modeled after them?

  8. Not sure what you guys are looking at…but I understand there is a verbal agreement at this point (to be finalized in the near future) of the US increasing Liquid Natural Gas to the EU to stick it to Putin once again…and a lowering of Industrial tariffs by the EU. But, carry on…I enjoy the creativity.

  9. It’s nothing. It’s an ‘agreement’ to strike an executive committee to work towards something or another. Sweet. Nothing.

Hilarious how Trumptards are always talking about paying attention to actions instead of words and strictly hang on the words of Tangerine Turd.

    1. Ummmm…read my comment again. It’s a horse trade, and a good one. We provide LNG, and they lower tariffs. We get a better industrial trade atmosphere, increase our energy revenue and also punish Russia. How is that a “Sweet. Nothing?”

Incidentally, the EU is in deep excrement as far as energy goes. Those wind farms and solar subsidies didn’t work out very well for them. It, also, turns out that phasing out those coal producers and turning away nuclear power wasn’t very bright. They are approaching astronomical electricity bills and rolling black outs are about to become the norm (unless they obtain a benefactor with energy resources to burn…wonder who that would be?). On average across the entire EU, electricity costs went up 63%. The UK (thanks to their inability to control the wind….who knew?) their electricity costs went up 133%.

Trump had something they needed. He very wisely threw it into the mix to obtain concessions on tariffs. Think about LNG as a leash. Who controls the leash? How can that leash be used to secure future concessions…of an ongoing nature?

      1. Orson…..Trump has a innate ability to recognize a scab…and pick it

Drives liberals crazy that he is doing thinks they could not do………

      2. “We provide LNG, and they lower tariffs. ”

Delusional. You have no clue what you’re talking about. There is no such agreement in place. They’re going to strike up a committee FFS.

        1. Like all addled Trump haters, everything he does is wrong. Why should we care what you think Mikey. Actually we do know – no matter the issue – Trump is wrong. Sure tell us all about your detailed investigation of an announcement.

We know you hate Trump, so what; spare us the rationalization for your bigotry and ignorance.

        2. Ouch! You speak the truth. However, America’s left admire Trudeau’s Canadian fan boi’s almost as much as they admire the kewl Europeans and the EU. My country hangs like a tooth with a 50-50 chance of fading into the malaise of a Socialist bureaucrat State.

        3. LNG to Europe will FREE the EU from the blackmail of Russian gas. Since all good leftists are supposed to HATE Putin … you should be CHEERING the alternative energy option Trump is promising to deliver to the EU.

So, I guess UN-EU needs to figure out who he HATES more … Putin … or Trump?

    2. the EU had originally said they would negotiate nothing….now they are willing to negotiate
..yep, Trump made them woke…and now they are willing to negotiate

      1. A process that will take years and is contingent on the US removing the tariffs they just put in place ie a return to the SQ which is about as good as it gets with Turmp around.

  10. “After talks at the White House with E.U. officials, Trump announced in a joint Rose Garden appearance that the delegation had agreed to increase imports of soybeans and liquefied natural gas. Both sides agreed to work toward the goal of “zero” tariffs and subsidies on non-auto industrial goods, and to “resolve” recent tariffs that both sides have imposed.”

    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2018/07/25/trump-announces-trade-concessions-from-eu-officials-on-soybeans-energy-tariffs.html

    1. If nothing else … Trump moved the ball in the favor of HIS country. If the EU receives benefits too … that’s called a win-win. Since when is a win-win a bad thing? When further ZERO US-EU and EU-US tariffs are announced … Trump will have made a MASSIVE relevelling of the playing field.

After all that is settled, we can go to battle over automobiles. At which point the EU will crumble … or face 25% tariffs on each and every German automobile sold in America. Just stand back and watch Americans lose their appetite for BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Audi, VW … and move on to American models. The EU would NEVER put that cash cow at risk.

This is Trump’s one-v-one Trade negotiation tactic. No more entangled obfuscation of multilateral trade deals. No more NAFTA and it’s myriad loopholes that you can drive a Chinese Steel factory through. No more TPP and it’s deep, deep, deep bow to the Chinese. Just working out bilateral trade deals in the interest of BOTH countries.

Why hasn’t this EVER been done by any US President since the 1950’s? Oh yeah … corporate globalists were running the show and manipulating their puppet presidents. No more. There is a new POTUS in charge … a new paradigm. Best sort out your investments accordingly. All I know is that MY portfolio had a very good day … as it has nearly every day since about November 15, 2016. And I expect BIG DAYS tomorrow and Friday! In particular, my Small caps and mid caps did very well … MY President … looking out for the little guys. Ha!

  11. So you put tariffs on to to apply pressure to get some concessions. It appears to me to have worked . I believe he has a meeting scheduled with the
Leader of China. I fully expect he will come to an agreement of some type . I am sure we will be informed as to how he caved and lost . After he makes that deal well Justin can act really tough and stick it to him. Yes , Justin is brilliant . Trump will be on his knees . Couldn’t possibly be anything wrong with that strategy. Trump understands that flexibility is often necessary to consummate a deal. Justin’s thinly veiled distaste and actions have screwed us . We will find ourselves in a terrible negotiating position.

    1. The arrogance of PM Sock Monkey’s youth is astounding. The arrogance of his ignorance is even MORE astounding. And that chubby little woman he has entrusted the ENTIRE Canadian economy too … is similarly arrogant without anything to show for it … except a shitshow.

I am sorry, my Canadian Friends … but we’ve ALL been forewarned … “elections have consequences”
