The CBC isn’t a real news organisation. It is a mouthpiece. Its sole purpose is propaganda. Of course it would fawn over and protect certain political entities and (it should go without saying) runs items that are patently absurd (SEE: volcanoes, global warming, you believe what now?).

The print media are doing badly, and CTV News and Global News barely get by with moribund ad revenues. But the fatcat CBC enjoys an annual $1.5-billion federal subsidy (bribe?). And the CBC web page is drawing readers from private sector media. And the reason private sector journalists do not complain, publicly, is because, given the dire economic prospects of private-sector media, journalists realize that one day they might have to apply at the CBC for work.
