Or Wait For A Flood

Anaheim, CA;

Deputies will give tent-dwellers reasonable time to move and the county will provide transportation to area shelters and storage for personal belongings, she said. The encampment is a two-mile (3.2 kilometer) stretch of tents and tarps surrounded by trash on a dusty patch of land near a bike trail where cyclists zoom by.
“The goal is to get people out of there and restore it to a flood control channel,”

  1. Every day we seem to get a new definition of a sh!thole ‘The encampment is a two-mile (3.2 kilometer) stretch of tents and tarps surrounded by trash on a dusty patch of land’
And the US ones are all in liberal land.

  2. “The goal is to get people out of there and restore it to a flood control channel,”
How do people in tents stop it from being a flood control channel?
They just don’t want to have to look at them. The homeless offend them, and offending is now a crime.

  3. I’m sure this goal will be fulfilled, just as well as using BMW EVs for police patrols.
    What could possibly go wrong?

    “Or Wait For A Flood”
there used to be a canadian comedian who quipped…
“back in winnipeg, we have a real solution to the
    homeless problem… it’s called winter.”

  5. Why not send them to Mexico? It’s even warmer down there and the food is cheaper.

  6. They didn’t say that people in tents stop it being a flood channel. But obviously since they know there are many people living there in tents, contrary to zoning bylaws at least, when they have warning of a possible flood for which they rely on drainage there to prevent or reduce flooding, they’ll have to get the people out of there. And the personnel and equipment that they will need to do that will likely be needed for other important work at such a time. And the people they will have to get to move will probably include a troublesome number who will need help to be moved and/or will be uncooperative.

  7. “A flood would be pretty handy for LA city council right now, eh?”
Absolutely! And they’d get to blame the big flush on climate change.

  8. the situation is close the civil war circumstances… the sought wanted slaves, the north didn’t.. the south shot first..
if there is an actual disturbance, wanna bet the oaklanders shoot first..

  9. I’d love to tell you all about the homeless/illegal problem adjacent to Vandenburg Air Force Base in California but then I’d have to kill you.

  10. Blech, the goal is to remove the embarrassment. It was not until the video of the bicycle trail went viral did they care!

  11. Exactly! Sad … but it’s the Truth. And what’s saddest is that the leaders of Anaheim are embarrassed … and will (temporarily) move the tents … the LA leadership has no such embarrassment. Nope. They just blame the RACISTS and CAPITALISTS for all the homeless Illegals.

  12. The solution is to designate the area as a “Community Hydration Center” with staff on hand to assist (when it rains).

  13. > A flood would be pretty handy for LA city council right now, eh?
AND it would be evidence of Global Warming. A win-win all around.
