Swamp, Draining

Via Conservative Treehouse;

The Trump-appointed acting director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau said Wednesday that he is launching a review of all the federal consumer watchdog agency’s policies and priorities.
It’s the second major step taken this week by Mick Mulvaney, who took over as acting director in late November, to reshape the bureau. On Tuesday, the bureau announced a review of its recently enacted rules for payday lending.
The review is the clearest sign yet that the future direction and role of the CFPB, which has existed for less than a decade, will be dramatically different than it was under the Obama administration.

More: “One of the bizarre features of the CFPB’s unconstitutional structure is that the Bureau gets no funding from Congress. Instead, the Director simply writes to the Fed requesting funds, which the Fed has to grant up to a certain variable limit. Acting Director Mick Mulvaney has just put in his first such request – for $0.”

  1. CFPB & CSA have a lot in common. Gov’t agencies run amok. CFPB for political purposes, CSA for self-aggrandisement and enrichment.

  2. A ponderous topic and read, but there may be no deeper example of the Deep State … the Deep, Deep, Leftist State than the CFPB.
I was particularly disgusted (but hardly surprised) to read about the FRAUDULENT and ILLEGAL hiring practices that guaranteed a 100% Leftist workforce. And the “structure” of the Bureau which insulated it from Congressional Review and Control. Essentially, giving a BUSINESS CRUSHING bureaucracy complete license to destroy Free Market Commerce. This shithole of a Bureau (license taken from CNN) should never have been created … but as the Leftists are fond of saying … never let a (mortgage banking) CRISIS go to waste. Now it is time for the Trump Admin to not let American PROSPERITY go to waste … but to take ACTION and drain this corpuscle on America’s ass.
I am confident that Mulvaney is the Right man at the Right time. Get rid of the partisans at this Bureau! Tame this beast, or KILL it and GRILL it!!

  3. All I got is WOW…!
..and financed by the Fed…? how is that even possible.? It’s like a Marxist inspired money printing/laundering scheme built by the Obama Admin for democrat use to funnel monies to the Clinton Org and other Liberal Agencies and Individuals all the while running roughshod over every legit American Business enterprise.
It literally boggles the mind. The incredible Collusive Theft and reminds me of who and what we have here in Canada. IDENTICAL
I would hope to see Jail terms for all.
    Unreal.

  4. Exactly! And Wow is only beginning of how the despicable swamp should be described. Rubin does a great job of exposing this travesty. If there were real justice anyone connected to the setting up of this Democrat slush fund would be going to jail and hopefully Mulvaney can clean it up in the next three years.

  5. Need anymore reasons to get rid of secret ballots? Everyone who voted for Warren, who created the agency, lose nothing. When Democrat corruption, starts to result in people who had Dem lawn signs going to prison, you will see change. Until then, kvetching and moaning only.

  6. Actually, Kevin, Fauxcahontas created this monster before being elected to the Senate. She fully expected to be its director.

  7. Left voters will be back and will just change things back. It’s all a ” make work ” project. They stuff the ballot boxes. See, they are all in on it together. So don’t be too joyful, take your profits when you can in your retirement nest egg. No wonder they hate outsiders who are onto them. Left or right we are all doomed.
(Remember they said 100 years ago ….”The income tax is just to pay off war costs” yeah sure right)

  8. This sounds familiar. During the Chretien/Martin years, didn’t the Liberals funnel large amounts of cash to unaccountable, unauditable foundations?

  9. ‘consumer watchdog’
    uhuh.
is it related in any way to the SEC that SERIOUSLY fcuked up with the madoff 50 BILLION dollar ponzi scheme?
yep. the whistleblower and those who listened saw very quickly madoff’s numbers were *mathematically* IMPOSSIBLE.
    ie straight arrow for years.
which comes with the time demands to fake plausible numbers.
SEC had the file for years. And. Did. Nothing.
    ‘consumer watchdog’.
