Climate scientist Daniel Alongi has been indicted by the Australian government on charges of defrauding taxpayers out of $556,000 in false expenses since 2008.
Alongi has already admitted to creating false invoices, credit card statements, and e-mails to cover his misappropriation of funds.
Alongi’s indictment raises serious questions concerning the credibility of his research. During the period of Alongi’s alleged fraud, his research focusing on the impact of climate change on the Great Barrier Reef, coastal mangroves, and coastal ecosystems was published in numerous national and international journals.

Nic is misinformed. Winter temperatures have definitely been getting warmer, especially in the North. That’s not surprising since the coldest period in the past 10,000 years was only 300 years ago. The rate of warming is not unusual or alarming, and the warming is NOT caused by human activities.

While this winter was warmer, I am not convinced that the past several years were. This was an El Nino year.
We should thank the fossil fuel industry for saving the planet from extinction of all life. The level of CO2 was getting low, close to the level where plants would suffocate from lack of CO2.
Hell, even if city temperatures are going up that’s no surprise to genuine climate scientists (as opposed to science prostitutes) – it’s called the Urban Heat Island Effect and is very well documented, despite persistent attempts by the aforementioned prostitutes to sweep it under the rug.

It would seem that if you are a climate scientist promoting AGW, there is literally no one of any consequence that is going to call you on fraud.

The temperature of a lot of places has gone up because former rural stations are now urban. Edmonton very rarely gets to -30 while the airport gets to -40 or even -46 a few years ago.
I’m not referring to the urban heat island effect, but specifically referring to data from rural stations across the North where that is not a factor. Winter temperatures have definitely been getting warmer, and extreme cold days are much less frequent. Understand that this rate of warming is not unusual or alarming, and the warming is NOT caused by human activities.

how the h*ll would anyone know what actual temps are. The sparce and non even distribution of weather stations make for a highly questionable data set. Sh!t, I can drive my truck 40 klicks and get an 8C variance in temps. The problem with the current set up, even in the country, is that the whole system is at fault. If you learn how to d studies, and yes that’s all weather measurements are, then you’ll quickly realize that GIGO is dominant characteristic here.

The fact that the earth’s average temperature has been gradually and steadily rising since the Little Ice Age 300 years ago, is not a scam. Some years it’s warmer and some years it’s colder, but there is plenty of irrefutable evidence that the earth’s average temperature has been gradually increasing. For example, the date and time the ice moves out on the rivers at Fairbanks and Dawson City has been accurately recorded for more than a hundred years. The data are freely available on-line. A plot of the dates shows that on average the ice goes out about a week earlier now than a hundred years ago.
Temperature data carefully recorded year-after-year at isolated rural airfields across Alaska and Northern Canada, show that the rate of temperature change in our lifetimes has not been unusually rapid nor in any way alarming for the temperature changes of the past 300 years. It was even warmer than now 1000 years ago during Viking times and 2000 years ago during Roman times. It was warmest 8000 years ago during the well documented Holocene Optimum. All of this can be easily confirmed with a bit of on-line searching.
The Scam is trying to make people believe they are causing the temperature to change and increase to ‘record highs’. This is to justify raising taxes to somehow “stop-the-climate-from-changing”. Science has been perverted by government policy on what research gets funded. Most scientists are ‘grant whores’; they’ll ‘research’ whatever the government or industry will fund. The conclusions are foregone before the ‘research’ starts. So called ‘climatologists’ have conveniently blamed humans burning fossil fuels for a natural process; and the research grants for ‘climate change’ keep rolling in.
Understand the real scam, don’t be fooled by greedy charlatans masquerading as scientists.

The US govt agencies have specifically selected temperature data from urban heat islands to support the ‘climate change’ scam.
It would be interesting to know what the average temperatures for Siberia and south into China were for this last winter, as according to anecdotal reports I have seen it has been bitterly cold and stormy all winter.
Alongi’s arrest should be the first of many. Gore should be one of the first.
Well Jean, I tried to find somewhere that listed the entire record for Fairbanks and my 5 minute web search didn’t come up with it.
What I did find is http://www.intellicast.com/Local/History.aspx?location=USAK0083 It turns out that most of the record highs for a month were set in the 90s, with a few in the 80’s and some in the 00’s. And one record low since 2005, but no record highs. No record highs in the last 10 years. Could it be that there’s a long term cycle that topped out 20 years ago and is decreasing now?
you don’t understand that of which you speak. Increases in one area do not equate to “global”, and these localized data sets only cover the lower atmosphere, not land, ocean, or upper atmosphere. The radiation in take of energy vs outward radiation is pretty much a balanced system. BUT, your increased temps may only be localized or northern hemisphere only, nobody actually knows, and that is the issue. To get an accurate picture of “energy” in the atmosphere you would need to measure in a grid pattern, at least at 4 different elevations and hourly would be preferable and then run this data set through a correlation program. Then you could see a rise or fall of actual energy in the atmosphere. This would not account for water bodies, which would also need much better monitoring. As it is we are only guessing, and localized guessing, and then extrapolating to global is a mugs game.
