A student recounts how he “de-converted” from the mentally dismal crab-bucket world of the “social justice warrior”:
I realised it wasn’t going to get better. I was in a university class about feminism, overrun with SJWs, and they had worse arguments than I’d seen online. There was no smarter next level to feminism that I was just too stupid to see. That was it. I was at the top and our arguments still sucked.

Get a load of one of the responses to the post-feminist post:
“I mean the amount of women I’ve talked to over the years that link feminism up with man hating is very high. That doesn’t mean that feminism is man hating though, it just means that a lot of people have got this false notion of what feminism is or at least what certain forms it takes that don’t involve man hating.
I hope you re-think your dislike and distrust of feminism and what being a SJW entails since I think you never fully understood it in the first place. Maybe you do and disagree with it. If that is the case then it seems you really just got into it for selfish reasons and left for selfish reasons which is quite sad.”
The poor guy just didn’t do it the right way. He should have just ignored all the feminists who are man haters!

David Gelernter says much the same thing here. The right has the facts, the left has lies, bullshit and personal attacks. Gelernter is a brilliant man. He had was nearly killed opening a letter bomb from the “Unabomber”.

prez carter was dissed probably because he was from the south..
verging incompetent had nothing to do with it..
I wonder in how many stories about turning away from obsession/activism the beginning of the end starts with “… and then I real got a life”. A non-SJW job, a relationship with a normal person, marriage, family. There’s a negative connotation about people in your life being anchors but anchors keep you from drifting aimlessly or into dangerous places.
John Galt: Thanks for the link to David Gelertner’s article. He is a very sharp guy. I read his book where he recounts his experience of being blown up by the unabomber.
From Gelertner:
“How can we rearrange this bloody-minded political atmosphere? My guess is that only a religious revival, or a Euro-style religious collapse, will change it. Obviously the collapse is far more likely than the revival.”
Excellent article but I wish he would have described the consequence of a Euro-style religious collapse.
The SJWs have a core belief that they are the only ones who care or are compassionate.
Which is interesting since conservatives give more to charities, volunteer more, and give blood often more than liberals.
“the mentally dismal crab-bucket world of the “social justice warrior”..” For those who have never held a bucket of live crab, this is a beautifully apt description – thrashing around in futility while clawing at one another or anything within reach of their claws.

the sjw’s aren’t just about feminism…
“Let’s face it… you’re sitting in a large metal tube,
thousands of feet above the ground traveling
hundreds of miles per hour… your major concern
is gonna be “affirmative action.”
*
all boils down to this:
“their communities actually enforce factionalism and division.”
FAA?
F*** you in the A** Always?
The deconstructed SJW continues:
“The last straw was when I made a desperate, ditch effort to convert my brown female girlfriend to feminism with me. It failed; she said feminists in her country were crazy. We argued a bit. Finally it felt like a curtain was being pulled back and I realized the ridiculousness of it all. I was a stupid white knight arguing with a brown girl that she should be more feminist. I deconverted on the spot. I stopped being ashamed of myself, a lot of things changed about the way I see myself and the world. Ironically, I stopped seeing every situation as a men vs. women or race vs. race binary. SJW’s insist their goal is to make everyone equal, and for a long time I believed it, but their communities actually enforce factionalism and division.”
I truly hope that was the main motivation, not only the prospect of losing a cute girlfriend. This student’s regret will be felt by electorates everywhere as their elected SJWs, having already thrown the poor under the bus, seek to control the rest of us all and ensure their influence, but above all without argument, to the point where we have no choice but to do their bidding – aka socialism and all it’s disgusting coercion and false narratives.
How long can the Alinsky shout out prevail. It worked for Trudeau here – remember his rude & arrogant performance in the debates for which he was given a mediocracy mulligan. Notwithstanding the antics of Donald Trump, he has shown himself immune to the RINO shout out, or the Hillary shout out. Can he prevail against the upcoming Dem shout out?
now just replace SJW with “religiousness” and we have a TAKE…………….

Gee, another SJW heard from…he’s on a crusade 🙂
Reading about SJWs used to make me alternatively furrow my brow, laugh or assign them some mental condition, at best under the care of a psychiatrist, frequently adjusting their meds. An abstraction.
The reality hit home over the holidays when my wife and I hosted a small dinner party. A couple asked if their single daughter, in her mid thirties, trained as a teacher, could come along. We were aware that she had a troubled past, dabbling in and busted for drug use, bailed out more than once, always in debt, moving frequently and often in the care of government sponsored “care givers” helping her find her way in life.
About an hour into the meal, and apparently feeling intellectually and morally superior, she began to exhibit the thinking SDA commenters write about:
“Capitalism is a failing system soon to collapse.”
“Canadians are too rich and should be made to share more with the world at large.”
Addressing her parents and my wife and I, she passionately opined that we were selfish, uncaring, obsessed with material things, unsympathetic to the plight of the third world’s downtrodden etc. etc.
I stopped her somewhere in mid rant and admonished her, advising that I could care less if she wanted to give her entire life to whatever lost cause she wished but to not suggest that someone (government, herself) spend my very hard earned retirement dollars through a coercive tax regime on ingrates involved in suspect and often violent causes. She stopped her blather, with a pout and a subsequent cheap shot about old people. Her parents vocally approved my remarks.
Upon reflection, this caricature of a SJW, forever lost in adolescence, is troubling. She seems to be representative of many, in my experience, graduating from today’s institutes of higher learning…rude, unthinking, resentful, with an attitude of entitlement and superiority, incapable of producing anything. Grotesque really.
These are the people that have inflicted young Trudeau upon us…and their numbers are growing.
“…forever lost in adolescence […] rude, unthinking, resentful, with an attitude of entitlement and superiority, incapable of producing anything.”
Well, yes. That’s the fundamental problem; they’re still self-absorbed children well past the age of 18. My equivalent of this is an acquaintance currently pursuing her Philosophy PhD on a scholarship paid for by my tax dollars, who likes to opine about how materialistic Canadians are and how they want to acquire too much money. She’s never worked a day in her life, and she’s been a student for 36 years.
I deconverted myself from being a hippy in the 70’s. Once you’ve openly laughed at a guy teaching a university class for being fantastically wrong about something because physics doesn’t work like he thinks, there’s no going back. The whole edifice crumbles and you walk away from the wreckage.
Seen that a few times in my life. I get asking questions, and pretty soon the whole thing comes unglued.
Be sure to also read the linked Heather MacDonald article about The Ferguson Effect. Very informative!
