  1. This comment I found worth repeating (Ratharian): “Dort, wo man Bücher verbrennt, verbrennt man am Ende auch Menschen”
Where they burn books, they will also ultimately burn people. Heinrich Heine
ISIS isn’t the only group trying to silence dissent. The Left is doing its’ best to re-write history and ban opposing symbolism. Maybe that’s why the Left appears to tolerate Islam more than people who lean Right. The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

  2. Why does this a**hole (Totten) act so surprised? ISIS and Islam are for one purpose only. World domination, in case the leftard dipsticks out there don’t realize it. Totten is a fool, and anybody who thinks otherwise, are fools. They will take your head. Actually, the sooner the better.

  3. Yes.
Cultural Genocide? So I guess this destruction of the Temple of Baal* is going to spell the end of the culture of the Baal worshippers?
    That’s too bad.
Me, I care more about the people Islam murders than the ruins they rubble.

  4. There won’t be a war with ISIS.
You can’t ask your armies to fight in the sandbox when the boat people coming from that area will kill their families at home.

  5. Totten may be right in naming a couple of despotic regimes but he is wrong to add Christianity’s Crusades – those were responses to Islamic expansionism, not an attempt at genocide. Typical “liberal” rewriting of history.

  6. “You can’t ask your armies to fight in the sandbox when the boat people coming from that area will kill their families at home.”
Good point. I’d like to add that it isn’t likely that a war could even be waged against ISIS with the Russian military poised to invade ever more Eastern European states.
There just aren’t enough military resources to go around and Russia is the greater imminent threat, war wise.
Beside that, we couldn’t win anyhow unless our politicians recognize that the war is against Islam, not the Taliban, al Qaeda, ISIS or ‘Terror’.
Until then, it would just be playing another round of Whack-a-Mole.

  7. What is the point of going to war and dividing them into good Borg and bad Borg, then killing a few of the bad Borg, being sensitive not to kill any civilian Borg and to feel guilty when we do kill a few civilians shielding bad Borg? Then we make peace at the earliest possible time before anything is resolved. Let us not forget that the good Borg still wish us dead.
We beat the Germans and Japanese by realizing that the civilians are just as guilty as the military and deserve equality in treatment. The good civilians were just as guilty as the bad civilians. Until there is a realization that you have to beat these people so badly that they fear for the very existence of their lives and culture, there is no victory.

  8. Hm.
I thought “cultural genocide” is what we are committing against our beloved First Nations.
Though I can’t remember us burning any pre-Columbian temples.

  9. The “Crusade” mentioned was a reference to the Spanish civil war – easy to miss in the context of the short quote.

  10. Yup. Of course there will be a war. And, indeed, the only way to counter it is to carry out genocide on our enemies. As we did on Germany. Sir Arthur Harris, head of Bomber Command, wrote that the point of his area-bombing campaign was not to destroy factories (though that was a desirable consequence), but to kill workers and destroy their homes so that there would be massive homelessness.
Not nice, was it? But we did it. And, God willing, we will do it again.

  11. Of course they don’t mean the “Cultural Genocide” of ALL western cultures. Anything involving Caucasian/ Conservative/ Christian or even Cowboy in any combination is fair game.

  12. Count me in too. It’s pretty fair to say that Trotten possesses a late day flair for the obvious. Perhaps it should be seen as a positive sign that others like him, albiet late in the game, are beginning to wake up. There’s already immense damage to tackle here on home turf. Just as these Middle Eastern battles have differed from anything known before, (plain-clothes combatants etc) subterfuge and fanaticism are the secret weapons. The Qur’an, with an ambition to conquer all, apparently advocates a strategy of double-talk and deception, (Iran/US nuclear agreement) taking huge advantage of the indulgent, pampered, gullible and wrongheaded dominant mentality of western populations. Throw in the towel and offer up your head, unless a majority begins to quickly realize how serious this situation is becoming.

Liberals blithely carry on with their fallacious platitudes, preoccupied in an intellectual circle-jerk, attempting to outdo each other in self-righteousness, to the detriment of the freedoms and peace they take for advantage.
Please don’t let Canada be run by the likes of Justin Trudeau or Thomas Mulcair.

  13. Oh don’t ask too many details. Anything that looks like ISIS or an ISIS supporter or an ISIS facility. To quote David Warren, “People back home would not want to know what it takes to eliminate the sort of force that gloats over video executions. It might ruin their breakfasts.”

  14. It’s unfair to criticize Michael Totten as late to the party, he’s been doing some amazing reporting from the world’s hot spots, and very clear eyed about it. Read his stuff, and throw some money his way, he’s worth a hundred of the ilk laughably called ‘reporters’.

  15. I am all for eradicating the Islamic State.
But “a war against Islam” is a complete non-starter and an absurdity, notwithstanding all the fulsome and obsessive ranting about it that seems to consume the attention of so many commenters here at SDA.

  16. “What is the point of going to war and dividing them into good Borg and bad Borg, then killing a few of the bad Borg, being sensitive not to kill any civilian Borg and to feel guilty when we do kill a few civilians shielding bad Borg?”
    Great comment in general, scar.
It should be noted that Islamic fighters really don’t wear uniforms distinguishing them from the civilian population and that they use civilian women and children to perform military support roles that we used uniformed troops to do.
“Until there is a realization that you have to beat these people so badly that they fear for the very existence of their lives and culture, there is no victory.”
That and they operate with a cellular structure which makes it impossible for them to sign an instrument of surrender which would allow any lasting Armistice to take hold.
Their goal is victory or martyrdom.
Muhammad never surrendered and they won’t either.
The best we could get is a Hudna which they will break at their earliest convenience just like Muhammad did.

  17. Ooz, juststinkin, north of 60, knite99, and a couple of others are nothing but ignorant blowhards. Tomorrow they will be advocating to arming and assisting the Kurds, who are, you guessed it, Muslims. Then there is the fact that Muslims are a cousin religion to Christianity. And there are about 1.3 to 1.7 (depends on who is doing the counting) Muslims world wide. Hitler must be drooling in his grave at those numbers. These blowhards are ignorant of history and ignorant of basic human psychology. I’m all for popping a few nukes into the rite spots and things should then calm down for a while:-))

“I’m all for popping a few nukes into the rite spots a……….” – Not Mentally Enabled999
LOL, listen to your friend here JJM, guess he’s racist against both christians and muslims, yes?

  19. “Hitler must be drooling in his grave at those numbers. ”
Given his well known pro-mooselimb attitude and their hatred of the joooos, indeed he must.
And yes, Kurds have been, apart for Israel, the only reliable ally of civilization and arming them to the teeth and helping them achieve independence would be an excellent idea.

  20. “Until there is a realization that you have to beat these people so badly that they fear for the very existence of their lives and culture, there is no victory.”
I recall reading a book many years ago, (it might have been ‘The Sea Wolf’), wherein the captain (or similar character) whose authority was periodically challenged by his subordinates would be obliged to fight – as he related it to a third party, he would not just beat his opponent, he would keep beating him until he destroyed his spirit.
The reason stated was that he never, ever, wanted an opponent to have, somewhere in the back of his mind, the thought that “I could’ve won if….” which might encourage a second attempt.

  21. That was me quoting scar’s comment at 4:30PM, which I fully agree with.
The problem is that just beating the Jihadis isn’t enough because the issue is a 1400 year old ideology(and the human example of their prophet Muhammad) which encourages them to be terrorists and spread their ideology by the sword until all the earth is Dar al Islam.
They welcome martyrdom, they believe they’re doing it in their god’s will, and ‘next attempt’ they’re use *weapons of mass destruction.

Bingo! The man wins the stuffed animal.
Hungary is inundated with ‘refugees’ – yes, they may fear for their lives, but not so much that they’re grateful to be accepted into Hungarian society. No, they want to transit to Germany or better still, the UK. Much better social benefits there and if they register as refugees in Hungary, under UN refugee rules, they’re stuck in Hungarian society.
The hoards, as sad as they appear, are at the gates of European society. They will exhaust the economic ability of their ‘adopted’ society to support them as they have no social/cultural inheritance that will allow them to adapt and integrate into western society. Islamic culture is antithetical to western values and their experience is to largely depend on the ‘strong horse’ of their undemocratic governments to provide them with sustenance. That tendency will be transferred to the oh so generous social benefits available within western societies that heretofore have had more ‘makers’ than ‘takers’.
It’s no surprise that with the exceptions of Jordan and Turkey, few Islam based countries have opened their doors to Arabic refugees. OTOH, human nature being what it is, few of these Arabs would want to live in Arab societies when western democracies offer so much more. Better to immigrate there and then work from within to make them Arabic societies with bennies.

  23. Scar said: “We beat the Germans and Japanese by realizing that the civilians are just as guilty as the military and deserve equality in treatment.”
I hear you, but can’t really accept your premise. After all, our Islamist enemies use the same rationale every time they use a child or a person with mental disabilities to walk into a crowd or a bus and detonate themselves. The civilians support the gov’t and therefore are just as guilty….
They’re screwed in the head, but it doesn’t make their rationale any less defensible than what you’re proposing. At the same time, the deaths of hundreds of thousands of civilians in Europe – specifically supporters of the German Reich and their allies, as well as Japanese civilians – were indeed collateral damage for the greater good.

  24. Gates of European society, you say? Nope already inside Europe. Hungary is a no less European state than Germany. And those backward xenophobic Hungarians never invited the mooselimb trojan horse in the first place, they have quite a history fighting against it in fact. Western Euros, practically without exception did, they should enjoy the full benefits of their enlightened multicultural enrichment. Had I been in charge of Hungarian emigration policy I would happily provide free transportation west to those “refugees”.

  25. Bomber Harris evoked terror raids on Germany for the terror raids on England
Both tried to break the spirit of the civilians
The First World War was a war on infantry , the second a war on civilians, and the numbers are overwhelming

  26. “as he related it to a third party, he would not just beat his opponent, he would keep beating him until he destroyed his spirit.”
Exact! You and Oz, and others, have it right. The Germans and Japanese were pummeled until broken, and this is the only way the ability of ISIS and clones to wage war against us will be destroyed. If we do not do this, they will ultimately destroy us piecemeal. They make it quite clear that it is them or us, and I would prefer it being them.
