Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

In more ways than one.
Anyone else here find the 1915 look to be extraordinarily hot?
I’ll be in my bunk.
2025 is a niqab?
Love the 4 comments above. Well said all.
I often tell my dear wife that she would look good in a burlap sack. Some idiot fashion designer must have overheard me.
Women sewed their own clothes until the 60’s….everything FIT for one thing. I maintain that if we sewed most of our clothes women would not gain so much weight. Try cutting out size 20 pants. UGH.
As the video began, and when I realized it was in 10 year cycles, I knew that 75 and 85 would be the worst… and I was correct.
1985 cannot be unseen.
I think that would have given Lovecraft nightmares.
Today’s clothes look like prison garb, or hospital gowns, or pajamas. The real test is: how do not-so-pretty-women look. Of course a gorgeous woman looks good in anything, even in today’s rags. But in the past, the not-so-pretty looked somewhat reasonable. They at least had some dignity. Today, the gorgeous look fine, and the not-so-pretty make you want to burst into tears with embarrassment. Nothing on them is hidden, nothing is glossed over. As most people’s proportions aren’t perfect, and perfect proportions are the real source of beauty, most people today look like heck. Meaning the women. Yes, you, gentle reader. If you are a woman. Don’t be so sure you are fine. You probably are not.
Women should get back into interestingly draped skirts with grace, and long hair. That won’t solve everything, but it might at least stop the laughter and the tears when you walk by. Looking normal instead of pitiful or ridiculous is a big start and a big improvement. In most cases, it’s enough.
You might have to learn simple sewing, and you might have to work on learning taste. The effort is worth it.
The architecture of the past is beautiful: just watch today’s tourists walk past an old building and see the contrast in taste. If the building could cry, it would. The people who built that building looked much better walking past it than you do.
Taste has been lost. But it can be recovered.
