Obama has just placed American power stations at a great disadvantage over their Chinese (and other) competitors. Manufacturing and processing is about having an endless source of cheap electricity. Unless you’re making snowshoes by hand and delivering them by dog sled, you need power. Enjoy!!

Solution is simple; prevent access from Chicom IP addresses. I’ve blocked most of Chinese IP space from my mailserver and ftp servers as mainly Chicom IP addresses carry out endless dictionary attacks against both. Trivial to block but I suspect we’re probably not dealing with script kiddies when it comes to higher value targets. Every once in a while I’ll run Wireshark to see what else is coming in as these same morons like to try to come in through VNC holes as well but most VNC attacks are from Russia. Of course, with Tor, these “attacks” could be coming from Chicom exit nodes, but then I suspect that most smart people block Chicom IP space already. Also, biggest Tor exit nodes are in Germany and Russia.
With NSA spying on everyone, there seems to be a bit of a double standard at play here and I’d like to see more details about these “attacks” like dumps of raw packets to see what really happened. Now that I’ve been subject to more dictionary attacks than I care to remember, I’m glad to see that not one of my passwords has ever appeared in the Chicom waves of packets that have been thrown at my servers.
