  4. Coach, the indifference explains a lot of it. If I may, I would also suggest that this indifference is created because people no longer feel a part of all the government and private institutions as these have become so big that people feel they no longer have a say.
    As well, I suspect that the almost stranglehold the left has on our learning and media institutions with the aim of turning the US into a Marxist state and the resultant further polarization of society contributes to this indifference. Much like the Russian people had disgust and indifference toward their Soviet masters for half of the seventy years where personal lives did not matter. It is much the same in Canada and many people are buying into this false illusion.

  7. 72% have faith in the military? I suspect a similar number knows absolutely nothing about the military. The gutting of the armed forces has to stop. The US had better maintain the ability to defeat Russia and/or China or it may come to a quick end.

    Since all these organizations are contemptible, dishonest or simply corrupt it is heartening to see more and more Americans figuring this out. But, what can they even do with this information? With a farce of a democracy that is really just a choice to see which of two entitled royal families get to plunder the masses next, I see no change coming.
    Also, since party fragmentation has eliminated any hope of the ol’ US of A moving forward under a single inspirational leader, I see a continuation of this suicidal path then complete collapse and rebuild as the only other fate in store. If the western world can survive this partisan bullsh*t at all, that is.
    Thanks Dems and Reps, your never-ending civil war and completely self-serving infighting have destroyed the greatest bastion of freedom on this planet.

There is little wonder Americans (I refer to the people who are still productive and paying the bills as Americans, as opposed to the social welfare state dependent voting block to whom America is nothing more than a government remittance cheque) have lost trust in their federal institutions – their congress , supreme court and sundry federal agencies have been subverted by a political cartel who disregard constitutional constraint and constitutional convention in governing/administering.
    It did not start with Obama _ I think it has been gradually underway since Eisenhower and went viral after Reagan. ALL federal political party networks participate in the rape of constitutional governance – as a consequence, moneyed lobbies and influential special interests run America ,not the red or blue state people. They now realize it and the current administration made it abundantly obvious to them.
    America is in that period of deionization just prior to a storm – I expect a SHTF civil upheavaal when the current Alinskyites go full monte in the final 2 years of mandate to sovietise America and make it a vassal state of the UN global socialist cabal.
    The 2 trigger events will be attempts at public disarmament and associating second amendment support as “racist terrorism” – and the official federalization of local police who will then be deployed to enforce Washington political policy at the local level. That is when red state America will mobilize.
    They left it almost too late so resisting Federal sovietism could get ugly – we may see martial law envoked under civil crisis justification – then the revolt will go hot with the Washington soviets pulling out all the stops in eliminating their ideological/political resistance.
    I believe these events to be very real but not inevitable – the way to bring down a corrupt militarized tyranny such as that which exists in Washington is the way the Russian people toppled the old soviet oligarchy and the Poles toppled their soviet oligarchy – they knew you could never win a shooting war with the tyrants – an organic bloodless coup by the grassroots worked – A sustained general strike by the productive – starve the commie parasites out. Works every time and it would be twice as effective in the US.

  10. Yep!-But; thanks to the Tea Party the malaise is a result of more Americans recognizing they have been scammed. The upheaval may be dramatic as Occam has described, however, the people with the weapons, including the Police and the Armed Forces, are more likely to have come from Tea Party thinking Roots.   11. Americans have not lost confidence in everything. Americans have just lost confidence in their fellow Americans. We have a university and scientific system that has suborned the ir systems for political reasons. We have uncontrolled minorities and illegal immigrants who have no connection with our ethos.We have two indoctrinated generations coming up who only have their hands out. Our neighbors have been so suborned that they are no longer trustworthy.

  12. Defeat Russia or China for what purpose? As I have stated here several times that the greatest threat to the west are thier own governments and a large percentage of its own population that has no interest in breeding for the future or being displaced by the third world. The only threat China and Russia are to the bankers and the Oligachs and if you or your children are willing to die for thier interest than fill your boots.
    The West is defeating it’s self thank you very much.

  13. Make yourself deliberately weak and you will quickly find out the intent of potential enemies. Russia & China are looking to pushing their boundaries where other people don’t want them to be. As long as you have the ability to militarily defeat your strongest enemy, you will never be tested.

    Hate to disagree, but “what other people”?
    So far China building a wall to N. Korea, some manmade Islands of it’s coast and Russia’s aggressive annexation of Crimea, is not exactly Imperialist aggression against the west.
    Not to say that they aren’t a future concern and should be monitored, but escalating tensions in the region serves no middle class taxpayer in the western world. “Good fences make for good neighbours”.

  16. In reading Tom Holland’s book, In the Shadow of the Sword, on the history of islam great similarities appear to today’s. As part of this he presents the history of Rome, Persia, the Jews and the Christians as they were in the middle east from about 500AD onwards. Both Rome and the Persian empires were rotting from within due to plagues, not enough soldiers, too many bureaucrats, social malaise and their subjects indifference especially Rome’s with its history of bread and circuses. By this time Rome had lost its entire western provinces and it was centred in Constantinople.
    The Arabs were Rome’s front line against Persia and others and when islam rose with mohammed promising the warlords heading the various nomadic tribes 80% of the booty they could capture they swept away these empires in a couple of decades. The butchery was incredible as we see today in the muslim world and we are letting millions of muslims into our world. With the left defending islam and muslims it is not just possible but probable we could see our own collapse very quickly.
    In canvassing with my MP last weekend we went through an apartment building on Thorncliffe Dr., which is a heavy muslim area. The apartment was filled with muslims in their hijabs and burkas, a great number we spoke to were not Canadian citizens and would be on welfare. A friend’s buddy works in one of these apartments and they are always cleaning up garbage just thrown off the balconies. Thorncliffe has the largest public school in NA with 2,000 students, over 80% muslims.

    True but they are building those fences across their neighbors property (in dispute) and the USA has promised to maintain a status quo. The leadership in the US has never been weaker since Carter and the Chinese know it. I strongly believe we will be tested within the next 18 months.

  21. China has border disputes with India, Bhutan, Vietnam, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, Brunei, and the Philippines.
    I guess America’s military strength has nothing to do with China nor militarily exerting all its claims. They’s just nice folks.

    BTW: In New Jersey it was common that the majority of Fire fighters were Volunteers & in NC volunteer Police officers.
    The Large civil service is a resent development, most likely started in California and spread like oozing crud..

  26. Before WWII Canada had 3,000 soldiers and 60,000 reservists. Now we’ve got 60,000 soldiers and 10,000 reservists. The bloated, slug infested, bureaucracy that is the military hates reservists. They work for just about nothing and are useless for building empires. Give them bullets and and a few pyrotechnics and they would miss their daughter’s wedding to blow something up. Mind you, I hear that reservists today spend all their time in deballing classes being taught what pigs they are with the girls.

    I thought the message was strong, that Americans aren’t considered the greatest because they no longer are, if they ever really were, and have given back much of what did make them “great.” Why must you shoot the messenger?

    At least Harper is trying to rebuild the forces that the Liberals did their best to destroy but we still have a way to go. We still have more Generals than Tanks and are still unable to put a single Division into the field on short notice.
