We dont need no stinkin Greenpeace going around in their garbage scows Rainbow Warrior II and Arctic Sunrise nor do we need them in their stupid zodiacs harrasing others and we dont need stupid AL GORE,DAVID SUZUKI or ROBERT KENNEDY Jr they all need to just GO AWAY and add that nit wit PAUL EHRLICH in there as well

And what about the 65,000 billion BTUs that are consumed before they’re produced? Oh yeah, that must be the latent heat of bloviation yet to come from the warmist thermomongers.

I’m not clear on this. Perhaps someone will explain it to me. BTU stands for British Thermal Unit. This is a measure of heat. Fuels such as oil, coal, gas and nuclear are used to boil water and produce steam to drive an electrical generator. These fuels can be said to contain X number of BTUs per unit.
Hydro and wind drive turbines without using steam. Solar panels create electricity directly (although there are also solar boilers). What kind of formula converts these into BTUs?

The AGW mongers only want various taxation schemes on crude oil, coal and natural gas which will provide trillions of dollars in ‘skimming’ the pot for all and sundry governmental programs to ‘serve the public’…cough, cough.
This would be the equivalent of taxing horses in the 18th and 19th century, when they are your prime movers of the economy.
As if fuels aren’t taxed enough already under the current structure, a large dose of environmental guilt as justification, for more taxation to create a greater drag on an anemic economy won’t help.

A joule is the Metric System unit of energy. It is the amount of energy needed to move a force of one Newton through a distance of one meter.
If you do one joule’s worth of work every second, you are expending one watt of power, which is also the effect if you use one amp of electricity across one volt of potential.
Your electrical bill involves how many kilowatt-hours of energy you used. Using one thousand watts for one hour is a killowatt-hour.
One BTU is equivalent to just over 1055 joules.
One BTU is equivalent to just over 0.000293 kilowatt-hours.

Sure, there is always fossil fuel in storage, one of its huge advantages over wind and solar which to date have not been stored effectively. The huge solar thermal plant at Gila Bend, AZ can store solar thermal for (are you sitting down??) for 6 hours. Not very handy in a cold northern climate.
So when consumption exceeds production it means that stored reserves are being used up.

Or Bend- Take- Up- your scrotum the idea that wind, solar, bio-fuels will save the planet.
We had to take solar panels off our house because gas was cheaper than an electric pump, and it doesn’t leak heated water into the attic insulation and carpets.
