How the Democrats Win

It doesn’t matter what was actually in the bill. The fact that every Senate Republican voted against it likely means that it was an horrific piece of legislation that should have never seen the light of day. But in the game of Political Chess, the Democrats seem to be several moves ahead of the Republicans. Is there any possible way for the GOP to successfully combat these tactics?

  1. This is not how Democrats win. If it was, the 2010 sweep of Congress and various governorships and state legislatures would have never happened. Dems win mainly because Republicans suck. The GOP had power from 2000-2006 and they did a terrible job with the full support of their idiotard base (see ‘CPC’ for the sequel). The GOP had it on a platter in 2012 so they nominated…Romney. A candidate so bad he ran a worse campaign than McCain. Oh yeah, the GOP also actually nominated McCain, who seriously chose PALIN as his running mate. Not hard to see why they keep losing.
Instead of singing ‘woe is me’ and blaming their faults upon slights by an endless array of enemies, some of which are obviously made up (the gay lobby, The Media Party, etc), conservatives should dry up, shut up, think, and stop shooting themselves in the foot.

  2. Democrats propose bills knowing the Republicans are too responsible to vote for them, so the Republican should do the exact same. Propose bills that have a nice selling point, and then if the Dems vote against it just say: “The Democrats just voted against ________.”

  3. Response graphic: “If the Obama administration is so concerned about pay equity, why wait for a bill to raise female staffers’ wages?”

  4. 2008 was when more people, including conservatives, were unfamiliar with Obama’s true nature.
If McCain hadn’t chosen Palin as a running mate, a lot more conservatives would have stayed home. Palin might not have been a perfect candidate – who is? – but between the two, McCain posed a much bigger problem to the base.
As I recall, Palin ran for governor on a platform of cleaning up corruption in Alaskan politics, and followed through – particularly in the corrupt Alaskan GOP. This is undoubtedly one of the reasons the establishment GOP dislike her so much. If not Palin, we at least need another candidate with a proven ability and willingness to clean house.

  5. This will just be grist for the mill in the Democrat’s fevered imaginary ‘war on women’…
If it were not so transparently farcical, Harry Reid would be holding a bake sale.

  6. I agree that McCain was a much bigger problem than Palin, but she is no bright light and her cult following today is bizarre. Her dealings with oil companies would have made Hugo Chavez smile. She also built a bridge to nowhere.

  7. For me Palin was the star. She was the hope that the USA needed to stop the decline and fall of America. Nobody, nobody can replace Obumbles as the worst president ever.

  8. And who would, in your opinion, have been a better running mate than PALIN?
I’d say MCCAIN was the liability on that ticket.

  9. I’ll vote to close the ‘wage’ gap when women vote to close the ‘death in the workplace’ gap. Men=92% Women=8%

  10. I’m talking pragmatically, BTW. People loved PALIN. MCCAIN was trying to lose.
Nice hijacking of the thread, though.

  11. Sarah Palin didn’t build it, she supported it initially, then voted against it and campaigned against it. It’s never been built, although a road to it was started, it wasn’t completed either.
It was the federal congress that had voted to include it as an earmark, then canceled it at Palin and others request. The contract to build the road was signed prior to her becoming governor.
Hugo Chavez wouldn’t have smiled for the deals Sarah Palin made with the oil companies in Alaska, they are encouraged to succeed, while everything in Venezuela that Chavez has touched is ruined. Everything.
Sarah for the most part writes her own speeches, and is able to speak in an engaging manner and without notes. If the bar for being a “bright light” is the current idiot in chief regarding public speaking (reading a teleprompter) as an example, she’s a genius.

  12. Of course the GOP voted against Obama’s grandstanding.
It’s already against the law to pay less to anyone based on gender.

  13. Where did the GOP blame “the gay lobby” for anything?
Or is this just another gay faking “victim” hoax?

  14. The Democrats win by playing to the ten-second attention span of the low-information voter. They know that the majority of voters will read only the headline and no further. Add in the willingness of the lame-stream media to cover for them and their tendency to vote the graveyard and it’s no surprise that they win elections.

  15. Besides Newt Gingrich; Sarah Palin is the only politician in either country who can articulate the conservative point of view in layman’s terms; but without Newt’s personal baggage. She intuitively knows what she stands for; and does not wait for the polls to make her decisions. She is the closest thing to Regan this generation will have the opportunity get behind.
Sarah Palin is not “dim”; she is the most articulate political speaker there is today. Sarah Palin can pack more punch in fewer words than ANYONE else. Period!
    Examples:
“Death Panels” – these 2 words have been and are the most impactful statement/words ever uttered in opposition to Obamacare.
“After the Russian army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama’s reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence – the kind of response that would only encourage Russia’s Putin to invade Ukraine next,” – the quote speaks for itself
“Obama wears Mom Pants” – I suspect that of all things said about Obama; this comment most of all irks the President because it describes the exact image that everyone(supporters and opponents) have in their minds of him(even Michelle); and he knows it.
In summation, I suspect it is SP who is being dim; as he’s drank the kool-aid and has in his mind disqualified the only “leader” the GOP has in their ranks. This is a microcosm of the real problem with the GOP.

  16. For some reason I can’t find the quote; but it goes like this:
“Socialism is the religion of the stomach”
The Democrats understand this; and thus throw the folks ‘red meat’ like they are a pack of dogs. A pack of dogs cares not about nuance; they have this in common with Sheeple.
We must take control of the education of our kids away from the communists and the teacher’s unions; THAT is how the GOP and conservatives must fight back.

    *typo corrected*

  18. “Is there any possible way for the GOP to successfully combat these tactics?”
No. Because the Republican Party is composed of idiots and ward heelers jealously protecting their little slice of the perks due the Official Opposition.
The Tea Party will have to take over the Republican Party just like the commies took over the DemocRat Party in 1968. Then the hippy punching will commence. Verbally, of course. I meant verbally. Of course I did. Verbally. Absolutely.

  19. Sarah Palin worked with Alaskan Dems to loot profitable oil companies for billions. This caused immediate damage to the economy and was part of a generally bad tax policy.
    http://articles.latimes.com/2011/jun/11/news/la-pn-palin-oil-tax-20110611
While Palin was willing to fight Alaskan GOP corruption, she also spent tons of money on nonsense while mayor and governor. Poor record.
    http://www.cato.org/blog/gov-sarah-palins-record-taxes-spending
Besides Newt Gingrich; Sarah Palin is the only politician in either country who can articulate the conservative point of view in layman’s terms
If those two are your best hope, best give up now.
    She intuitively knows what she stands for;
Which is what exactly? Smaller government-except when she’s in charge: Alaskan government expenditures only increased during her time as governor.
She is the closest thing to Regan this generation will have the opportunity get behind.
If this were true it would be equal parts terrifying and depression. Thanks to the existence of Randal Paul, Justin Amash, and Thomas Massie in Congress it isn’t.
The Palin Defense Squad is a good example of why the GOP, and conservatism more broadly, fails and will always fail. Unthinking attachment to principals over principle, just like with the left, but the principals are lousier political operators. They are only good at getting the base excited with boilerplate buzzwords.

  20. According to Fox News Political Insiders for the last several months the Republicans don’t want to win.

  21. Black Mamba: I too came to feel that McCain threw the fight.
And remember his statement that the Obamas were a nice family? I believe Romney did this too.
Can we, in our wildest dreams, imagine a Dem making such a conciliatory statement about an opponent.
The GOP is not called the Stupid Party for nothing!
Ben Shapiro had a good piece up recently about the Dems’ undisputed genius at running narratives, aka lying. He contrasted their simple lying messages with Paul Ryan’s wonkish attempts to balance the budget while waving around a 100 page document with which very few voters will engage.
And he mentioned Obama’s ingenious narrative: “Why do Republicans try to keep folks from having health care?” That’s very effective messaging.
And yes to the comment above about the “war on women” (TM).
It was so utterly baseless that the GOP didn’t deal with it, assuming that most sentient persons would know it was patently bogus. NOT.

  22. Ahhh. The typical liberal/socialist cherry picker. But what about the ‘invade Ukraine’ statement. Oh. Total silence on that eh.? Yep. Typical. No comeback lets change the subject…go off on another tangent.
The liberals were absolutely frightened of Palin….terrified. So they put together a campaign to destroy her. Even picking on a disabled kid(but of course that’s only what republicans do eh?). They also put forth the lie that she said she could see Russia from her house. Except that was an SNL skit of a useless liberal twit actress and quite incompetent ‘comedienne’.
Yet…to this day many liberals/socialists still use that quote as hers. That basically sums up how stupid all liberal/socialists are — including you. But keep on trolling. It keeps us intelligent people aware that idiots such as yourself are still out there spouting your drivel. That keeps us vigilant. Thank you.

  23. dude your entire diatribe is rubbish I said none of that stuffyou project towards me. I talked about Sarah Palin being articulate and my belief that she can attract new voters to the GOP because she can discuss the issues that are important do conservatives in a way that people understand.
your so called reply is nothing but a preconceived rant that you whipout
    any opportunity you get.
    you are a player hater.

  24. “Is there any possible way for the GOP to successfully combat these tactics?”
No. The population of the US gets more third worldish with every immigrant that arrives and they always vote for the party that promises to take from the ‘rich’ and give to them. That in a nutshell is what attracts ignorant people to socialism. The GOP will eventually realize that is the constituency they have to work with.

  25. The GOP and Canada’s Conservatives keep getting sucked in.
They try to appeal to the demographic portrayed by the MSM, as the middle ground.
So they pretend to stand for nothing.
Until they do stand for nothing.
Then they attempt to negotiate with the parasites(progressives), always with results detrimental to society.
    Parasites cannot be negotiated with.
Finally we arrive where we are now, stripped of property rights, robbed blind by state empowered thieves and lorded over by elected and appointed royalty.
As inbred and idiotic as any aristocracy from the past.
Finally a conservative gets elected to do a job.
A libtard sees election as a career.
The bureaucracy never stops stealing, if its not money, its power or freedom.
Seems to me we are accelerating toward a rerun of the French revolution.
Who needs a guillotine ? We have wind “generators”, tip speed exceeding 200mph on a good wind day.

  26. The democrats do what they have to do to keep their voters voting. That’s all that cartoon is about. They are not even trying to convince republicans at all and save a great deal of time an money as a result. At the right time they unleash a voter suppression campaign with an aim to demoralise and stir trouble within their opponents ranks. That’s where elections are won and lost. That’s where we need to be ready to fight, sooner rather than later.

  27. “…Socialism is the religion of the stomach. …”
Socialism is the ideology of those who favour the poor and the oppressed. That’s why Socialists always make more people poor and oppress them.

  28. How do conservatives win?
    Look at poor hapless Hudack.
A few weeks ago he looked doomed.
Then he grew a pair and called out the Church Lady McWynnty for the lying hag that she is.
    She threatened a libel suit.
    Timmy stood firm.
    Presto chango!
PCs now well ahead in the polls…
Who’d da thunk Hudack had it?

  29. “Is there any possible way for the GOP to successfully combat these tactics?”
Yes, it should explain the facts, namely that the alleged “wage gap” between all men versus all women is a non-issue because it’s dependent on the types of jobs people individually choose to do, the desire they individually have to rise to higher levels in their workplaces, the number of hours they individually choose to work (to whatever extent they have a choice), and so on.
The only possible application of “fairness” is that a man and a woman working for the same company doing approximately the same job with the same degree of competence should be paid approximately the same salary. That’s it. Anything further is just another leftist power grab.

  30. You know how dumb you are? You are so dumb that you accused me of cherrypicking right before you engaged in cherry-picking. You can’t engage any of my points so we get the usual blather about socialists and Ukraine and the like.
Palin was right about Ukraine but she’s still one of the idiots that wants America to ‘stand up’ to Russia for Ukraine, as if that were America’s job. She still wants an expansive money-pit foreign policy. I’m still right.

  31. The other reason the GOP keeps losing is because they say stupid things and that makes it easier for the DNC-media to destroy them ie ‘legitimate rape’, any part of Palin’s awful iinterview with Kouric. The GOP keeps fronting inarticulate buffoons like Palin and inarticulate cavemen like Akin. Also, you have to drop all that anti-gay marriage ad anti-immigration crap on the spot. My generation is not interested in ‘tradition’ or xenophobia and for very good reason. The other other reason the GOP keeps losing is that they stand for not much. Snowden should be a hero to a party of freedom but he isn’t to the GOP.

  32. The democrats will do anything to deflect attention from the dismal job they have done on the economy and obamacare before the elections at the end of this year. They desperately need something…….anything, as long as it’s a divisive issue that will bring in the female vote. It’s a red herring that will have no traction unless the GOP blunder into making it a issue. Perhaps a good time to remind women that it was the Republican party that banned slavery and gave women the vote.

  33. 1. What much of your generation is or isn’t interested in goes no further than immediate gratification in the context of safe collectivist conformity. Liberterianists.
    2. Snowden should be shot.

  34. now I know you are a buffoon because you played the “my generation” card like you speak for everyone in your generation
first you put words in my mouth then you put words in the mouth of your so called generation
    speak for yourself buddy
by the way what generation would that be, baby boomers? with a name like spinal tap you can’t be under 40,and you definitely don’t speak for Millennials

  35. I’m not speaking for anyone I’m just making statements based on my experiences that are backed by the poll numbers. Stop trying to spin it. They like gays, gay marriage, and Snowden. Not into religiosity, homophobia or anything that looks like it, or the surveillance state. Snowden and the surveillance state would make a great wedge issue given that Obama has owned expanded and defended it so I’m sure they’ll screw that up.

  36. … and every Republican voted against the Affordable Care Act, too, that as it turns out had nothing to do with ‘care’ or it being ‘affordable’. ‘Equal Pay for Women’ just might end up being something quite different than what some folks are thinking.

  37. Spinal Tap, seriously, shut up.
Can the Democrats give a good reason why everyone is equal and, therefore, deserving of equal pay? Like the salaryman who has put twenty years into a company and the whippersnapper who has put in none? Or the woman who will inevitably go on maternity leave forcing the employer to find a replacement and let her re-join the workplace at full pay and ranking? Or the female Democrat staffer who works for much less than a man (hat tip: minute man’s wife)?

  38. Oh,yeah. Don’t forget that republicans want dirtier air, want old people to die, children to go hungry, and puppies to be beaten. Can’t believe some people actually believe this stuff.

  39. Spinal Tap…..that’s one thing ( probably the only) that the muzzies get right…..God did not make all men equal.
If’n ya do think so, just you get in the ring with Mike Tyson.

  40. “Is there any possible way for the GOP to successfully combat these tactics?”
    Yes.
Both Republicans and Democrats claim to believe in and support the idea of equality.
For Republicans: Equality means all people having the same opportunity to use the gifts they were born with to get ahead in life.
For Democrats: Equality means all people having the same result in life, regardless of their gifts or even if they use their gifts at all or even if they don’t bother to get out of bed.
It’s simple enough to explain these different views in a 30 second political commercial.
    >I thought they win by voter fraud.

    This is how Democrats win.
    http://www.examiner.com/article/what-if-your-vote-did-not-count
Election fraud must be overcome first or there is no point in getting out of bed or making a good political commercial.

  41. Right, and the
    ,
    52 Million on Food Stamps
    19 Million on Disability
    12 Million Free Cell Phones
10 Million Absentee Ballots from ACORN
    ,
didn’t have a thing to do with it ?

  42. read your comments again.
nothing but pre-conceived rants, links, and projection.

  43. I get it. You can’t argue against my points and are butthurt. You don’t have to print it on your virtual forehead.

  44. The GOP is split. In my view, it’s time for the old guard, such as John McCain and Lindsey Graham, to retire. They’re not reliable. The Republicans who can win are members of the Tea Party, such as Rand Paul, Mike Lee, Ted Cruz, or maybe David Webb. Fresh blood, with principles. John McCain is all over the map.

  45. The Evil Party wins because they represent the culture that dominates the landscape. They can put forward any variant of legislation that promises to deliver apple pie, ponies and ferry dust and they get a pass because that sounds good to the mindless who have been pimped into slavery. The Stupid Party is a coalition of social conservatives, centrists, independents and libertarians, collectively representing a mushy centrist progressive-lite alternative, a compromise of evil and virtue (fascism and liberty).
