Progressives turned out Saturday, International Women’s Day, for an old-school rally. The New York State Nurses’ Association was there, as was the NAACP’s state branch, as was SEIU Local 1199, as was City Councilman Ben Kallos.
They had signs, chants and guitars. Were they protesting sex trafficking? Or income inequality? No, they were outraged that a billionaire who happens to be very conservative has given $100 million to New York-Presbyterian Hospital.

When BC’s (born in Saskatchewan)billionaire philanthropist Jimmy Pattison donated 30 million to build a cancer clinic, he too was reviled by the usual suspects, most of whom don’t have any charity in their hearts at all.

Progressives believe that it is obscene that some people are so wealthy that they get to decide how best to spend their own money on charities of their own choice. In their world it is the collective, represented by one of their own who makes such decisions, usually in a manner involving politics that reinforces their own power. As PM Thatcher said to their ilk in the House, “you’d raather the poor became poorer than the rich richer”.
They particularly hate the Kochs’ because as libertarian supporters they want to “take over” so that they can leave everyone alone. That’s an awful threat to looters and thugs who exist to continuously pimp the mindless into statist slavery.
Read a couple of posters and you realize how far we in the west have regressed.

Progs only revile the wealthy if they don’t align themselves with their pet causes or supply the progs with their favorite toys or entertainment. How often do you hear them attacking people like Oprah, Hollywood leftist celebs, Steve Jobs, etc. Wealth is only, (& always) ill gotten if it belongs to a conservative.
Hell, you don’t even hear them whinging about the Shiny Pony’s inheritance, which to the braindead progs is normally the ne plus ultra of pirated spoils.

People used to donate to Quebec hospitals but the english hospitals were far and away receiving most of the donations. The gubmint “fixed it” so any donations went into a general fund for hospitals and people pretty much stopped giving. Progs prefer death and suffering where ever possible.
That’s likely true for many progressives but for the hard-cores, I think they consider their wealthy compatriots useful idiots that will eventually have to be done away with. It wouldn’t be the first time.

I’ve got this one pegged. They want the government to do everything. They want the government to tax That $$$ from Koch and use it for hospitals/health care cause they know government does everything better. They’re socialists and probably have a government job. Government is everything to them and don’t you know the government is supposed to take care of us cause we’re too stupid and weak to take care of ourselves?

Just as Feminism provided a justification for unfulfilled and neurotic women, progressivist “ethical protest” provides an outlet for maladjusted, values- conflicted people. The axe grinders you see at these public encounter group therapy episodes (AKA protests) are usually the most uninformed deeply traumatized pathetic creatures imaginable – I really don’t understand why the MSM gives them a podium to convey their psychosis to the rest of us well adjusted folk, but I suppose the old “if it bleeds it leads” reflex is still active in the denatured MSM.
