  1. There are few seekers of truth in today’s world. There was a time when your word was your bond. What agencies exist in today’s world that still promotes critical thinking and moral values? Youth since the ’60’s have been taught by progressives who see no value in such thoughts. Sadly those who should have defended society have either stood aside or done a poor job of explaining what was being lost.
There have always been politicans like Obama or P.E. Turdeau but their influence is exaggerated by a not so subtle effort to disenfranchise citizens who no longer realize or appreciate what they are losing.

  2. Yes, Obamba has truly turned out to be a magic Negro.
World history proves that tyranny not freedom & democracy is the rule, and not the exception.
America’s “exceptionalism” is a very dim light today, most certainly a useless beacon sabotaged by useful idiots.

  3. The information age has become the disinformation age..
A good idea, a simple truth has to be able to get its rear end through the door.. In its way there is the full gambit of special interest groups, using every technological advancement known to man to block the way..
Think of WW1 with old world military tactics going up against modern weapons.. No matter what the tactics you could not overwhelm the technology..
Honest politicians float a good idea and it gets torn to shreds.. Decent bureaucrats float a good idea and it gets torn to shreds.. Social media to politics is the machine gun to WW1..
Seeing as its near impossible to get anything done in a honest forthright way, I dont blame modern politicians for at least finding a way (disinformation) to uphold the appearance of sound government..
Im not sure democracy can survive the disinformation age..

  4. Good analysis of modern politics by Will.
I really think the 2 million fewer FTE jobs means more feedom will be one for the ages. A quote that defines the entire political era. The message: The ability to quit being a working, self-reliant individual and, instead, live off government programs paid for via the taxes of working people is akin to Braveheart’s cry of “FREEDOM”.

  5. will got it wrong about the civil war..
    lee did surrender…
    his troops….
    the fighting continued until
    the other rebel troops disbanded..
after a last ditch battle in Texas..
and the south won that one..

  6. Honest and quality journalism would present facts as they are and argue from them towards their conclusion.
The current “Media Party” choose who or what they support and then try to shoehorn the facts to fit their ideology. When they don’t fit(e.i global warming, gun control, identity politics et al) they either ignore them or make up “magic numbers” out of thin air.
A major tenet of the Scientific Method is to be able to postulate what facts or findings would falsify the hypothesis or theory being argued for(Prof. Karl Popper). The utopian totalitarians always ignore that. It gives them away.

  7. Obama’s handlers aren’t stupid and a lot more feral
or perhaps more clever than Stalin and his crowd.
But their end game is a totalitarianism 20th century
Communist rulers could only dream about

  8. Speaks to character I guess, as CT says from your word is your bond to all false promises to the infidel are permissible.
The magic man, with magic phone and pen, is the token of our times.
After magical thinking fails, collapse and curtailment of trade follow, wealth shrinks.
Trade is only possible with trust.
    Civilization cannot exist without it.
So these political creatures, voluntarily nonproductive one and all, are parasites.
When in positions of power, they seek to fatten themselves and protect themselves from the public reaction to their theft.
Look at our politicians, they have succeeded.
We live in a society were productive behaviour is punished(Taxed, regulated, appropriated)
Where nonproductive activity is promoted, thieves are promoted, liars rewarded, even terrorism is OK.
It is war on the taxpayer, by those who infest our civic structures.
    Governance by thieves for thieves.
THis kleptocracy is only possible with the connivence of the watchdogs.
Funny how stupid and ugly these wanna be world rulers are.
How do you steal, that which is not produced?

  9. They’ve confused this passage from “The Mikado” with reality:
“When the Mikado says, “Let a thing be done,” it’s as good as done. Practically, it IS done because your will is law.” “Yes, if you say to execute a fellow, why that fellow is as good as dead.” “Practically, he IS dead… so why not say so?”
They’re also really, really good at “…corroborative detail, intended to lend artistic verisimilitude to an otherwise bald and unconvincing narrative”.

  10. Obama is not a Negro in the American, nor I think biological, sense. Most American Negroes have been duped by a 1/2 white, 1/4 African, 1/4 Arab sweet-talker who doesn’t give a toss about them.
Unlike their ancestors, his ancestors never experienced transportation and slavery, except perhaps from the slaver’s side of the business.
But for the left, it’s all about skin color.

  11. It is a great column. Too bad that the last three sentences popped the balloon:

“Many of the words and numbers bandied by Obama and his administration may reflect an honest belief that the world is whatever well-intentioned people like them say about it. So, Obama’s critics should reconsider their assumption that he is cynical. It is his sincerity that is scary.”

First of all, I don’t believe that Obama, or Pelosi, or Wasserman-Schultz, or any of the rest of them have an “honest belief” that the world is whatever they say it is; each of their utterances to that effect are part of a dishonest “watch-the-hand” MO that they know is dishonest; it’s just partisan propaganda to them, and they know they can get away with because it tends to be dispensed, as-is, to low-information voters by the water-carriers in the complicit legacy media.
Secondly, those who understand just how profoundly cynical Obama is should not “reconsider their assumption” that he is cynical, because it’s not an assumption, its an observation of something that’s very real, and in-your-face.
Finally, wrt the notion that “it is (Obama’s) sincerity that is scary”, he is the most insincere human being imaginable. I think he may well be a sociopath; he certainly tells bigger lies with a straighter face (e.g. “If you like your health insurance, you can keep your health insurance”) more often than any public figure in living memory.
    “World-class bullshit artist” ≠ “Sincere”.
