A Bloggies Award Goes Horribly Wrong

Mischief is important.

Last year the Best Science or Technology Weblog category was dominated entirely by climate science blogs, and 4 of the 5 were skeptics. Not surprisingly Watts Up won for the third time (congrats to Anthony). Tellingly, Skeptical Science withdrew even though the skeptics vote would have been split. (I guess they know their traffic stats.)
This year, the bloggies has quietly announced “Best Science or Technology Weblog has been discontinued”. Ho hum? Have the organizers succumbed to political correctness for fear of letting skeptics win the award again? Seems so.
Now we could lodge a protest, or we could just nominate our favourite blogs for other categories…

Nominations close on Sunday evening.

  1. Seriously, they pressured the bloggies to cancel the category because their rivals kept winning. My god the consensus science crowd are childish. What’s next, calling skeptics poopyheads and shooting spitballs at them?
I’d suggest the categories of politics, topical and education as replacements for science and technology.

  2. If the Bloggies are that feeble and corrupt, why bother nominating anyone for anything. Clearly these folks are the enemy. Don’t feed the crocodiles. Mock them out … perhaps start a similar contest … maybe call it the Honest Bloggies. But then, honesty is no longer a value, it is an impediment. Oh well …. the revolution is coming …. isn’t it?

  3. I was going to put Kate in best Canadian Blog. But before I do so, is that what everyone else is doing? I don’t want to put my vote in the wrong place.

  4. Miachief is important.
I was stumped for a third choice for “Best Canadian blog”. This site and Blazing Car Fur are the head and shoulders of Canadian blogs.
The buttocks would have to be “justinforpm”. The politically correct crowd would likely support it on name only, which would be both fitting and horribly wrong.

  5. Progressive dirt-bags are taking their ball and going home.. If they don’t get to win, nobody does..
Its typical really coming from such dishonest activists.. Pull a little money out the front door or slip a little money in the back door..
Nobody really cares about your participation medal.. Except that WUWT thorn that keeps digging in.. Spanked by your own measuring stick, might have daddy looking for the frying pan cord..
    This is some bad PR..

  6. Really there is no choice but to skew their entire process.. I will take the time to place my vote where it will do the most harm to their intended message..

  7. ” skew their entire process ”
Yes (please excuse the shameless self-promotion), and nominating the website “justinfor pm” would skew well the Canadian part of the contest.
Many ‘progressives’ would vote for it on name only, sort of like how they would vote for JT because of his looks and his locks.
The site is not pro-JT, not at all.

While you are there, SDA fits well into that category.
    Do it for the children.

  8. I can’t it’s to much to long Ect Ect….I don’t know enough to fill out everything so I’ll pass but Kate sda blazing cat fur five feet of fury captain capitalism , micheal savage, the blazr ,brietbart , drudge ,wuwt, climate depot , you all get my vote.

  9. As always, my vote for “the bestest blog in the world” will go the the great Warren Kinsella.
I’d vote for Shaidle but she doesn’t allow comments on her blog so I can’t tell her openly how I adore her.

  10. Let me just reiterate my everlasting gratitude for Small Dead Animals and the empirical talking points it brought to my intuitive climate skepticism. The commie relatives on the left coast faint at the sight of my Facebook posts.
