  1. I’ll confess to wanting to appear there myself once upon a time, hopefully by using meager amount of talent.
Rolling Stone is frantically trying to regain relevancy by this pathetic display and if they ask me now, I’ll almost certainly refuse. Maybe.

  2. Yeah,I used to read RS but haven’t in 30 years. RS’s audience grew up and abandoned them so they have to try “shock” journalism to sell a few papers.
This cover is a disgrace to Dr.Hook’s great old song. Wenner needs a firm kick where it hurts.

  3. Incredibly inappropriate. I have always thought, from the first photos, that he resembled Bob Dylan. I never cared for Dylan.
So this guy gets the cover, and these guys never will.

  4. Of much more interest is the Rolling Stone reporter who had a big story to break in the CIA who had a mysterious car accident which is being kept hush hush from inquiring reporters.
As for this Boston bombing patsy, I’ll lay odds he never sees a public trial.

  5. “But others suggest a more Holden Caulfield-like adolescent alienation…”
    That’s deep man
    Like,
When a body hits a body
    Flying through the sky
    Man.
When artsy leftard intellectuals fight they try to out Holden Caulfield each other.
Because they care so much and are dumber than 13 year old disturbed 5th avenue children without parents.
Rolling Stone wants more mass murderers like CNN wants a race riot.

  6. I was going to wade in and comment, not too certain on what to say.. just paused a bit to see the Twitchy feed and found this…
    http://twitchy.com/2013/07/17/go-to-hell-disturbed-vocalist-david-draiman-destroys-ultra-liberal-rolling-stone-in-epic-rant/
“I used to dream of making the cover of Rolling Stone magazine, as it used to be the ultimate statement of legitimacy for an aspiring musician and it meant that you had really made it. Over the past 5 years, Rolling Stone has become less and less about music, and has become more and more about bullshit, pop culture nonsense. Even though many of us may not care for it, we were able to live with it…until this.”
Then, he tells us how he really feels…

  7. If the MSM didn’t support Islamization, it wouldn’t be the problem it is.
The Islamists have declared war, and the MSM have taken sides. Just not our side.

  8. Rolling Stone originated and is still published in San Francisco. Need I say more?

  9. America is a very sick society at the moment.
Who’ll be on the next cover? Paul Bernardo? Jeffrey Dahmer?

  10. If one really wishes to demonise Tsarnaev, tell everyone he is a practising Catholic, against gay marriage or George Zimmerman (at least a white Hispanic). That seems to work these days.
We shouldn’t expect much from the morally and intellectually shallow popular press.

  11. Besides running a fluff story on the Boston patsy, they also seen suspiciously uninterested in the mysterious death of their reporter Michael Hastings, who said he was being trailed by fed spooks because he was breaking a story in CIA corruption. They will probably just as uninterested when this bombing dupe kid, never makes it to a public trial.
Just another day in Commissar Bam Bam’s police state.

  12. CVS pharmacies across the country will not sell the latest edition of Rolling Stone magazine that features a controversial cover photo of Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, CNN reported Wednesday.
    Good on them,
I am sure more will jump on board..

  13. Is it me or does this picture remind a Canadian of Justin Trudeau? Methinks that the results of a Liberal win would probably yield the same end result.

  14. Charlton Heston said it best when the big monkeys had him in the net in Planet of the Apes. “this damned world is upside down”.
It truly is. The monkeys are running wild starting right in the white house and on down to the street slime led by Sharpton and Jackson and cheered on by the DOJ where one of the big monkeys presides and persecutes whitey.

  15. same hairdo as the shiney pony.
I think they are both terribly effeminate , Justin Bieber looks tougher
the tingles up the MSM legs are getting more than disturbing.

  16. RS hasn’t been a player in decades. They had some relevance years ago when PJ O’Rourke and that stable of hip writers were being published… that’s old schtick today.
So now it’s the Boston patsy and when the loco magneto trial starts they will have him on the cover in one of his various homo poses. They probably assigned a reporter to go in depth months ago. zzzzzzzzzz……….

  17. Let see 3 dead, around 20 or so limbless, and approximately 264 injured in various forms, not to mention dead and injured police, and the RS needs to have this idiot on the cover…?
RS now reader tripe for the functionally insane or values challenged, and a cover suitable for target practice.
    Cheers
    Hans Rupprecht, Commander in Chief
    1st Saint Nicolaas Army
    Army Group “True North”

  18. The NDP/ Liberal Party most likely wants him to seek political asylum in Canada. Next get Harper to hand over a million in compensation, then tour the Uni talk circuit with Omar Kahdr and the Blind Sheik.
Of course with the hair piece in tow helping collect money like an organ grinders monkey.

  19. Fascinating, this one outlet has done more research into Jahar than all of the left-wing media did into Obama in 2 presidential campaigns.
Some days it makes a person wonder where their head is at.

  20. We can only hope that some inattentive prison guard forgets to keep the little dear separate from the regular rabble.

  21. I dunno what the big deal is – it’s just liberal media scum being liberal media scum.
The Globe and Mail fellates terrorists and their liberal enablers all the time.
Screw them – I ain’t buying their rag sheets until they start publishing something worth reading.

  22. So I guess you guys missed the part of the cover where they called him a “Monster”?
Has any person here actually read the story?

  23. You’ll also notice that they mention that the arctic is melting. So RS does, like, science and junk too.

  24. Why, John, would RS celebrate a “Monster”? ‘Cause that’s what they’re doing by putting this languid photo of him on the cover of their sorry excuse of a magazine. Calling him a monster is a great way to sell mags in this sick, horror-saturated, society.
My greatest beef with RS, aside from putting this POS on their cover and romanticizing the SOB, is that they say Tsarnaev “fell into Radical Islam.”
    EXCUSE ME?
Tsarnaev chose to go to the dark side. He chose to make those bombs. He chose to place them strategically so they would wound, maim, and kill as many people as possible in order for him and his brother to make a “radical Islamist” statement. He chose to be a terrorist.
The idea that he “fell into Radical Islam” is so typical of progressives (sic): Poor kid. He “didn’t mean to do it.” He “forgot” that blowing people up isn’t a nice thing to do. It was “an accident.”
Human beings are moral agents. Human beings make decisions about right and wrong. Nineteen-year-old human beings are more than capable of deciding whether or not they’re going to make bombs in order to murder and maim other human beings.
Whoever wrote that headline for the Rolling Stone cover is a moron and a moral pygmy.

  25. Actually, a lot of people get caught up in stupid stuff. It’s not an excuse, and nobody is looking for one. The point, I take it, from this article is to look for the reasons why it happens so we can prevent it. That’s generally something the Conservatives fail miserably at. They never ask “why?” and so are doomed to repeat history over and over again.
Putting somebody on a cover hardly “celebrates” them. People have a problem with this because the guy is probably considered good looking. Maybe if they drew horns on him or something?

  26. Never mind the dreamy looking jihadist to wet all the leftist laddies panties. Did anyone notice the Report from the front line of Climate Change on the cover?
By the way I thought he resembled Justin Trudeau too.

  27. “The point, I take it, from this article is to look for the reasons why it happens so we can prevent it.”
You are proceding from the false premise that problems like this can be solved or prevented. That’s the classic progressive delusion. Not all of them can be resolved, or just as bad from the point of view of your lot, have solutions that you are prepared to accept. When you say “prevent it” what you are really saying is by a method that suits the progressive agenda.
What you are also ignoring is that the cure may be worse than the disease. For example, are you prepared to have complete security at the expense of the government rifling through your mail and having complete information on all your financial transactions? Are you prepared to halt, say, domestic violence at the expense of government monitoring you with television cameras 24/7 in your home?

  28. “Actually, a lot of people get caught up in stupid stuff. It’s not an excuse, and nobody is looking for one. If the dribble above doesn’t prove John is a Turdough shill, then nothing will.
And actually CHECK history. Every failed, and failing country in the world was,or is,being governed by leftards.
The only thing we conservatives fail at is not showing up to riot against your scum. Could be maybe we are too busy working to pay for your social and “why” programs.

  29. A magazine displays a photo and clearly say he is a monster on the front page.
WOW, some people are really offended for nothing.
maybe his face should be pixelated or something. (you know like insects having sex)

  30. Would Paul Rose be a more acceptable photo?
They’re both terrorists, bomber types actually.

  31. Maybe the publisher is just hoping Tsarnaev will buy five copies for his mother.

  32. I got called a martyr by my mother
I even ran my car over my brother
Just to get my smiling face on the cover of the Rolling Stone.

  33. “The point, I take it, from this article is to look for the reasons why it happens so we can prevent it.”
Ehh. It sounds like a typical celebrity “friends say” piece to me – as in “friends say Jen is completely over Brad and is looking forward to becoming a mom”. Unless you tell me Judy Clarke had a hand in it, I suspect the interview is weak sauce and they need the cover to sell a conversation with some random friends from high school.
“That’s generally something the Conservatives fail miserably at. They never ask “why?” and so are doomed to repeat history over and over again.”
Tut tut – that’s not profiling I hope.
“Putting somebody on a cover hardly “celebrates” them.”
I don’t actually care that they ran it but that’s a glamour shot. It’s for to be shocking so Wenner can sell product. People are entitled to not like it.

  34. “The point, I take it, from this article is to look for the reasons why it happens so we can prevent it. That’s generally something the Conservatives fail miserably at. They never ask “why?” and so are doomed to repeat history over and over again.”
Yeah, we’re real dumb like that. But you know what would have prevented the Boston bombings, John? Not importing dodgy Muslim “refugees” in the first place.
And yes, putting Jahar Tsarnaev on the cover of Rolling Stone – a magazine which celebrates pop stars, Einstein – is certainly “celebrating” him. (I would say “and you know it” but I’m not sure you know anything much.) He has a considerable teen-girl-he’s-so-dreamy following. You’ll notice his brother isn’t on the cover.

  35. @ batb
“…to deliver a riveting and heartbreaking account of how a charming kid with a bright future became a monster.”
Oh boo hoo hoo. My heart aches for the poor little darling.
You so hit the nail on the head, batb.

  36. Agree wholeheartedly.
John and Justin have not figured it out yet that just sitting down and talking about root causes with the likes of Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, Mao and sundry other murderers, as well as members of the insidious Islamist terrorists doing their murderous work or infecting some disaffected youth will not stop them, but in fact will encourage them because we will be seen as weak.

  37. Actually, it’s conservatism that always fails. Conservatives fight against every single change that comes along. Women’s rights, Civil rights, Gay rights, the weekend, any sort of environmental regulations, regulations controlling tobacco, you name it, they fought it. And they lost.
“Yeah, we’re real dumb like that. But you know what would have prevented the Boston bombings, John? Not importing dodgy Muslim “refugees” in the first place.”
Nearly 2 million Muslims have immigrated to the US since the 90’s. And OMG… a few turned out to be terrorists. Therefore the other one million, nine hundred and ninety nine thousand, nine hundred and fifty should have been turned away as well.
If the US took that approach to every group that came to the US during its history, they never would have let anybody in. So yeah… yer real dumb like that.
Again… you guys are pooping your pants over a photo. A photo that was basically carried by every news service and blog on the planet. I bet if I go through this blog I’ll find photos of terrorists. I guess that means Kate is celebratin’ terrorism!!!!

  38. Cover of the Rolling Stone, as was true of a lot of the bigger Dr. Hook songs, was written by “Uncle Shelby,” Shel Silverstein. (Another of the big ones was the Johnny Cash hit Boy Named Sue.)

  39. I should have read all the comments first.
Batb says it well, in that this little terrorist wannabe chose to become a radical Islamist, chose to make bombs, just like Lenin, Stalin, Hitler et al chose to throw any human decency overboard and become mass murderers for a murderous ideology. It was not because is grandmother stubbed her toe on a curb. He had the same chance any other young man does to make a decent life for himself.
The hundred and some million people murdered during the last century by ideological mass murderers were not given a chance to continue making a decent life for themselves. Now another evil ideology wants to emulate them.
Sitting down, singing kumbaya and discussing root causes did not work well in the 1930s, and it will not work with the modern day emulators either.

  40. John, I remember trying to explain this to Davenport, who never comes around here no more. She was wrong about almost everything, but she had twice your IQ. Anyway here goes: not every innovation, amelioration or general improvement in the human condition since we lived in caves constitutes “liberalism” (i.e. leftism). You have no notion of political philosophy. From the post-renaissance onwards. At least. I mean I’m being really generous here. Could you maybe try reading some John Stuart Mill? He’s a very good writer, it wouldn’t be that painful. “Liberalism” essentially constitutes modern conservatism. Obviously it’s slightly more complicated than that, but not very. Your concept of “conservatism” seems to be an extreme form of reactionaryism (I’ll spell it as I want) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reactionary which is simply self serving and dumb.
Bugger off, go read something. Your teachers never taught you a damn thing. I guess that’s not your fault.
