Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Excellent! A candidate with a real sense of humor and some real opinions on the issues!
No wonder none of the Old Party types like him.
Mischa Popoff.
Is he married by chance to Wilmna Hedi Popoff?
Gets my Vote! If I lived there, that is…
Shame on you John Cummings! Who got to you? I will be watching this riding, Mischa would get my vote. No Bull.
Forgive me for saying so, sir, but that’s an awful lot of bull, isn’t it?
Hilarious! Love it, really hits the Bull’s Eye.
Heh, indeed

I’m not sure he is being bullied, but it sure looks like a bum steer to me.
Perfect example of bullying, put a raised fist brand on that pushy bovine.
Great video. And John Cummins should be ashamed of himself.
In BC it is looking like populist voices are unwanted, Only those able to spew out pre approved party talking points will be allowed . and this holds for all the parties,
All of the parties have shut down any opposition to the usual bull crap party platforms that we all know are morning after disposable.
There must be an end to party politics before it destroys democracy, what is the point of voting for a good local representative if he/she can be shut down and marginalized by party thugs.?
This is probably at the root of why voter turnout is dropping.
What you say needs repeating:
Excellent! A candidate with a real sense of humor and some real opinions on the issues!
No wonder none of the Old Party types like him.
Cummins probably is afraid of what happened to Wildrose in Alberta last election and doesn’t want anything resembling honesty from his candidates.
That was difficult to watch…but very creative and worth listening to. He made some excellent points!
Shame on Cummins…politically correct and down the drain.
I’m going to vote Conservative, despite our candidate not standing a chance… this is Nanaimo, after all. But I’m really ticked at Cummins and crew for not defending candidates who promote common sense but PC unpopular points of view. Single motherhood is something to be avoided, rather than encouraged and supported. Instead, it’s made to seem a morally neutral alternative lifestyle. That’s not to say that single mothers are necessarily lacking in morals – many are single by circumstance rather than by choice and that’s because too many men are themselves lacking in moral fibre and personal responsibility.
But PC is killing us. For example, the big foohferaw the NBA was making today about a homosexual player declaring his sexual preference. The right response would have been “yeah, so what”, which would have said to the world that we’re all equal and we accept your private choices. Instead, they make him a latter day hero – brave, courageous, and an example to kids and athletes everywhere – and again, elevate the lifestyle from being an alternate but equal activity, to one worthy of emulation and admiration by society at large.
What a screwed up society.
No, he won’t be bullied, ’cause that’s a steer.
Seems like he was being “steered” to the left.
Tragic, A Popoff in Boundary & the West Kootenays . I’m from there & now living on the coast. Worked & contributed money to Cummins since the mid 90’s. Didn’t see this coming. Popoff was getting the old Reformers, Trade Unions, independent businessmen & all the old Doukhobours. We had a chance. Brutal!
Well it’s all over..or is it…? I understand there are some apologies out there from the BC Conservatives to Mischa Popoff, and well there should be. We finally had a real Conservative running, one with business experience, one who understands the agricultural industry and the history of organics and trade. A well versed and well rounded young man with a university degree or two.
Was John Cummins afraid of the intelligence of this young man? “Lets get rid of him ASAP”
Mischa would have breathed some life and sense into a very dull Ho Hum Party, and probably would have been a treat to Cummins Leadership!
Lets not count Mischa Popoff out yet, as a matter of fact several supporters here hope he will run in the federal election in two years. This means we have to start the Wheel in Motion NOW. Lets stand up and be counted all you Conservatives out there and get behind this young man, so we will be ready.
