The time: April 29, 1992, after dark. The scene: Robert J. Avrech, his wife Karen, and their two small children, standing in the lobby of an LA movie theater, are in a “cocoon” of Hollywood liberals attending a charity benefit for inner-city youth. Suddenly, the glass doors are tested by an angry, malevolent mob, “their faces twisted into expressions of raw hatred.”
Then, the lights go off. The Rodney King rioters are out for blood.
“Is there a finer way to enter battle than with the woman I have been in love with since the fourth grade?“
Read Robert J. Avrech’s emotionally-gripping “Jew Without A Gun” here. One of the best blog posts you’ll ever read.

“Just as Obamacare has nothing to do with health, and cap and trade has nothing to do with so-called global warming, anti-gun laws have nothing to do with saving children’s lives.”
He nails it. And yet 76% of the Jews in the USSA vote for the left. Go figure. But then they always say the best conservative is a mugged leftard.
Precisely. And well written.
The US government asked to Injuns to give up their guns and how well did that work?
Since we can’t effectively fight gun control through our representatives in Washington DC, and the marxist dhimpcrapts are hell bent on taking our guns away, regardless of The Constitution, we must fight on the local and Tenth Amendment level. Since the takers and fools have re-elected this stupid, marxist president, who knows how long the SCOTUS will be able to protect us. We must gain protection through our local law enforcement, and we must be sure that our local law enforcement will provide us that protection. Many, across the US are speaking out that they will afford that protection. What are your law enforcement people doing?
The unfortunate thing is that the police that everyone thinks will protect us are all hiding when the poo hits the fan. It was several hours after the Columbine murderers killed themselves before the SWAT team finally cleared the building of wounded and hiding students. It was pure good fortune that they decided they were done because nobody was going to stop them.
Love watching the Koreans out protecting their properties with guns during the LA riots. No one else would have gotten away with it.

It’s weird that I have geographical connections with two SDA stories today, the LA Riots and the In Amenas hostage situation in Algeria.
My wife and I, very much younger then were on vacation in LA during the riots. We stayed in Beverly Hills so were only affected by the night curfew. We did however tour some of the burnt out aftermath in the daylight, it was strange to see national guard standing around on corners and 7/11 stores in full battle gear.
The rest of the city moved on during the riots like it was happening in another part of the country.
A great story.
Would carrying have changed the outcome?
Definitely, maybe it would have made it worse. They got through relatively unscathed. But,it is better to have a gun and not need it,than to need a gun and not have it.
” the Los Angeles Police Department has been “pulled back for their own safety.””
That means that you are on your own. There is no one to call. Help is not just around the corner. Maybe the ‘yutes’ are not packing, but chances are ,they will be,or if there is enough of them, they don’t have to be,you and yours are in for a world of hurt.Appealing to their decency by telling them that you always called for ‘social justice’ may buy you a few seconds, but the cops are not just around the corner, you are on your own.
This is when you wish that you were driving with Mr. Smith and his gal pal Miss Wesson. They know what to say to diffuse the situation. A little crude in their delivery, but their message is not nuanced,it is what it is,and it save lives.
An aside to the L.A. riots.
When it was going down I was employed as a bartender at an ‘entertainment venue’. In between showa ,I would put up newscasts on the big screen of the events in L.A. and had the DJ play Zappa’s “More trouble every day” (Watts 65).
The customers actually appreciated it. If you have a few minutes ,look up the song.
So the LAPD is much like the OPP, eh?
Did they have a Dudley Georgie in LA also?
The Koreans weren’t the only ones outside protecting their property during the Rodney King riots. There is a chapterhouse at USC of the fraternity I lived at at university. The house was right down the street from the riots. They made sure that at least 3 of them were visibly armed out on the front porch all night. They were not the only frathouse doing so. No groups headed their way that night, but they weren’t taking any chances.
Aye, it was almost a funny story.
Much funnier would have been if the pack of feral farm dogs had managed to break into the DGA building once the author and his family were clear of the place—-and given Hollywood’s pimps and whores the treatment they so richly deserved, one thousand times more than Reginald Denny did. Their bling would have been well earned for once.
Who knows? Maybe a few of those who lived to see the dawn would have started voting Republican.
A jew without a weapon is like a cat without claws, in a world of dogs – old saying from Europe.

” hard as it is to believe, but it looks as if the objects of our charity would like to lynch us.”
That’s easy, what’s “hard to believe”, is the level of stupid it takes to be a Liberal.
Koreans.
That is my answer to the past (and possibly inevitable) civil unrest.
It is said that if North Korea faced ajummas (Korean middle-aged women who have, since childhood, put up with so much crap), they would be beaten to a pulp.
My hats go off to the ajummas. Do your worst, “sons of Obama”. These women will wear your hides for rain slickers. That is a promise.
That being said, if the American electorate wished to abandon their sense and now their freedoms, this sort of thing is their lot. They can own it.
Osumashi Kinyobe >
heh. Cool never heard of “ajummas” before.
The South Koreans have much to be admired for; they are after all the MAAAAAASTERS of Taekwondo, my favorite martial art, and Korean BBQ.
Have only been through the Seoul airport in transit, would love to actually tour the country.
There’s a gratifying story at the link about a 15 year old buy home with his younger siblings, who is the target of a home invasion.
The kid is the son of a Deputy sheriff, and has had firearms training. He grabbed his Dad’s “assault rifle” and shot one of the home invaders several times. They ran like hell and were arrested when they showed up at a hospital.
I couldn’t help cheering when I heard the story!
There’s also the tale he tells of explaining guns to a tiny, vulnerable young woman whose psycho ex-boyfriend was stalking her.
Allah almighty, there are SO MANY vulnerable people out there who can be easily victimized!
I wonder how many deaths the anti-gun idiots are responsible for, having scared so many people away from owning guns.
I’m telling you- ajummas will lay waste to all that is before them if they are not sated. 🙂
Incheon International Airport is fantastically laid out in my opinion and the country is worth seeing (been there for four years!).
Samgyeupsal- barbecued back bacon.
Back to the point, Koreans worked hard to defend their shops, ect. To think that if any of them voted for the Liar-in-Chief, they will be back where they started.
When the shit hits the fan, what would you rather have sitting next to you,a Glock or a Liberal?
I made the mistake of saying that I support the concept
of women and concealed carry here on the “left coast”
Actually got kicked out of the bar. I hate these people
4 nights ago a fruit spilled my beer on purpose, so I “accidentally” tore a few ligaments in his hand, he cried.
dwright (no use for fruits and nuts)
“I wonder how many deaths the anti-gun idiots are responsible for, having scared so many people away from owning guns.”
Me too, dmorris. But I carry it one step further and would like to know (within 1M), how many deaths the LEFT, period, have caused. Let’s keep it easy and limit it to the last 200 years. That includes all the tyrants, dictators, despots, AND those such as Rachel Carson,Bethune, the cAGW cultists, the seemingly endless supply of useful idiots, etc.(for some reason, even that bastion of the right,Wiki, doesn’t have this number in one convient spot)
Obligatory: Adam Carolla on Koreans and the LA riots. I denounce myself.

My local “Law Enforcement”, Old Country Boy, are running guns for FedPig as part of Operation Castaway. When they are not murdering Mere Citizens like Andrew Lee Scott in his own home, of course. Which is why I say don’t just listen to what they say. Watch what they do as well. You’ll frequently find there are massive differences between the two messages. For Taqiyaa is NOT just for our raghead friends. “Law Enforcement” are prime practitioners of it as well.
And wallyj, do you REALLY believe there would be no help just around the corner and no one to call if the victim were a member of the Blue Wall, or one of their family, or one of the Masters? Did ANY of them suffer an attack and the perps not be PROMPTLY dealt with? From what I have seen, all the victims were Mere Citizens. Sucks to be them, don’t it?

Having trouble finding that one, can you or anyone else be more specific?
