It was for the kids…

TorStar: Longshaw is adamant that her little barbecue kiddie party was co-opted by interlopers unknown to her. Police sources, however, say it’s not uncommon for organizers to disguise booze-infused “blockos’’ as children’s parties to avoid police shutting them down before they get started.
Nat.Post: Before bullets tore through a community barbecue in Scarborough, leaving two dead and more than 20 injured, the event, which attracted more than 200 youth, was advertised as a Hennessy Block Party by the organizer.
Yeah…Forgive our skepticism.

  1. Advertising a block party in the GTA is about the dumbest thing anyone can do, especially if the “block” is predominantly black. And, no, that isn’t racist; it’s a fact. Even black community leaders are beginning to (finally) say so.

  2. Toronto Star (spit) reports that the hostess of this children’s party spent over $1,200 on Hennessy.
That’s a lot of booze for a gathering of toddlers.

  3. @Gaylord
How dare you suggest that all those poor toddlers be denied booze! That kind of racism is just uncalled for!
Seriously, who does she think she’s fooling? It takes a particular kind of stupid to believe that anybody would fall for that.

  4. Never drank cognac, because I can’t afford it. Will never drive a jag or hummer for the same reason.
So what am I doing wrong? Is it my jobs? My circle of friends? My community?

  5. Sorry Lance but that’s how I interpreted it.
My visual comprehension skills first thing in the morning need improvement.

  6. Jamie, you need to quit your jobs, you sucker!! Jobs are for morons! Go on welfare, and get a “community housing” apartment. Make a few babies with some single moms, but make sure that they all use their welfare money for hair extensions and false nails and make sure that they promise to take their kids to block parties. Then, you, too will be able to purchase almost $1500 worth of cognac and host lively blockos.

  7. While working in downtown Detroit a decade ago, I ventured out of the heavily patrolled “Greektown” area one evening to see the site of the (then unfinished) Comerica Stadium. As I strolled along, I noticed many discarded bottles of liquor of either 200 or 375 ml size. The vast majority were of French cognacs, often Hennessey, but also Martel, Remy Martin, and Courvoisier.
I thought “What a fine class of rubby they must have here, drinking cognac instead of malt liquor or Fleishman’s vodka”. BTW, Fleishman’s was about $7 for a US gallon, or about the same price as the 375 ml bottle of cognac. Now, that’s a discerning drunk!

  8. One lives in welfare housing and can spend a months worth of wages on booze, jesus wept how they con us taxpayers.

  9. Reports now surfacing that a person attending this “ahem kiddie party” was later gunned down this A.M.in Scarboro.

  10. Hmm…
Always seems these shooting victims are named “Cecil, Clive, Cedric,…..but these folks don’t seem to exhibit much Saxon heritage….if’n ya catch my drift…
Just a buncha Trayvon’s adjusting the local pecking order…..

  11. My buddy organized a booze-infused block party during Stampede week. Funny that no one got shot… I wonder what else could be in play?

  12. She wants her life back? Join the queue, woman—so do all decent Englishmen, Scotsmen and Irish Protestants resident in this dominion who work a living, believe in God and aren’t too proud or lazy to cook, grow their own food and clean their own toilets.
If you really want out and fear for your life from the gangs who just might have decided their harlot on Danzig St has become more trouble than she’s worth (“previous life” my grandmother!), you know what you have to do—go back to the god-forsaken island you came from, take your pups with you, and once there accept Jesus as your saviour, and stop playing the parasite and harlot—and see that you stay gone. You need to go do it and stop begging decent people for sympathy.
Clearly the police didn’t buy it. Your miserable breed have been murdering and raping and eating Canadians out of house and home for a generation, and Toronto’s finest have spent their careers cleaning up your mess. You can’t fool them any more.

  13. Their aspirations of “bein gangsta” have been fully realized/renewed. They will always have that going for them.

  14. Dick Slater, you are wasting your time Deeshawne, Duwayne and Shenel are asleep this time of day getting ready for the next midnight chilrens partay.
Our, welfare system is obviously not working, paying anybody to sit around all day is not beneficial for society or the dependants.
It is about time welfare was contingent on work, and since that is in short supply in Canada we need to be creative. There are great needs that exist in the world, we should be sending our welfare recipients to places like Haiti as part of our humanitarian aid, there they can experience the island lifestyle they so wish to emulate while at the same time assisting the truly poor. They should be provided with unlimited quantities of concrete blocks and corrugated steel panels so they could build rudimentary shelter for the inhabitants and themselves, as well as elementary farm implements to grow crops. They could build their own shanties that they reminisce about and cultivate as much weed as they deem beneficial. They would be required to stay a minimum of two years, though why would they possibly want to return, it would after all be the paradise they dream of.
Before somebody calls me a racist, this offer would be open to all welfare rastafarians, skateboarder dudes, drop-outs, whitewogs or any other self-described groups who love rap, ska and carribean music.

  15. Ont liquor laws have been liberalized a bit since my youth, still I’m pretty sure it is not legal to spend thousands on booze and hand it out free in a public place. I would suspect Ms Daniels, Longshaw or someone is in violation of one or more LCBO regulations. Most middle class citizens realize their responsibility when holding such parties and the potential for liability, mostly in drunk driving situations.
Just wondering if these party organizers face any pending charges? I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting.

  16. Police report a shocking mass shooting in Toronto.
“How awful! Where was it? Not the Eaton Centre again?”
The incident took place in Scarborough
“Wait, Scarborough?? Not quite so shocking… Tell me more.”
at a neighbourhood block party for children.
    “Well, that IS pretty shocking…”
The shooting happened minutes after the party began around 10:30 PM Monday night
“Uh. Tell me more about this party for children that started after 10 PM on a weeknight.”
People had come from as far away as London, Ontario, lured by promises of free liquor
“Umm…okay. Any particular ethnicity involved here?”
    and Caribbean music.
“Am I still supposed to be all shocked & surprised? Just wondering…”
