  1. Funny I thought this post was about the election polls not about walking safe in the park.
Up here in redmonton there is much confusion as to which socialist party to vote for. pc, lib or ndp. In chaose there is oppertunity.
If the left gets cute and votes for the pc to get the Wildrose – man I like that name – they may just sink the ndp and the libs in the process.
The problem they have is they will have success doing this in redmonton but to win in Alberta you need the rual and one city and the libs and dippers are not that strong in the rual or cowtown.
It is great watching the Progessives stager around like they woke up one morning in a strang land with new rules and they do not know how to play the game.
I do not feel the Rat Queen will fare to well in the debate.

  2. “I can’t get over the fact that there is 11.3% NDP votes in Alberta!”
I’m not so sure this is an immigrant voting block. There are a lot of unionized workers in Edmonton. Plenty of municipal politicians swing well left of their provincial counterparts. I have it on good authority that the Chinese community is now solidly Conservative, at the federal level, because of their respect for Harper. Not sure which way they’ll swing provincially.
I think it’s time for a change, and the Wildrose is in the right place, at the right time. Their candidate in my riding is a douche, but I guess we have to take the bad with the good sometimes.

  3. Conservatives need to beware of the ultra-stridents found on sites like this.
They are right-wing equivalents of socialists. Utopia if only…..
Wildrose is a great, mainstream choice for normal right-of-centre people.
    Vote April 23rd.

  4. “Sites like this” – jeff
Keep selling your case, your winning more comrades every day.

  5. Jeff >
    “Utopia if only…..”
Conservatism = conserve………..no hopey, and no changey required.
The problem with the PC = too much Hope and “Change”.
You want change, you live in third world country, change every day.

  6. This should be a warning to the “conservative” feds that they cannot take their right support for granted.

  7. Don’t think Paul was defending himself. More like putting someone in their place. heh

Heh, was just watching Sun TV last night about the rats leaving the PCs trough and wanting to be nice to the Wildrose.

  9. I have been supporting WRP for 5 years thru a WRP friendly think tank. Direct political contributions to AB politicans not allowed.
As an original Reformer an attempt was made to promote individual responsibility and fiscal reponsibility by government. Provincial rights within a Canadian confederacy that to this day is still skewed towards eastern Canada.
Preston Manning eventually pushed the party into eastern Canada and in my opinion the impetus of the movement was to a large extent lost. Many of us had wanted Reform to move into provincial politics. If that had taken place the abomination of what exists in AB and BC would not have happened.
BC’s history from that fatefull decision to move Reform east is even worse than AB. The leftards simply took over that much faster. Our idiot ex-premier VanderZalm told me he supported Meech Lake because he owed Canada for taking his family after WWII. He had no response to my concern about what the citizens of BC felt about that. Campbell did do some good work with AB for a few years standardizing regulations and by increasing the flow of labour between provinces.
What is required in BC is a continued ebb of MLAs to the conservative banner which hopefully results in a caucus coup. All of this means nothing if more effort is not undeertaken to engage citizens. Currently in BC it is all top down expediency.

This is the deal Jeff. Normal people know there will NEVER be a Utopia. The best human beings can do is make it possible for any individual through hard work, or education to make something of themselves. With help from other people not institutions. Governments are hindrances to social advancement because they are inherently classiest statist monopolies. The most we can do is promote the ease of egalitarianism for social mobility. The Dignity of the individual over the group. In the end it should be the individuals life, not the States. The poor we will always have with us.
There can be no paradise because men are not saints. Humans are social predators like wolves. Socialism just promotes the worst tenancies of human nature. The beast in men, the udge to dominate by groups while oppressing the individual for utter control.

  11. I must say that I frequent many of the areas Mr. Knight is unhappy with and I don’t experience hostility or rudeness. Of course, I’m usually roaring drunk and carrying a broken bottle so perhaps I discourage it…
