  1. SC…..if you use Firefox there is an add-on called “AnonymoX”. Very usuful in situations like this.

  2. I think this says it all:
Want a tax receipt? You can support our charitable work by donating to the Open Media Education Fund of Tides Canada Foundation by clicking here.

  3. Sent a note to the Ombud and contacted Sun News as well.
At least now I know what my ISP is.

  4. Writing to CBC is as effective as shouting up the arsehole of a dead horse. Complaining here is preaching to the choir.
If you want action write to the Minister
    “james.moore”
with your complaints and suggestions. Also CC the PM and the Conservative party and indicate you won’t be making any further contributions to the Conservative party until your concerns are addressed.

  5. Kate at 12:46 PM: “Complain to the ombudsman that your comments are being censored.

Trouble is, this is not a CBC website. It’s no doubt set up by the small nucleus of what’s left of their audience. Once again, someone needs to alert Harper, Moore and Co.

  6. Okay, how many people have voted for eliminating public funding. That got my vote (five stars or whatever it is), but my vote appears to be the only one, unless, as some have said, they are deleting whatever votes are not welcome.

  7. Censoring comments over at CBC should keep the trolls busy and out of the SDA sandbox for a bit.
I reimagine the CBC as a test pattern from the 1960’s.

  8. North of 60:
Here’s my note to James Moore. Anyone is welcome to copy and send to James Moore, any part or all of it.
    Pat
    Howdy James,
Just a short note to let you know of my dissatisfaction with CBC TV and to a much lesser degree, CBC Radio. It does not represent Canada, it represents an urban progressive metro-sexual viewership that I and many, many people do not fit into. It seems that as time goes by it gets worse and worse. If there is an opportunity to bash the government, they don’t miss it. If they can promote negativity about Canadian Society, they do it. Leftist/Anarchist causes are broadcast regularly and in fact encouraged. Positive, community oriented activism, that is not leftist is NEVER showcased. In a word it’s BIASED!!! to the max.
CBC TV is a mess and one that should not continue to receive the massive funding that they currently receive so that they can continue to produce garbage that enjoys a smaller and smaller viewership and at the same time violates Free Trade by subsidizing TV programming, in direct competition with other privately funded enterprises. The News, if you can call it that, is so selective as to be totally useless in 2012.
I could go on but I think you get my drift.
    Pat

  9. If you are going to write or email James Moore, be sure to CC to the PM and your local MP, whatever his/her political stripe. Moore seems to think CBC is just fine.

  10. It’s an armslength thing:
    Dear Pat Patrick:
Reimaginecbc.ca is not connected with the CBC. The following information is in the About Us section:
    >
    Sincerely,
    Laura Marshall
    Assistant to Kirk LaPointe,
    CBC Ombudsman

  11. Robert W. (Vancouver) at 1:33 PM:”Trust me, if CBC News would effect something close to what I’ve suggested above, 90% of the criticism of the entire organization would evaporate.”
    ====================
Not me. I oppose the very idea of a publicly funded radio/TV organ. Smacks of dictatorship. It doesn’t matter what party is in power. The government should not be using tax dollars to fund a media organ especially while there are several competitors that don’t get tax payer subsidies and especially when those tax payers occupy all available spots on the political spectrum. Only a leftard would think taking money from someone they disagree with and using it to promote their own ideas is a good idea.

  12. Surrogate site.
But I did reply to the Ombudsman’s office that I trust they’ll make note of the site’s dishonest practices and direct CBC managers to disregard their information accordingly.

  13. “A show about the Anishinaabe language, similar to the CBC show C’est La Vie, which is about the French language. Anishinaabe Say will provide a place for people to hear the Ojibway language in a country dominated by two “official” National Languages, which ignores the Indigenous languages that have been spoken here for thousands of years.”
I voted this one “awesome”. We simply can’t do enough for the Indians, and even though there is APTN,the CBC should spend more of our money on THIS brilliant idea.
    I may become an anarchist.

  14. This the equivalent of throwing life jackets at the Titanic.
CBC is doomed. It has whored the truth to many times, lied, proclaimed iniquity to the point it now believes its own deceptions.
If not under Gods judgment they sure are under Canadians who even have a whisper of truth in them.

  15. Oooh. “Fire them all and sell” is just now rated a perfect 5.0 with 6 votes.
Hit it before it gets censored.

  16. dmorris @6:48..that’s AWESOME! I missed that one, will be sure to give it 5 stars! cough…cough

  17. You have got to see Evan tonite, confronting Min.Flaherty on OMG..using the ‘Israeli model’ for growth! Also,Byline with Lilley tonite has another expose on our beloved cbc.

  18. dmorris >
Great point, If you can’t have a voice push them onto their own absurd sword.

  19. I read quite a few of the “ideas” before I was overcome with nausea.
Most of these so-called “ideas” had to have been written by CBC staffers. Average Canadians aren’t that stupid. Are they?

  20. Ha ha – my posted suggestion lasted less than 2 minutes.
Let’s save money by dedicating Al Jazeera to the time space and bandwidth instead of the existing CBC.
Everyone is happy because the progressive left will continue be able to indoctrinate people of lower intelligence into their ideological beliefs, and Conservatives can continue to not watch while saving a little money. Win – Win.
If you don’t agree you’re a racist. Only a racist would not want to replace the CBC with Al Jazeera.

  21. I would like more documentaries about Cuba, there just aren’t enough at present. Also I would like a few more excellent shows like Little Flask in my Pocket, the Dead Green Show, and Steve of Clean Stables. Could we have a lot more of Rex Murphy?
Also I am very concerned about the slow pace of global warming and would hope that Doctor David SUV-uki might be on more often to speak about ways of warming the earth.
Finally, instead of This Hour has 22 Minutes, I would propose a satirical review of current events, possibly to be titled, “This Show Hired Two Actual Comedians.”

  22. Oh Oh
My “Human Rights Abuses” post stuck…but,
Recieved good 5 star ratings with the first few votes, but it’s starting to drop now. Help!

  23. Too bad warrenZ just got censored.
Need to get more creative and have them think your on thier side.
    Quote Mao or something first.

  24. I think the CBC should represent the ratio of diversity amongst its employees as is found in the general population of Canada … hehe

  25. No worries. CBC is aware that this site is not CBC and that “Reimagine CBC is a project of OpenMedia.ca and Leadnow with support from a growing community of people and organizations..”
    I too mentioned that:
“I also read that it is not associated with the CBC. I just wanted to point out that it is biased and is censoring any comment that does not
follow a narrow agenda, therefore it should be ignored or distanced from CBC and employees told to disregard such trash, a conclusion I’m
    sure you’ve reached.
    Crickets
    Thank you,

  26. Of•fi•cal•ly: in a formal and public way

“This site is not officially affiliated with the CBC…”

Why didn’t they simply say “This site is not affiliated with the CBC”?
The answer to that one is officially obvious.

  27. Told them I’d consider watching them when they produce a program called “Little Synagogue on the Desert”.
    Oh well…..

  28. Imagine if the CBC went on strike and no-one noticed … oh, wait that happened a few years ago didn’t it? I’d say that they are in a pretty weak position, additional to hiding what they do with all the money and their enmity to the legitimate government of Canada.

  29. I suggest the government sell the CBC to Friends Of The CBC for the sum of One Dollar. Then, they can do what they like with it, but will receive no more taxpayer money.

  30. Could we just sell the damn thing off and use the billion bucks a year saved to (help) pay down our debt? I’ve got grand kids who are going to be paying for this crap.

  31. No Revnant Dream, this is the equivalent to telling the owners of the Titanic “I told you so”

  32. Knight 99 – That’s twice for me today. Why are you still there?
I know, maybe you on that site is like the CBC’s equivalent to Rex Murphy or Don Cherry ;o)

  33. Hey, now I get a “This website declines to let you view this site” or some such message. I cannot even view the web site.
I’ll go to another computer …. What folly of these idiots to request input from the public then reject that input. Hang ’em high with their own words.

  34. WarrenZ
    “Why are you still there?”
Heh heh, you got to play on their attention spans, which are as long as the headline.
Confuse them a little with lefty buzzwords and they salivate like begg’n puppies at a BBQ.

  35. I hope this guy is just a very subtle troll. Not that it would shock me if he truly meant every word.
    “Make words not war
    submitted by willyj
Cbc must be re-made to better reflect our population.
More soccer, less hockey,no need for Don Cherry. Rex Murphy will always be Rex Murphy with his archaic (dinosaur) values. He can easily be replaced with Michael Ignatieff,a true Canadian with the smarts and savvy of a dozen Murphys, and Mike has the common touch.
Our foreign news department needs an overhaul. Get rid of the stale wood that parrots the American viewpoint. Omar Khadr will be available in a few years,he would be great. He knows Islam and its nuances, and he won’t be an American cheerleader.
The domestic political coverage is OK,but we could use a bit more coverage of the Liberal and NDP side. They received 60+% of the vote, don’t forget that. Also,Brigitte DePape (stop Harper page) would be an excellent asset and a youthful voice.
Those are just a few ideas,I’ve got more. Oh yeah, more social media like Kady, she’s the best. And less comments allowed from the far right-wing unCanadian side.”

  36. V10 >
Naw he’s just pull’n their pissers like everyone else obviously. It’s the only way to get posted, and shows their ridiculous bias in the most comical of ways as they lap it up and accept it over some of the “right wing” criticisms.

  37. Is willyj not wallyj?
His suggestions are hilarious and so subtle his post escaped being caught. So far anyway.

  38. DanBC >
    No kidding! Good find.
I wouldn’t have had the guts to push the Donate button for fear of being turned gay or Islamic or something.
