The only tactic islamofascists are familiar with is multiplying their numbers by keeping their women covered up and pregnant. I have very mixed feelings about providing appropriate medical care to the pregnant Saudi’s that I see, 20 years old and pregnant with their third child, and agonize whether I should just leave things be or recommend vitamin D supplementation. The whole rationale behind keeping women in burka’s might be to render them vitamin D deficient and hence incapable of standing up to their men. I’ve seen Saudi medical reports that give “normal” vitamin D levels for women which are a tiny fraction of what is now considered appropriate.

Regarding some of the pessimism expressed in the comments above (a pessimism I share at times, depending on what day it is) Phillips said something that, based on my conversations with some British expats, and on reading the comments under online British newspaper articles and at websites, I believe to be true, and may be reason for hope.

In a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Assad said: “If a crazy measure is taken against Damascus, I will need not more than six hours to transfer hundreds of rockets and missiles to the Golan Heights to fire them at Tel Aviv.”
Davutoglu reportedly conveyed a message of warning from the US to Assad. The Iranian report has not been verified by other sources.
According to the Fars news agency, the Syrian president stressed that Damascus will also call on Hezbollah in Lebanon to launch a fierce rocket and missile attack on Israel, one that Israeli intelligence could never imagine.
“All these events will happen in three hours, but in the second three hours, Iran will attack US warships in the Persian Gulf as American and European interests will be targeted simultaneously,” Assad reportedly said.
