I was only 12 in the summer of ’69, but I have the recollection of events of that time, as per family tradition growing up, our family always read the local paper together and watched news programs, and engaged in dialogue and discussion of the events of the day.
A practice that has been worthwhile to follow to this day and it sustains my nose for news.

I flew for Okanagan Helicopters offshore from Burma on two tours in late 1975 and early 1976. A Japanese company, Arakan Oil, had contracted Okanagan to fly the shift changes back and forth from rigs a short distance offshore.. Our base was at Kyaupyu (pronounced Chowpoo). On the video it is named as the start point for the gas pipeline. Burma was ruled even then by a brutal socialist junta. Dealing with such regimes does not seem to faze the Demarais family or pose any ethical problems for them or their Liberal Party sycophants.
