Hail, bounteous May, that doth inspire mirth

Elizabeth May on the hidden talents of Stephen Mesmer-Harper:

Murray Dobbin: “Do you think Harper has deliberately set out to discourage people from voting?”

Elizabeth May: “Absolutely. People thought that Harper had become more popular between the 2006 and 2008 elections but not so: 170,000 fewer people voted for a Conservative candidate in 2008 than in 2006. His larger seat count is a tribute to his ability to discourage people from voting.”

Apparently his special powers work best against potential Green Party voters.

  1. You will not be surprised to learn then that Murray is an “advisor” to none other than (drumroll please): the Rideau Institute.

  2. What a pair of dullards. Oh great, what can us morons do to stand in the way of progress, us greenies must make sure Harper can’t get a majority. May and Dobbin are stupid and detestable as is the rest of the lieberal ndpee green agenda. Canada has the potential to be the last bastion of an intelligent fiscalally responsible government, a rarity on this planet, if Harper could get a majority. Idiots like the msm and donkeys like May hate progress, here is the proof. Go to Hell Lizzy and your ilk!

  3. First, I think it is rude and beneath most people to mock someone because of their physical apperance; their dress, grooming and and deportment is OK to mock as they are within the full control of anybody. Height, weight, scars, deformities et al is just plain bad manners and ought to be discouraged all around else we end up with Belinda Stronachs.
The sure sign of a loser is when an unsuccessful politician(ie cannot get elected) blame our first past the post electoral system for their failures. They demand prop rep, transferable votes ad nauseum to convince even an ever small fraction of voters to vote for them. Think about it: with four parties in the race, a 26% share can win the election. Five candiates and 21% does the trick. Instead of whining on about losing why not work to get that 21%?
Sorry, I forgot. If they wanted to work they wouldn’t be in politics

  4. You have to be amazed by Lizzy May’s stupidity. She used the number “170,000” yet, given a choice on the ballot, millions more Canadians voted for the CPC than the Greens. I know, to her, they don’t matter. Same with the NDP: a party that slams Harper, saying he doesn’t speak for Canadians, but the NDP, a party that will never form gov’t and a party perpetually mired at 15-20% in the polls, a party that knows that 80-85% Canadians, with a choice on their ballot, choose NOT to vote NDP. But they speak for the people.
BTW, dos anyone know what the format of the next election will be? She didn’t win a seat and no Greens were elected in 2008. Can the consortium in charge of the debate justify her inclusion this time around?

  5. Liz should be allowed in all and any debates about anything.
She sped read the CRU e-mails, all of them within hours of their release and deemed the science settled.
That alone qualifies Liz as THE voice of the left I want to hear more from.
It’ll be fun to see who goes along.
    Syncro

  6. Elizabeth May should be on a hunger strike for the Polar bears a fallin with tigers a drownin.
It would leave more food for them while she could do with less of a carbon footprint.

  7. I don’t know why the interviewer asked Lizzie what she thinks; everyone knows that Lizzie ‘feels’ about any given topic.

  8. Y’know, Lizzie makes some good points. I might even consider..
ahhhhhhh.. tin foil hat slipping…. ahhhhhh.. Tory mind control rays… ahhhhhhhhhh….
Must. Vote. Harper. All. Friends. Must. Vote. Harper. Nothing. To. See. Here. Everything. Is. Norble.

  9. Haven’t looked at a moonbat site for a while and I’d forgotten that there is no lower limit on human stupidity. Some of the comments were hilarious like the guy who went on about the environmental consequences of forced consumption and if the government paid everyone a minimum guaraneed income, then no-one would be forced to consume or work. There’s some serious psychopathology reflected here and these people are allowed to vote!?
I guess the one good thing about watermelons of the moonbat variety is that they don’t grow in the BC interior. Here where people are actually in touch with the land they know that if you don’t work you don’t eat. They also know about sustainable agriculture, forestry and ranching and have been doing it for generations. If people were really pissed off at PMSH and didn’t like the alternatives, they’d go to the polling place and spoil their ballot or write in the name of the candidate who they thought should be elected. I did it in every election until the Reform Party came out and there was actually a party that I could vote for. There doesn’t seem to be any huge spike in spoiled ballots in the last few federal elections.

  10. What I find heartening is that sister lizzie will be out there spouting off reminding voters about a possible coalition next election.
That puts Iggy in the position of having to attack lizzie’s cred or have the meme stick.
I trust lizzie will be keeping the libs off message for the length of the campaign.
Nothing better than watching the libs try to claim moral high ground on the environment and then attack the high priestess of Gaia.
    BTW
You know sister lizzie has hit bottom when the only folks that give you the time of day is “that” site.

  11. Let’s not be too hard on the crazy biatch. Remember that in any constituency that runs a Green candidate – any vote they get comes from the Dippers or the Lieberals. That’s nothing but good news for the Conservative candidate.
    Go Lizzy Go!

  12. IMO it is very fair to criticize a public figures appearance. Being a fat-a$$ is evidence of an unbalanced life and an aspect of a persons being. If you can’t take care of yourself physically it demonstrates a lack of discipline, knowledge, dedication and many other personality traits.
I’m not saying this should define a person; but, it should be a consideration. Obesity is a bad choice like many others.

  13. Remember that in any constituency that runs a Green candidate – any vote they get comes from the Dippers or the Lieberals. That’s nothing but good news for the Conservative candidate.
You are right, I’ll revise my previous comments about her: she’s not fat and repulsive looking, shes “cuddly” and as far as being insane and a loudmouth I’ll say she has “strong green/left opinions.

  14. What is truly amazing (and frustrating) is the fact that May is still asked by the media for her opinion and will, in all likelihood, be allowed to participate in the next leaders’ debate.
Putting aside May’s repulsiveness and unbelievable stupidity, she is nothing. A nobody. Simply another Canadian. Her party does not hold one single seat in the House and never will.
When will she receive the treatment that she deserves and simply be ignored and dismissed as the village idiot, pushing a shopping cart full of cans and yelling at no one in particular?
As my father used to say: “just ignore them and they’ll go away.”
