Best John Deere Commercial Ever

(I actually saw this ad some years ago on tv. I don’t know why the word “layout” is superimposed on this, it’s the only English language version I could find.)

  1. By the way, John Deere paid dividends during the 1930s and even had a stock split or two.

  2. Delightful!
Last summer at my boyfriend’s farm we decided to transplant a day lilly bed. It was a large bunch and I had the wheel barrow out and was walking across the lawn with a shovel. He told me to hold on a minute because he had something that would work better than the shovel I had.
A few minutes later he drove up with a backhoe!!
The pictures I have are priceless.

  3. Phantom: very cool there is a five head version of the toro too. I have always had great luck with TORO stuff (including irrigation equipment) and some ransomes as well. Toro’s commercial self-propelled walk behind mower is the best there is… 1600 new I got a very lightly used one for 140.

  4. @ Kate, “LAYOUT” is there because this is the basic advertisement produced by the company. It will be modified for other areas by changing the storefront at the end from German to English or vica versa. At least that’s what what they called it in my father’s publishing business, those years ago….

  5. I did over 10 hours on an 8440 and 4240 JD Dad’s old AR lasted 35 years Best in the west.

  6. Ya know what they say about a bad tractor…that it is just like a bad woman…ya gotta get it out of the area to get rid of it.

  7. What about the comment that you can get a push mower for under $2000. Wow what a deal for green paint. A good Craftsman will run you $750. Had one for 10 years, never a problem.
