  1. Sorry for the OT.
Since Reader Tips seems to be disabled tonight, can someone explain the ongoing TV ad war between cable companies and private TV stations in Canada?
Is it a fight as to who gets to get tax dollars? I’d like to get some insight as to why this is happening. Both groups seem to be spending a lot of money promoting their side.

  2. What I want to know: is the “Death Panel” part of Canada’s Health Act? I sure seems possible as I seem to hear a lot of anecdotal stories that add up to the same thing (and one experience with a relative).

  3. I put my TV in storage a year ago, so I am blissfully unaware of what’s going on. By the time I take it out again, it will be such an antique I could probably donate it to some museum.

  4. Louise, I’ve been able to get FoxNews for the past few months, so I’m all riled-up now.
I still want to see a website that looks at this fight between cable and local TV stations.

  5. There are NO decent leaders in the U.S. – the republicans were double dealing with the Saudis and the fact is the new guy is NO better. Sad days for the western nations and if our good P.M. Harper loses office to the Liberals – then – we’re doomed too. Cheney is a demon as is his partner in slime Bush…sorry to say it…but the war on terror has been a farce because of them…

  6. Heh….Fox would take the commie pseudo-pres and make him look like mincemeat, and his wife like dessert.Oh wait…they did. And meanwhile CNN and the biggest loser on Jeporady since who knows when is highlighting two-axe handles wide Michelle’s hula-hooping.
Hey Big Zero…don’t f**k with the American public. This ain’t Daley’s Chicago!!!!

  7. don:
Were you aware Obama was fully briefed on the situation in Afghanistan last November by the outgoing administration, including the deal it made with Pakistan?
Why is it that Obama is unable to make a decision when he knew all the facts?
Why did Obama say Iraq was a war of choice and Afghanistan is a war of necessity, then when he was briefed on it nearly a freakin’ year ago, does not act on his own self-defined necessity?
That’s why he’s being called a ditherer … because this sock puppet of Maoists and Marxists (“judge me by the people around me”) not only cannot be taken at his word, but disparages those who gave him the advice.
Does the teleprompter have an opinion on this?

  8. I vote that they leave the “assisted suicide” clause in for the lefty’s only. After all they are the ones begging for it. Why hold them back?

  9. Since toes & gibsy insist there was no Afghanistan policy de-briefing, then Cheney should insist the document used last Fall, the one Obama saw, be released

  10. I’d guess that everybody here has at least one relative or acquaintance who absolutely MUST be right at all times about everything. I have a brother like that and also a client like that. The current administration is reminding me a whole lot of those folks.

  11. The White House has apparently lost its attempt to isolate FOX News, from an interview with one of its Multiple Czars. The other media told the WH, that it’s ‘all of us or none of us’. Shades of the Musketeers. ..and an acknowledgement that the WH was violating the Constitution’s First Amendment.
This tactic of negating the existence (a nice way to say ‘kill off’) of any and all who dissent is basic to socialism, as we know from all the socialist governments that have ever existed, from the Inca, Mayan, ancient Egyptian to Mao’s China and the USSR.
But it’s also a characteristic of Obama’s narcissism. Quite literally, in Obama’s pathology, if you are not controllable by him, which means, if he can’t rely on your adulation, then you literally don’t exist. You could be run over by that bus and he wouldn’t blink. And he’ll manouevre the situation to ensure both the bus and the trajectory.
By the way, speaking of imperialist preening, are we are that Michelle Obama’s personal staff in the WH is the largest ever? Canada Free Press, not the US MSM, covered this, with their outline of her 26 taxpayer funded staff, versus Laura Bush’s 15, and previous First Lady’s staff of one or two. Check it out on ‘First Lady now requires 26 servants’ August 17, 2009.

  12. The White House Pool, is a group of 5 networks,CBS,ABC,NBC, CNN,& Fox, agreed to since ’97. When the pay Czar was scheduled to intro his pay scales for banks/business,execs. which owed Tarp money to U.S. They attempted to have Fox rep. excluded (Major Derrick). The other four members of the pool turned down invite unless Fox included. Regrettably the Pres. is still rejecting talking to Fox Cable News.

  13. Cheney is right: make a decision NOW.
Why would anyone laud someone who loafs like this? Obama has been briefed. He can’t ride out his one term not making any solid decisions.

  14. Politco has released a memo that MediaMatters is sending to Left-friendly organizations to encourage them to boycott FOX — not to give interviews or information to Fox News.
This could mean that the White House thinks that the anti-Fox movement has enough momentum on its own to keep going without direct WH involvement — now they can move on to the next person for their “two minute hate”.
Or it could mean that with the pushback – press-pool solidarity, release of secret anti-fox memos from WH “hench-organizations” – the WH understands that the curtain is drawn back and the mechanization of the “controversy” is now more of a spectacle than the controversy itself.
Alternatively, it could be that they just reflexively attack the messenger when they don’t like the news, and that there is no strategy behind it at all.

  15. OwebamaRahm can not make a decision on Afigan , as he is too busy doing talk shows in hollyweird and doing the olympic dance
