Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

“McCain was weak, Palin was frightening”.
Really????
The hysterical response to her nomination is vindication………to objective observation.
You have drank the lefty koolaid….I wager you think Global Warming exists while you shovel your drive-way…..
You were programmed (brain-washed) Obama=cool….Palin frightening…….
My position is that Palin is genuinely frightening to the lefties….why else would they commit so many resources to discredit her?????
Well at least our enemies had some respect for McCain. The economy is one thing, but protecting the free world is another.
Watched the movie Flash of Genius last night. An inventor/entrepreneur who stakes all to be recognized as the true inventor of intermittent car wipers. I know, it sounds as boring as watching paint dry, but it was great!
me no dhimmi – I wouldn’t call Obama a Marxist. The reason for this is because in order to be such, you have to believe in a certain set of ideas, a certain idea of ‘the best society’ and so on.
I don’t think Obama intellectually knows much about or follows any theory of societal structure for itself. I think his ‘causal force’ is his psychological nature. The first force is his narcissism, caused by whatever.. and I’m not interested in these causes for it can’t be undone.
But the result is a psychological nature focused around himself as empowered, unique, grandiose. impervious to failure, to reality.
This is coupled with a requirement to maintain this elevated status. He does this by moving into roles where he is peripheral as a key cause; community planner, his non-active role in the Senate. And finally, as President, where others are in the role of maintaining his elevation, for they are actually doing the work: his cabinet, the Senate, the House.
Then, add to this, a strategy of controlling how people act and react to him. That’s the triad of: Misinformation, Manipulation via emotions of Fear and Hope, and Accusations of Bias if you criticize him. This is his campaign mode and he will campaign for the policies of his cabinet, Senate, House. He’ll make people vote for those policies using that triadic strategy.
If anything goes wrong – he’ll blame others, which he already does (the past 10 years); and I’m sure Pelosi and Reid know that he’ll blame them…and others.
Then, this extreme narcissim, when moved into such a position of power – and potential disaster – sets up a further psychological requirement. The requirement to control how others act and think and speak about him. This means that he’s got to attack the First Amendment, the Freedom of Speech. Watch how he’ll do it; he’ll probably use the ‘race’ card.
And, as part of his control, he supports the Democratic socialism. I’m saying that he’s a socialist not because he believes it’s a constructive way for a population to live – and I’m sure many socialists genuinely feel this way. But because it is, as authoritarian, as elitist, as two-class, as without a middle class – a repressive system. It enables him to CONTROL people, to reduce their individualism, to decimate the middle class.
So, in my view, Obama is not following any political ideology for itself. He’s not a political thinker or analyst (as is Harper or Jindal or Stanford..). He’s a narcissist and socialism enables him to control people. That’s all.
Is it just me, or has this fellow’s post just gone down the memory hole?
Alan
Alan…it is coming up blank for me also…but I found it in his archives: ‘The B-S Express.’
No, the untrue crap the media and bloggers spewed about Palin was frightening. As for Ron Paul, the nicest thing that can be said of him is that he’s an anti-Semitic, blame-America-first POS.
I wouldn’t vote for that waste of carbon for dog catcher.
There is a problem with the link or something.
It takes me to ashesizasesiz.blogspot.com but the page is blank…
What was I supposed to find there ?

You may giving AObama more credit than he is due ET
True Obie is narcissistic, but he is not all that intelligent as his people would have us believe.
As someone previously mentioned, he is in fact a grand performer…able to recite but incapable of any serious insight into the mechanations of good governance and hence a solution to the present ails.
Americans specifically, are scared of their future but not really willing to take personal responsibility for their present situation to implement change/solution,so are quite willing to drop the whole schnitzel in the lap of the first street dog who comes along and promises to take it off their hands.
Unfortunately this leaves them wide open in their blind trust to… well trust anyone with theis national wellbeing.
This is unprecidented in that their American colonial fathers would have probably looked upon them with such derision as to have enslaved them for stupidity and set their other slaves free.
On a more serious note though, people generally get what they don’t bother avoiding and there is always someone/group out there more than willing to help relieve them of their treasure.
Here’s what Victor Davis Hanson says about Obama and his rejection of debate. This is from Hanson’s ‘The audacity of Irony’.
“There were many legitimate critiques of the Iraq war. But insisting, as Barack Obama did, that we invaded recklessly and in haste was not one of them. From the fall of the Taliban in December 2001 to the invasion of Iraq in March 2003, the Bush administration deliberately and in public fashion sought debate in the Congress for over a year, received bipartisan authorization, and tried for months to win sanction from the United Nations.
In contrast, Barack Obama immediately upon entering office demanded the largest government expansion in the history of the nation. The staggering debt program will require nearly a trillion dollars in borrowing to fund all sorts of entitlements and redistributive efforts, and in revolutionary fashion redefine the role of government itself. Obama pronounced the current economic crisis the moral equivalent of war, and he wanted a national mobilization to meet it — pronto.
But unlike the Bush administration, which took 15 months to prepare the country for a real war in Iraq, the Obama administration gave the public only a few hours to read the final draft of the legislation before it was made into law. Where the polarizing partisan George Bush managed to obtain the vote of majorities in both parties to remove Saddam Hussein, the healing bipartisan Barack Obama lacked the support of even a single Republican in the House and won over a mere three Republicans in the Senate.”
Alan, when you get to his site, click on Ashes Ashes All Fall Down at the top. That’ll bring up his posts.
Lori: “… what demoralizes me more than the trillion dollar deficits is the lack of leadership at a critical point in history.”
Me too. And I’m clear that we lack leadership because we’ve been living off the moral, ethical, and financial capital of our democracies which were founded by individuals of genuine faith who understood hard work, sacrifice, deferring gratification for the good of the community, etc. As the Good Book says, “Without a vision, the people perish.” Our governments and politicians have, for years, lacked the kind of vision it takes to sustain government for the people and by the people, where politicians are servants not masters.
Secular humanism/socialism capitalizes on the master/servant relationship, with those in power always playing the part of Master while the rest of us become their slaves. Knowing nothing different — and that’s why socialists hate Christianity so much because its values are the exact antithesis of theirs and believing Christians tend to point out that the Emperor has no clothes and is trying to steal ours — we have been lulled into a deadly complacency and apathy.
You can’t build any edifice on sand and expect it to stand; it has to be built on solid rock or great will be the fall. And that’s what we’re experiencing now. Democracies once built on solid, for-the-good-of-the-whole, principles now based on gross self-interest and personal greed on an unprecedented scale.
A forty-day Lenten observance may be less arcane than many think.

What I don’t understand is if what you say is true, how can he be comfortable being a front man for others? Are you suggesting that he is so naive that he actually thinks he is in the driver’s seat? The way I see it, if he is a narcissist, he wouldn’t be able to defer control to others and simply play his role as “salesman”; unless, he doesn’t know he’s the “salesman”. I’m not saying I disagree, I’m just not sure if it all adds up.
I think BO simply hates the west/America/white people ect. It’s quite possible that he doesn’t even know this, his indoctrination has been under the guise of “black nationalism”. You just have to immerse yourself in black culture for a short while to realize the animosity blacks have towards America and whites. In American Black culture blacks carry NO RESPONSIBILITY for the plight of their people in America today. It’s all Whitey’s fault. These are BO’s core beliefs, and that is why he is so useful.
BO is just another useful idiot, being controlled with accolades. Accolades are this fat boy’s Twinkies.
That being said, being POTUS seems to come with a dose of reality. Hopefully reality will help BO see the error of his beliefs. I don’t think BO is a bad person, I think he is mislead and perhaps (likely) way out of his intellectual league. Hopefully I’m correct about the first bit and wrong about the second and a dose of reality will help BO make the right decisions down the road.
“Americans specifically, are scared of their future but not really willing to take personal responsibility for their present situation to implement change/solution,so are quite willing to drop the whole schnitzel in the lap of the first street dog who comes along and promises to take it off their hands.”
Simon, you’ve just said in a few lines what I’ve been trying to articulate for months.
batb – I’m secular and I don’t agree with the Hegelian two-class Master-Slave relationship. So, I think that to suggest that ‘being secular’ also means ‘being socialist’ isn’t exactly correct.
Indiana Homez – you raise some good points. My own view is that Obama himself doesn’t care about theory, i.e., political theory. However, don’t ignore that he does align himself with a particular political theory. Socialism.
He is socialist because socialism sets up a population into two classes – as batb outlined so well, the Master-Slave framework. Obama puts himself into the Master Set of Guardians or Rulers. So, Obama is most certainly not a Republican; he doesn’t align himself with empowering the individual, with supporting a middle class.
BUT – apart from this alignment, he himself is not interested in developing the policies and programs. He’ll leave that to others, as long as the results are socialist and function to control the Congress, the House, the people.
No, I don’t think that his behaviour is simply as a ‘black American’. Admittedly, he listened to the Rev Wright’s anti-white tirades for over 20 years. i suggest that this feeling is held more by his wife than by Obama.
I think that Obama is motivated by narcissism – a pathological narcissism, which requires him to constantly search for adulation and accolades, which requires him to constantly campaign, and preach. Not debate. Not discuss. Preach. Obama won’t and can’t debate and discuss because he’s indifferent to the analysis of policies. He’s socialist only because it puts him into that Elite Class of Sovereign Rulers.
No, I don’t think that Obama will ‘see the error of his beliefs’. That’s because his ‘beliefs’ don’t emerge from an intellectual exercise but from a psychological need. I think that Obama will become more entrenched in these ‘beliefs’ and more controlling, more censorious, more restrictive of freedom and individual rights.
Got ya!
BO is the elitiest of the elites. Tasks like policy are to be delegated to someone of appropriate station, so long as BO is doing the delegating.
ET, point well-taken, although very often the two go hand-in-hand. Not always.
The big Owe is NOT the problem. He is merely the symptom of a far deeper societal malaise. Attacking the symptom serves only to make us look foolish. Unfortunately I doubt that many in our society are willing to make the sacrifices needed. Too many of us suffer from the Homer Simpson syndrome “Oh look a shiny”. It is far easier to poke holes in his policy or find fault with his personality than it is to “Pick up the shovel and dig another well”. The rot of millions of individuals have brought us to this yawning chasm and only the desperately hard work of millions shall propel us back to a more solid footing. Maybe the looming debt crisis will provide the impetus but I doubt it. Oh look a shiny!

2nd U.S. soldier in Iraq challenges eligibility
Says issue could decide if ‘we are a Constitutional Republic’
Another U.S. soldier on active duty in Iraq is joining a challenge to President Obama’s eligibility to be commander-in-chief, citing WND’s report on 1st Lt. Scott Easterling, who has agreed to be a plaintiff in a lawsuit over the issue, as his inspiration.
“I was inspired by 1LT Easterling’s story and am writing you to inform you that I would like to be added as a plaintiff against Obama as well if you feel it would help your case,” said the soldier, identified for this report only as a reservist now on active duty in Iraq.
His letter was directed to California attorney Orly Taitz who, along with her DefendOurFreedom.us Foundation, is working on a series of legal cases seeking to uncover Obama’s birth records and other documents that would reveal whether he meets the requirements of the U.S. Constitution.
Easterling, who confirmed separately to WND that he is questioning Obama’s authority, wrote to Taitz that, “As an active-duty officer in the United States Army, I have grave concerns about the constitutional eligibility of Barack Hussein Obama to hold the office of president of the United States.”

joe – sorry, I disagree with your outline. It’s not an analysis but a statement of belief, and insists on a general notion of ‘Sin’. That’s hardly the cause and ‘digging another well’ is an ambiguous statement akin to Obama’s own ‘Hope and Change’.
It is correct and necessary to evaluate, critique and debate Obama and the Democrat policies. It is also correct and necessary to evaluate, critique and debate Obama’s psychological nature that moves him to act as he does.
mike – this story has been going around for a while. I doubt its veracity. Certainly, there can be doubt about Obama’s eligibility for the position of President, and it is worrisome that he and his office won’t release records. But, until the Supreme Court steps in – and remember, it already did so when it swore him into office, twice, these stories remain ‘urban myths’.
You will notice that even in the throws of agony over the reality that this liberal jerkwad is experiencing …….. he never once comes close to acknowledging the Democrats role in creating and nurturing the problems.
Liberalism is a Mental Disorder.
How did we get into this mess?
One reason is because the popular entertainment and info culture is dominated by leftist opinion and leftist activists.
If we can’t change this herd mentality, then repairing our country is going to be a very uphill battle.
Another reason is the very thing we used to talk about up here during the Harper campaign.
The US was different from Canada. Over the years we had installed a conservative infrastructure. Think tanks, conservative talk radio, Fox News, conservative magazines and publications.
The thing is, we conservatives really believed that all this infrastructure gave us a certain margin of safety. We knew that Democrats could win an election, but we thought that the constant drumbeat of education on Rush and the others really made a sweeping far-leftist takeover very unlikely.
Well, you can see what happened. Natuarally, there are other reasons too, like Democrats messing with our primary process — but that gets a little esoteric.
Here’s what we have going for us. The Republican House is pretty hard core, even though a minority. And only 3 members of the Republican Senators caved on the “stimulus” bill, and they are the usual suspects.
There are Democratic Congressmen elected in largely conservative districts who have to concede to some conservative votes in order to remain in office. They can be persuaded sometimes to vote with Republicans. (This is called “voting your conscience”.)
And then of course in 2010 we at least have a potential of acquiring more Republicans. If we could get enough in the House, we could just about block anything.
But Greg – why do you think that Obama and the Democrats want to get the census under the control of the White House? They are going to ‘estimate’ rather than actually count voters and that will give them the edge in voting patterns as it will reset electoral districts.
Plus, they are moving now, rapidly, against the First Amendment, Freedom of Speech. If they receive a setback, as they did in the House today, they’ll simply reword it and submit it as an unstated effect of a different bill. Their agenda is to curtail the ability of Americans to critique, dissent, debate in public. That is, the agenda is to control discussion by radio, television and the internet.
You Republicans had bettertake these two changes seriously.
Obama is moving against the First Amendment, the Second Amendment and the Tenth Amendment. The tenth amendment, by the way, empowers States versus the centralist federal government. The effect will be to effectively remove the middle class, by which I mean, the unfettered, free, small business, individuals and increase the dependency of people on the central government.
ET too bad you didn’t enjoy my homey bit of wisdom because I drew it from a song by Paul Overstreet.
Well Ike had a blessing from the Lord up above
He gave him a beautiful woman to love
A place to live and some land to farm
Two good legs and two good arms
Well the devil came sneakin’ around one night
Decided he would do a little evil to Ike
Figured he would hit old Ike where it hurts
so he filled up all of Ike’s wells with dirt
And when Ike went out for his morning drink
He got a dipper full of dirt and his heart did sink
But he knew it was the devil so he said with a grin
God blessed me once and he can do it again
He blessed me once and he can do it again
So when the rains don’t fall and the crops all fail
And the cows ain’t puttin’ any milk in the pail
Don’t sit around waitin’ for a check in the mail
Just pick up the shovel and dig another well
Pick up the shovel and dig another well
Now me and old Ike got a lot in common
The Lord blessed me with a beautiful woman
He gave me a job he gave me a home
He gave me a well to call my own
Now when I go out for my morning drink
And get a dipper full of dirt my heart does sink
But I think of old Ike and I have to grin
Cause God blessed me once and he can do it again
He blessed me once and he can do it again
When the rains don’t fall and the crops all fail And the cows ain’t puttin’ any milk in the pail
Don’t sit around waitin’ for a check in the mail
Just pick up the shovel and dig another well
Pick up the shovel and dig another well
Well the good book says Ike finally won
The devil got tired and he left him alone
All I know someday I’m gonna win too
Cause the good book tells me what to do
Pick up the shovel and dig another well
Pick up the shovel and dig another well
Pick up the shovel and dig another well
and yes Paul is a Christian.
BTW I do stand by what I wrote. All the analysis in the world isn’t going to change a thing until people begin to make a difference. People only make a difference when they look past present circumstance, get over their selfishness and begin to work towards a better world.

That boys and girls is what being scorned, suckered, and hoodwinked does to a human being.
It’s sometime referred to as “going ballistic”.
Joe- thanks. That’s a really great song.
ET,
you’re right, and we are aware of it.
As you have already seen on another thread, Pelosi has backed on the 2nd Amendment issue, at least for the time being.
The National Rifle Association is probably the largest, most well-funded, and populist group in Washington. (I’m a member.)
When Democrats have tried to move against guns in the past, it has cost them dearly.
Many Democrats are serious gun owners, and I don’t think that calculating members of the Democratic Party want to provoke that much opposition when they have such an ambitious agenda.
The freedom of speech issue is also worrisome. However, for Democrats to suddenly make conservative opinion disappear would once again create such discord that it is unlikely that they would choose to polarize the American public against in such an obvious manner.
Should they try to move more surreptitiously, it would mean a lot of very serious and public court battles. Possibly they could win, but it would be at great cost, and I think they would have to measure their desire to get into an arena where lawyers to be the deciding factor.
I even suspect that Rush and some of the others are trying intentionally to antagonize the left to come after them in order to have a media circus about freedom of speech.
The redistricting you mentioned goes on constantly when parties switch power. It certainly would not do us any good, but it still might not be sufficient to keep the right from gaining more seats in the House in 2010.
Remember, something like 46% of us voted against Obama and already he is making enemies among swing voters who supported him. With these new tax levies that Obama would like on people making over $250,000 a year, a lot of small businesses, Democrats included, are going to have their toes severely stepped on.
I don’t for a moment assume that the right can win all these battles, but it might not take much more attack on the American system to increase the numbers of voters and activists who feel betrayed by the Bamster.
“Remember, something like 46% of us voted against Obama”
Hey, maybe the US could all get together with those that didn’t vote and claim, “Well I didn’t vote for him”! Oh wait…
I watched the election campaign play out in the all too typical way. The conservatives try to show common sense and reasonable fairness for all and the left leaning liberals use scare tactics to demonize them. Well, I will watch as the once great nation completely self-destucts. I’m never scared of conservatives, because they allow for other opinions. The liberals now in power are going to scare us all. The assault on the middle class will be swift. America, I salute you as you were once a great, mighty and fair leader in the world. You were a good example to many nations. It’s very very sad that the likes of Barney Frank and Nancy Pelosi could wrestle away your soul. I bid you a sad farewell.
In the immortal words of Jenine Gerofalo, “we are doomed… dooooomed!”
