No matter what the turn of phrase, Nov. 4, 2008, will go down in the history books as the beginning of the end of the 30-year political reign of the ultra-right and its vicious pro-corporate agenda, and the end of a beginning of new politics in the United States of America.
Convinced by the power of one man’s arguments for hope, unity and change, his program and example, a 52 percent majority of voters rejected the old politics of fear, racism and red-baiting and elected Barack Obama the 44th president of the United States.
Perhaps it was historically inevitable that this country elected its first African American president. The dynamics of slavery, race and racism, together with the historic role of the African American freedom movement in helping propel the expansion of democracy for all people, have always been a central narrative to the making of America.
Like a lot of people I watched the US election very closely and the only people playing the “race card” were Obama and his supports.
Think Pavlov’s dog…… For 8 years, these cretins have been trained to HATE the President, (not just Bush). You can’t turn that off overnight! Why do you think the Obomination has so much security? Obama’s been marketed, by the US power structure, as the “new Man of the People”, and the voters fell for it, as did the Disney-raised MSM.
We had the same BS when Trudeau was marketed as the “new, young, voice of Canada”, and as we found out, all the time he represented the Canadian Establishment,kissed the ass of Paul Demerais.
The “from a nobody to President” scenario we’re being asked to believe, is for the naive and peurile. Storybook endings are manufactured by billionaires or the entertainment industry, and lately there seems to be a lot of trouble discerning which is which.
Obama isn’t a Communist turned loose in the White House, he’s a slightly socialist politician who played the game very well, and will obey his masters. He’ll try a few socialist ideas,to placate the more idealistic members of his retinue, but won’t be allowed to change the economic system.

There is some good evidence for this. For example it was pointed out in a NP essay that all the presidents going back to, I believe Eisenhower, were all Ivy League graduates. Most graduated from Harvard. McCain and Palin were on the outside, very much, from the “establishment”. Just as Paul Demerais is accused in hand picking Canadian PMs (and some Ontario Premiers) going back to Trudeau, someone such as George Soros is likely behind recent Dem Presidents. According to the Wikipedia biography, he is behind Obama. Soros was also big in the attempt to defeat Bush in the 2004 election.

The first time I ever heard 52% called a “landslide.” If blacks voted 80-20 for Dems instead of 99%, this election could have gone the other way.

The news media which is right wing played the race card. Obama is smart and Mcain’s people would’ve have been beaten even worse if they started anything about race. I think all of America including big buisness know the free ride is over. Big buisness dealings were destroying the country.
