I’ll be busy in a seminar today, but this page may reveal the lucky 10 millionth visitor, if someone out there is quick enough to catch it. My guess is that we’ll click over around midday on Tuesday.
Update: As I explained, I wasn’t able to monitor the site during the big Sitemeter click-over due to other commitments. According to some of you, the 10 millionth visit came from Charlotte, North Carolina. Unless someone caught a screenshot of that visitor’s details, their identity will always be a mystery. But it was fun to watch the symbolic* number fall, nonetheless.
Thanks to everyone for your kind comments, and to the guest bloggers and commentors who help enrichen the content here. SDA has evolved into a bit of a monster, and it would be extremely difficult to manage it without the generousity of those who volunteer their time and their suggestions.
(*I say symbolic, because Sitemeter only captures a percentage of the traffic. The actual server stats register a few thousand visits more each day that don’t show up on the public counter.)

I think my favorite is how you continue to show what a joke our national and international media is! Here’s to the next 10,000,000!

  13. This is Launch Control ~ We are now at V minus 5000 and counting. Pressurization of the fuel tanks continues. There is a sheduled slow-down in the launch sequence in a few hours, after which power will be transferred to the launch vehicle, and we will switch over to internal guidance systems 😉

    You have saved my sanity over the years that you have been here. I always know that I will find a cool, strong voice of reason when I visit here. I know that I will read things that I want to know told in a manner that I can identify with – and understand.
    My favorite quote is “I guess Smalldeadanimals speaks for the people of Saskatchewan after all”*
    I picture forlorn Lorne’s gloomy old mug with that quote plastered on his forehead where ever he goes! It gives me great satisfaction to imagine how he rues the day he spoke those fateful words. Heh.

    When I discovered SDA I realized that I wasn’t the only small “c” conservative in Canada–conservative in the sense of conserving all that is honourable, noble, and real in this once-great Dominion.
    The feminists might be taking back the night. SDA is taking back our nation, one post at a time!

  20. Kate, do you have any way of telling what percentage of your visitors are repeat callers? I never miss a day when I have access to the Internet. That is the true measure of your success with this blog — the fact that people keep returning.
    I love your graphic that goes with “Not Waiting for the Asteroid” posts. Every time I see it, I am reminded of the bird cage liner that comes into our house — the Ottawa Citizen.

  31. well done. I yell at the radio, tv & newspapers all the time. I’ve even stopped listening to CFRB, never watch CBC, except for hockey, and have canceled the Red Star & the Mope & Wail. May even stop the Nationalized Post if they don’t shape up. Judging from the number of ads in the latter, they may fold before I get the chance.
    This is one of the very few places where sanity can be found. Thanks to Kate & the posters.
    The first 10 is the hardest. Congratulations to all.

  34. Congratulations to Kate. But, this blog isn’t simply for us, as individuals. A blog like this is vital for democracy.
    That’s because, with the MSM, whether print, radio or television, we the people have been reduced to being passive recipients of their Authoritative Wisdom. But, as Kate said – ‘you don’t speak for me’.
    She has given us back our voice; given us back what is our right: Freedom to Think and Speak, debate, analyze, come to our own conclusions.
    Blogs are extremely powerful, because they reduce the authoritative might of the one-way MSM to..well, only once voice among us all.
    Blogs are powerful. They spread information and knowledge. They self-correct. Post anything incorrect and in one nanosecond, someone will correct you. Post something ignorant and biased, and in another nanosecond you’ll be called to account.
    None of that happens with the MSM. It continues to pontificate its misinformation and bias.
    So, thanks Kate, for this blog, which is a powerful force in enabling Canadian democracy.

  44. That site meter is neat. I find it interesting that on the hits map there is a lot of dots in southern Ontario and even at the centre of the urinalverse. Go figure.
