  2. Well, if its going to be iceless this summer, it had better hurry up and get on with it. Satellite images still show an icebound Arctic. People seem to forget that the North West Passage was successfully navigated at the end of the 19th century and again in the middle of the 20th century.

    There are many examples going back a couple of hundred years where it was “icefree”. Hell,in 1984,August 01, myself and 15 other souls on board a Cp140 Aurora flew DIRECTLY over 00.00.00 deg North,and there was no ice. Nevermind the surrounding the 500,000 sq miles was soild. The North Pole is located under the Arctic Ocean,and as such,is subject to the variances of tidal shifts,wind shifts,etc. It is NOT on solid land,like the South Pole in Antarctica!!

Nightmare, given that justthinkin hasn’t specified wether or not it was true or magnetic north, and given that magnetic compasses are nearly useless at those latitudes, and given that he was flying in a military patrol aircraft, I think we could assume that his 0.0 deg is true north. Correct justthinkin’?

Then with the benefit of hindsight they will blame Bush, Harper, Arnold and other conservatives who were in power at the time of this hoax for creating it.

Afterwards when the true horror of his actions became evident the media and elites transformed him into a right winger.     I’ve flown up in the eastern arctic and seen Hudson Bay ice free in August to the point of seeing pods of beluga whales from 9000 ft.

Shouldn’t Canadian industry be pumping the gas out into the prevailing winds west of AB SK and MB to improve crop yield?
    CCT just diminishes the net profit of producing and refining oil, to the point of hindering investment here as opposed to regions without the regs. (Nigeria comes to mind as does Venezuela etc.)

    Remaining anonymous, what squadron were you with? I did a CP140 tour and two Argus tours out of CYZX (and one out of CYSU). For those confused about the two North Poles, the True North Pole is, as Justthinkin says, at the top of the world – but it is 90 degrees North, not OO.00.00N! The North Magnetic Pole was on Cornwallis Island when I last flew over it, but it moves around. Because compasses are unreliable up there, we use grid navigation with a stable gyroscope and normally plot on a polar stereographic map. And all directions are South at the North Pole, so false latitudes and longitudes are used to fool the nav system and avoid flying to Moscow instead of Yellowknife. And there are polynyas and vast open leads in any year, so open water can be found.

    The measurements we used are TRUE North. No military flies by magnetic. Too unreliable. And GPS don’t need know stinkin magnetic waves…heh.

    Spend 7 years ZX(404). Been to SU,but only for the darts…lol.Transfered spring ’88 to sunny 440 SAR (YEG). BIG change from 140’s to Twotters. But man,those little buggers can land/takeoff from the back of your 1/2 ton. The ulitimate STOL. No wonder they were used for SAR in the mountains/territories.

  29. I remember early this spring the stories where how the cherry blossoms were likely to be so early that they would fall outside of the festival dates in Washington, DC. Of course they printed the stories prior to the blossom. Turned out that they came on the late side of normal.

    BTW, I have much more clover in my lawn this year and I too have one patch with many four leafed ones.
    It’s a childhood thing, we always looked for four leaf clovers in a patch. Soooo, can we credit this to climate change? I’m going to check with one of the clowns.

The Praries have been having twisters since the dawn of time, and yet NOW they are releasing unscientific papers and essays to alarm the public. It’s called manufactured mass hysteria, and it’s not working.

Persoanlly I refuse to watch the major networks anymore, they’ve got a clear and liberal agenda and bias.   34. In nature there is a cycle to everything. The artic ice pac has a southern limit and a northern limit. The cycle is 40 years, unfortunately I can’t remember if it is 40 total or 40 each way.

    Whatever you do, ignore the following facts:
    :: National average temperature is rising at double the global rate.
    :: Dramatically lower water levels in the upper Great Lakes.
    :: 32 cm increase in sea level as measured in Charlottetown over the 20th Century.
    :: A decrease in Arctic snow cover of 20 days since the 50’s
    The world is warming, and whether you choose to acknowledge it or not is irrelevant. When it comes to the Jesus you can believe whatever crazy bullshit you want, but facts are facts, and the world is a hotter place than it was 50 years ago. Any retard older than 20 knows that winters are not as cold as they use to be.
    The Arctic may not be ice free this year, but it will be soon. Everybody is planning for this eventuality.

  41. Maybe it is all the volcanos have stopped erupting in the ocean under the artic ice? Last year the artic was being melted by volcanic heat. With those volcanos quiet there is not much left to melt them.

    But the religionists who ‘beleive in’ global warming, even though they have never be given any proof of it, will find it hard to admit how gullible they are. People who have made AGW foundational in their lives are going to find it very difficult to admit that the planet is actually in a cooling phase due to sun spots.
