Moreoever, popular Jewish-Canadian blogger Ezra Levant, who is blogging live from the hearing, and who is the subject of his own human rights commission complaint, published a description of the unnamed Catholic forum. Several details match, including the screen names of two participants to the Catholic Answers forum discussion of Steyn’s article.
Imagine that! Canada’s human rights tribunals are now attempting to prosecute a case against an American resident, based upon what an American citizen allegedly posted to a mainstream American Catholic website. What passes for mainstream Catholic discussion in America is now the basis for a hate complaint in Canada.

Update Confirmation has been received that Catholic Answers is indeed the site named. It’s described thus: “Catholic Answers is one of biggest Catholic media empires in the U.S., and is especially popular among young orthodox Catholics.”

I just thought, as a simplistic late-teen in the early 90’s that it would be the atheists and socialists who criminalized religion, not Islam.

At this moment I am amazed with the position of each and every person targeted by the complaints with HRC, except for Ezra Levant, who in my opinion did the only right thing.
If I was contacted by the HRC regarding a complaint filed against me, I would not even bother to reply.
Instead I would have made it as public as possible, that I do not consider the HRC as a factually existing body, because I can’t fathom that government of any Canadian province (except Ontario, of course) could possibly have created a body charged with infringing on the freedom of speech.
And they I would have sat and watched what the commission would have done.
Ezra did the only right thing – he taunted the commission. But he’s a lawyer and can take care of himself his own way.
That 2nd comment seems a little long just to point out they are not happy that Canada allows Muslim immigrants. The commenter should take that complaint to Canada’s Ministry of Immigration.

I offer most of my blog entries to the commissions. Its contents should keep them busy for the next 75-years and out of every one else’s hair!
O I forgot! It is well for those commissions that the writ of US courts does not extend into Canada as “Violations Of Civil Rights Under Color Of Law” is both a felony in the USA and a cause of action for civil cases.
Post-modern secularists of the pro-feminist and pro-gay type must ultimately attempt to destroy the Christian Church (and all religions).
This is not paranoia but the natural direction of their philosophical beliefs. Simply put, they believe that the truth is constructed through narratives. Christianity puts forward a narrative which is at odds with the radical autonomous individualism present within Western feminism and especially much gay thought. These movements, as we have seen, are not satisfied with being one narrative amongst many. They must find ways to shut down our narrative and are currently doing it through these tribunals.
First they kick you out of the public square, then they limit your community’s expression, then they attempt to indoctrinate your children in their pro-feminist and pro-gay narrative.
What Christians must do in the current climate is to assert themselves and do it regularly. We must enter the Public Square, assert our narrative as being valid there, and let these other groups howl.
One suggestion for Canadians, is to get the Churches in your community together to have a special Christian Town Hall meeting during every provincial and federal election. It lets politicians know that there is a Christian voice out there. In our town the feminists will howl about a pro-life politician, then the guy comes to the Christian Town Hall and we howl at him for being not pro-life enough. It is really rich.

How many people or polities threw history have tried to demolish not only Christianity but this Church?? How many are left. None! I’m not even Catholic, but only a dupe takes on a society 2000 years old, than thinks there going to win after all before have fallen. The Reformation was & still is a family affair that because of secularization to ban religion, has becomes less a factor in real Christianity by the year . We pretty much believe the same basics anyway.
