Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

New sock puppet Johnny?…how creative!
I wonder how quickly this yapper on MSNBC would convert to islam if the jihadists held a saber to his Bush hating appeaser neck?
Pretty damned quick, like the FOX news guy Steve Centanni did a while back.
So why waste time listening to this drivel of a man, a professional critic whose business it is to be opinionated and controversial? Seriously, anyone who thinks that this rant is marked by any kind of truth and light on the subject is as brainwashed as he is. He has bought into the same ideology and worldview that Garth Turner spouts on yesterday’s blog. Nothing, absolutely nothing that actually has happened or will happen in the Iraq would change this kneejerk’s mind.
Olby may not be a complete idiot but he certainly plays one on TV. Or is that the other way around? doesn’t matter, the only thing missing is his frothing at the mouth which may have happened later on after I gave up trying to watch this drivel.
Interesting numbers.
Apparently, MSNBC is so unattractive, its ratings are waaaay down.
After watching the entire video, I can see why.
What an absolute tool. He’s making an even bigger fool of himself than he thinks he’s making of bush.
Jack, I agree Keith is quite rabid most times, but do you deny that the entire war is based on lies, propaganda, and fear? That the constant resort of the government to justify anything they want, such as the patriot act (my god what a name) is to claim that if republican’s aren’t running things, the terrorists will kill us all?
I think the U.S. should stay in Iraq and finish what they started, but the manner in which it was carried out, and the naivety of Bush’s administration when they got there, as well as the justification, and reasoning behind the war are absolutely ridiculous? Saddam’s a threat because he’s got weapons of mass destruction….that…we sold them, to kill the Iranian’s and Kurds in the 80’s, along with every other western nation out there. That’s some moral high ground you’ve got there.
I thought this guy was going to pop an artery, he was almost spitting.
What may be even worse is the Obama Fawning Syndrome.
I’m not sure why everyone is focused on if a democrat were in, there would be another attack. I don’t see that in the video anywhere from Bush. I’m not a huge fan of everything Bush has done but he truthfully answered the question of what the doomsday scenario would be if they pulled out of Iraq. I thought the answer was pretty obvious.
I thought that the US screwed up when they didn’t remove Sadam the first time, but that is how it happened. I would challenge this man to go and live in Sadam’s Iraq spouting his opinions about the government. Fact is, he would be imprisoned and killed.
He has some points, but they are completely lost in the fact that he portrays himself as an out of control lunatic ranting away. How can you take someone like that seriously?
While his delivery could be improved, he is absolutely correct. Fancy that.
Wow. That’s amazing. And he looks so nice with the sound off too, he could be reading the weather.
Anybody think MSNBC would broadcast The Phantom or maybe somebody famous going after Hillary/Obama (HObama? Hey, that’s got possibilities eh?) in quite such an… unrestrained… kind of a way?
Why do otherwise sane people listen to this terrorists-friendly, extreme left moron?
Olbermann has such an obsession with Bill O’Reilly and Bush that it makes me wonder if there isn’t a bit of a man crush going on there.
Like the way maudlin stalks Kate, it is not too healthy.
BTW, I think its worth pointing out that Bush is a Big Government Liberal, the proof being reports this week that the US government has broken all size records this year.
Mr. Olberman wants to be outraged about something, I could get on-side with him about that. Otherwise, not so much.
Shameful emotional and silly outburst by another MSM puppet
Uncontrollably quivering while yelling “The war in Iraq is not about you” is self defeating and oxymoronic.
Jebus says “Jack, I agree Keith is quite rabid most times, but do you deny that the entire war is based on lies, propaganda, and fear?”
Yes….I do deny it. You may want to go back and review the reasons for going into Iraq in the first place….WMD’s were only one of the reasons and the real lies and propaganda are being perpetuated by the left wing media who seem to have forgotten the many other reasons.
Iraq declared war on America.
Iraq tried to kill American servicemen.
Iraq tried to assassinate an American President.
Iraq paid suicide bombers $25,000 to kill Americans.
Iraq trained and funded Al Queda
Iraq failed to comply with UN Peace Accords.
Iraq bought yellow cake from Nigeria (three tons found in Iraq)
Iraq did have WMD’s (some were even used in IEDs)
The Polish Secret Police report that Iraq officials met with 911 hijackers in Prague.
Iraq met with 911 terrorists in Sudan
Three independent sources report that Iraq moved tons of WMDs to Syria’s Bakka Valley
Regardless of what your readers may think, this is how most of the world thinks. Most Americans now accept this version of events too. The Republicans and George Bush have lost the war of public opinion.
hey Mel; “lost the war of public opinion”?
which is why George W. Bush was elected to a second term
and which is why McCain will win the next election without breaking a sweat
is this guy on MSNBC insane? probably… does he sleep well at night? not likely….
Prior to this, I have thankfully never seen MSNBC video, and hopefully will not in the future.
Iraq declared war on America.
-I’ve spent a bit of time trying to google for that, and can’t find that information anywhere, so I’m very inclined to believe that you’re simply making that up.
Further to that, even if they did declare war…wooo, scary. Nobody was trading with them anyway except the ridiculous oil for food program, and Iraq isn’t exactly an ocean going nation now are they?
Iraq tried to kill American servicemen.
-When? Where? Why were American soldiers in another sovereign nation?
Iraq tried to assassinate an American President.
-When did this happen? Didn’t the U.S. set up Saddam and the Baath party in the first place? And hasn’t there been numerous attempts on Saddam’s life? Why is it ok for the U.S. to do that to Iraq but not vice-versa?
Iraq paid suicide bombers $25,000 to kill Americans.
-When were these suicide attacks carried out? I don’t recall any news stories about Iraqi suicide bombers blowing up American’s at home or abroad, not have I seen any evidence of bounties directly funded by the government of Iraq.
Iraq trained and funded Al Queda
-WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!?!? Since when? Where did this happen? 15 of the 19 hijackers in 9/11 were Saudi Arabians. By your logic we should have invaded Suadi Arabia. Why haven’t we? There’s CERTAINLY been terrorist attacks against American’s in the Saudi Kingdom, so why don’t we invade them?
Iraq failed to comply with UN Peace Accords.
-This I agree on, but because they are UN peace accords, that’s for the U.N. to decide a course of action, not the U.S.
Iraq bought yellow cake from Nigeria (three tons found in Iraq)
-Have you so quickly forgotten than France actually built them a nuclear power plant, gave them the technology, and the fuel? The Israeli’s bombed that plant to hell and back the second it was completed. Far easier than invading an entire nation.
Iraq did have WMD’s (some were even used in IEDs)
-That was known as far back as the 80’s, and the wester world actively supported and encouraged Iraq because it was fighting Iran. Why did that suddenly change? Why did the U.S. suddenly invade even if they DID have any. Not only that, there were no mass methods of delivery, nor were any massive stockpiles found.
The Polish Secret Police report that Iraq officials met with 911 hijackers in Prague.
-So? Even though this seems completely without credibility (Osama being a religous man and Iraq being a secular government that mocked the entire religion of Islam), let’s assume it’s true. We know that tons of countries support terrorism from around the world, including the U.S. for their own purposes. Why does that require an invasion?
Iraq met with 911 terrorists in Sudan
-Evidence??
Three independent sources report that Iraq moved tons of WMDs to Syria’s Bakka Valley
-Again, those were mostly sold to them by western governments in Europe during the 80’s, and the ability to create those weapons was not home grown. Why did this require an invasion when it posed no threat to absolutely ANYBODY.
He of the spray on tan and fresh from being fired from the hard news dept of ESPN. As well as being fired from Fox sports, burns bridges whenever and wherever he go’s. Mr Olby has a gift for the one liner, the “after all aren’t we all listed day to day line” was priceless. What is not priceless is how this self important, moral crusader with a limited viewer pulpit go’s off on anybody he choses too. I have seen more than enough of Mr Olby and his rants. General Electric NBC’s parent co has lost their collective corporate minds letting him go off as they do, but, that hard turn too crazy left seems to be what they think will work. It won’t and it doesn’t. What he says about Sen Clinton in this election race is outrageous, and he has moderated the Democratic debates! His man crush on Sen. Obama, his ongoing pathetic ranting about the present government in the United States. President Bush, Vice President Cheney, Bill O’Reilly, Fox News, Glen Beck, Rush Limbaugh and anyone and everybody else, while all the time stealing Edward R Murrows sign off tag line “Good night and Good luck”. Make me gag.
This guy is an embarrassment to everything and anything but the hardest hardcore left moonbats that feed on this nonsense. Please, please keep paying him the reported 4mil a year? he gets while repelling viewers. Love to see that business model. There is no way anyone could garner their information from this jackass on his cable “news” show and not have the most slanted, and pessimistic of views of the USA, and the world.
What an asshole.
Wow, these leftists really are invested in defeat, not just in Iraq, but in America. On the other hand, McCain keeps sidling up to the left, although its unlikely he’ll relent on the war, he sure is working his hardest to alienate conservatives. Forcast for the next four years, a whole lot more government. May we find a real conservative for 2012.

** Breaking news today.
http://www.2la.org/syria/iraq-wmd.php
A journalist has named three locations in Syria where Saddam’s WMD cache is stored.
This confirms an account by one of Iraq’s air force generals, who wrote a book about the WMD transfers. **

Frustrating; There seemed to be no way to feedback and let MSNBC know how offensive that emotional rant really is. * Feedback * or * comment * may be there, but I haven*t got all day to look for it. = TG
Jebus said: “Why did this require an invasion when it posed no threat to absolutely ANYBODY.”
Yeah, right on man! Nobody! Well, except Israel, and who cares about those Zionist guys?! Just because they’re our allies doesn’t mean anything, right?
Oreilly outdraws Olberman but something like 20 to one. Essentially he’s talking to himself.
He’s a pussy with Brylcream in his hair. Perhaps George Clooney will play him in a movie one day.
Iraq declared war on America.
Iraq tried to kill American servicemen.
– Iraq violated the terms that ended the Gulf War, and often fired on American and UK aircraft enforcing the no-fly zone. American and UK forces had to attack Iraqi installations as a result. That, is a declaration of war in any context.
Iraq tried to kill a US president.
– there is a well documented plot by Saddam to kill Bush senior … it’s so well documented, in fact, that leftists often quote it as the “real” reason Bush junior attacked Iraq.
$25,000 to kill Americans.
– Iraq paid $25000 to Palestinian families for murder suicide. Americans were killed in some attacks.
Al Qaida
– Al Qaida had contact with the Iraq government, but there is no evidence of cooperation. Saddam supported terrorist organization which later allied with Al Qaida, so it’s a fuzzy trail.
– yellow cake
Who built what and how doesn’t change the fact that Saddam had a nuke program in violation of the UN. French involvement predates UN resolutions.
WMD
– the spook community was wrong. Saddam had WMD in the past, used them against Kurds and Iran, but either shipped them out, or destroyed them. At this point, nobody knows. The point is, that he very deliberately played a game of cat and mouse to mislead the UN. Most spooks thought he had them, and there was no clear reason to believe otherwise.
911 Terrorists in Sudan
– ??? no proof
If you really want the goods on pre-war Iraq, and more, read the Duelfer Report. It’s the most detailed analysis produced, and the most factual. Funny though, leftists never quote it … I wonder why? Maybe, it’s because rants like the one posted would seem that much more insane. They are based on myths, not facts.
http://www.lib.umich.edu/govdocs/duelfer.html
Hey, that was quite the emotive rant!
There are enough UN resolutions on Iraq to fill your dance card. Everyone knows that Saddam was not to be confused with Mr. Nice Guy and many Democrats are on record over the period in the run up to the Iraq dust up confirming same.
For the Dems to come back and play Monday morning quarter back is quite disingenuous.
The fact that Rumsfeld and co. overplayed their hand thinking they would be welcomed as liberators was undeniably an error.
Bush and co. took corrective action with the surge policy and it appears to be working in the near term. This would be militarily somewhat analogous, though the numbers are significantly less, to Dieppe being discounted and resulting in the Normandy landings.
For Mr. Olbermann to take such a ridiculous tack is to ask whether he would like to speak German instead? Hey, he’s got a german sounding name! Or perhaps an airliner crashed into his offices at MSNBC would improve his Arabic language skills?
Let us put it this way, if Bush had done precisely nothing after 9/11 and decided to strike up a conversation with any assortment of tin pot dictators what kind of media response would there have been?
Had FDR decided to strike up a conversation with Imperial Japan after Pearl Harbour I’m sure his poll numbers would have improved immensely. Ha! Ha!
This guy reminds me of Lord Haw Haw. Isn’t there another opening at Al-Jazeera so he can join Tony Burman formerly of the CBC?

He calls Mr. Bush “sir”, and suggests at one point Bush should build himself a statue. OK, so, is he, like, for or against George Bush?
No WMD in Iraq?
The biggest weapon of mass destruction in Iraq was no secret. It was responsible for, on average, of killing 200 -300 people every single day for 23 years. It was found hiding in a spider hole and last appeared on the news as the guest of honour at a neck tie party.
Who says Canada can’t compete with the US? This is the kind of unbiased, thoughtful commentary you often see on our very own CBC.
It is oh so more compelling, knowing my hard earned tax dollars play a tiny part in producing such dreck.
I heard an investment advisor refer to MSNBC as MSLSD.
I don’ know if that goes far enough to cover Olby.
ET:
Thanks for the cross-post on Iraq WMD’s new homes in Syria.
Just found it by googling Iraq WMD.
I’m sure that idiot talking head would have found the same information, available since January, had he even acted in the public interest.
Thankfully, I’ve never seen this buffoon before and judging by the ratings, there’s many people who don’t bother.
The left-wing loons who agree with him, unfortunately, are quite vocal about it. They seem to be of the opinion that if they’re not challenged on their statements, they must be correct.
Anyway, I agree there’s no WMD’s left in Iraq. It’s because they’re all in Syria now.
Does the UN have the guts to send in inspectors or are they content to have Syria ship these weapons to Hizb’allah? Rhetorical, I know.
Keith is right on.
When will people get your head out of the sand and realize Bush is still foolin them…sad
The whole of MSNBC reporting and commentary is focussed on negative opinion of the Bush Admin.
They’ve jumped onto every bogus bandwagon since W got the nod for the GOP and haven’t let up. Olberman is just the loudest … followed by Chris Mathews. All hardcore LIberal Democrats.
As for Obamarama … the reason he barked was because he felt the chain jerk. He knows where he’s been and what stink he left behind and does not want people to be reminded.
Does anyone know the background of this VILE, BOTTOM DWELLING PIECE OF SHIT, OLBERMANN, I’m going to go into hiding? I don’t have TV access to MSNBC, and I’ve never seen him nor heard of him before.
I vehemently opposed the invasion of Iraq, and I do believe that Bush is, shall we say, less than competent. However, if that puts me in the same box with that raving maniacal “newsman”, I’m going into hiding for the duration.
Summom bonum, agreed – nobody does it better than our own home grown propaganda machine. Think Olbermann was actually interviewing for Al Jazeera? I hear they’re hiring.
I was so upset when I entered my post of 4:09 that, somehow, part of my last paragraph crept into the first one. Here’s the corrected version:
Does anyone know the background of this VILE, BOTTOM DWELLING PIECE OF SHIT, OLBERMANN ? I don’t have TV access to MSNBC, and I’ve never seen him nor heard of him before.

Nice rant there Oby, but it needs more cowbell.
“I gotta fever…..”
That man has a burning stomach and probably has had it for the past eight years. I like that. That level of bitterness will play havoc with his imune system and likley take time off his life. I like that too.
Zog.
Oby is a sports announcer from ESPN, and FOX Sports no kidding. He is quick with the one liners, glib of comment is on the Sunday Night football NFL cast NBC runs with Bob Costa he did a pretty funny show with Dan Patrick on ESPN Radio. Then he went nuts. He is totally self absorbed, worse, he really believes this crap.

Talking head,
Keith had a “Melt Down” of sorts @ MSNBC “before” he went back to Sports (He was the Clinton Boy child). This is his second run to ground @ msnbc.
MSNBC is not a news network. Olbermann proves it. They are the ones that did the fake little girl at the North Pole (see the penguins) piece too. The ratings tell the story!
Olbermann…..Craig Oliver on steroids…
Well that was predictably tedious and painful. Couldn’t he have simply compressed it into: “I hate George Bush and you should too.”?
Heroin withdrawal is an ugly thing!
What a complete and utter POS!
