  18. For some reason, that “50 lebs” thing made me think of the classic clown-car gag. Can’t you just picture it? 50 dishrag-clad fanatics leaping out of a Honda Civic. Gesticulating wildly and screaming Allahu Ackbar. Then leaping back into the Civic and peeling out, while their car horn blares the Lebanese national anthem. Maybe I’m just weird, but now I really WANT to see that! 🙂

  29. Seriously, I think that SOME (not all) of the comments I read here are mostly the stuff of schoolyard taunting. They diminish SDA.
    If someone has threatened a member of the bloggosphere with physical violence, then the police need to be notified.
    It is also good to show the true face of the enemies of free speech and Western thinking, and of mindless anti-semitism.
    But this childish teasing based on the person’s appearance really is the stuff of bully circles and will do nothing to promote the ideas and causes that we all feel are important.
    I ask people to consider that what they are posting in this topic, as with all others, will be read by people whose support we would like to have. Many of the comments I have read today embarrass me on behalf of SDA.

    Olds better stock up on groceries because they’re about to reach a famine status, otherwise call the WHO because a humanitarian crisis is about to unfold and food aid will be needed! At least we won’t need to send millions of taxpayer dollars to the Middle East to save radical Islam; we’ve managed to cut costs by bringing the problem to central Alberta.

    Do you think Khalil Jeha likes being centered out and mocked? She has no problems doing it to Ezra Levant on her Jew-hating facebook group.
    It is important that Khalil Jeha, the big tough islamic leb realizes that we are not taking any shit off of her.

  42. Lori, most reasonable people have no patience with unwarrented bullying. However in the case of Khalil Jeha he, and anyone else who cares to put their name to a Facebook page aimed at a “piece of sh*t jew”, is simply asking for it.
    Had this person simply kept his mouth shut to begin with, and his hateful opinions to himself, then today he would be residing in blissful anonymity. Tollerance is a two way street.

  49. My commitment to freedom of speech is unquestioned. I’ve been on top of the Levant story from day 1, donated multiple times, including today, and left multiple supportive comments in many of his threads. I posted so much about Levant in the Globe and Mail comments last month that I was blocked from posting after a week.
    I was also among the first 10 people to sign the Free Dominion HRC petition.

    I trust everyone here has signed it. So feel free to end the suggestion that I am not for free speech.
    But it doesn’t matter if people like Khalil Jeha behave like pigs. This person is a nobody or a petty criminal. We are better than this type of person, and we can fight back without embarrassing ourselves.
    Look at what Ezra Levant has done to bring things to the public eye, at how the world outside the bloggosphere has embraced his actions. It has been a huge victory for right-minded people, after years of erosion of our rights and principles by agenda-driven activists manipulating the sheep-like masses.
    But his accomplishment was via the clarity and force of his argument, repeated again and again, to all who would hear. Not through petty insults which would have turned off most audiences.
    If you are a person coming to SDA, don’t “know the room”, and read some of what’s here, you might read this thread and be left wondering just what kind of people are advocating freedom of speech, and what they want it for. So they can make fat jokes?
    WE ARE better than the liberal fascists.
    We will win back this country because WE ARE BETTER THAN THEY ARE. We are smarter. We are stronger. And our ideology is superior.
