As noted,they will probably figure out some way to say that with GW’s changing of DST,he’s responsible anyways,so again,what’s the problem? Why let facts get in the way of fear-mongering?     I heard that Global Warming can actually turn the brain cells of certain types of people (biff) to mush so that you (biff) will begin to believe whatever non-scientists tell you. I have even begun to see it happening(biff)to certain people.

Now they’re blaming kitten births on global warming, which itself isn’t proven and whose conclusions are based on an incredibly suspect and probably fatally flawed “science” with so much suspect data offered that it requires religious zeal to believe in it.
    A light at the end of the tunnel: my non-conservative sister-in-law surprised me by declaring the whole gw/cc thing to be B.S. So there’s at least one left-leaner who rejects Al Gore’s Big Fat Lie. The Chicken Littlists aren’t fooling everyone; not even every left-leaner, so it would appear that no matter how hard they try, no matter how many B.S. horror stories about the future they tell, no matter how many dissenters they threaten with death… they will fail to convince the people that we are responsible for imminent doomsday.
    Besides, even the Chicken Littlists have NOT changed their lifestyles, have NOT reduced their GHG emissions, etc… so why would anyone expect the average person to sign on to any plan that forces them to stop driving, ditch non-toxic incandescents for mercury-filled compact fluorescents, etc…?
    This nonsense is unsustainable. The people will turn against the horseshit and the greedy fearmongerers will read the writing on the wall that says, “No more money can be made scaring the crap out of people” and terminate the Scam of the Century.

  10. As for the increase in kitten births and the stray population, the blame must necessarily be placed upon those folks who don’t care for their cats, who don’t have them sterilized, who let them roam and screw around with other kitties, who just abandon them to fend for themselves…
    That’s who’s responsible. Not the weather, not the climate. And my own winter isn’t shorter; in fact, it’s suddenly started much, much earlier than it has in years!
    AS for the light and cycling in the female feline, well, I’d say that’s an inconvenient truth for the Globe and Mail… but I guess they didn’t know about that… too much of a bother to do research for the story!
    Again we hear a bizarre, unbacked claim which the Far Left conveniently attributes to claimed but unproven “global warming” which has NOT been demonstrably linked to humanity.
    And the Globe and Mail is just making itself look like a crap-rag (it IS one) in allowing such drivel to be published with a straight face.
    Next thing we read in that crap-rag might be that global warming is somehow responsible for international terrorism and that in order to fight terror we must quit burning fossil fuels… I’m sure some idiots will find a way to make a false connection there… or have they already done that?

  11. The other day on CBC Radio 2 there was a news report on the changing tastes of beer drinkers in Toronto.
    The intro stated that beer drinkers wanted to reduce their “carbon footprint” so they have started to drink beer from micro-breweries, and are starting to hurt the big guys (Labatts, Molsons). People were evidently concerned about the distances trucks had to drive to deliver their beer and the impact on the environment.
    However, in the actual report, there was no mention whatsoever of anyone, even in Toronto, specifically selecting their beer to reduce their carbon footprint. Rather, they liked supporting local small brewers and liked the variety these brewers had to offer.
    I tried to find the piece on the web and record it, but to no avail.
    It was one of the most bizarre intros I had ever heard.
    They’re just making this shit up….

  18. Justthinkin, that “nut” is a guy by the name of Tim Trow… and his is certifiable! I know this, I worked at THS in a senior managment position for 3 years before his insanity drove me away. He will literally say ANYTHING to take money from the public… there is no ethical fundraising done there, none at all. You should have seen the bullshit he pulled during Hurricane Katrina to milk money out of the public. That he’s decided to cash in on globull warming doesn’t surprize me in the least.
    Warning: do not give your money to THS. Trow and his board buddies are terribly corrupt. It’s a very very nasty place.

Therefore,I conclude,that global warming will lessen the need for amplifiers to have a maximum volume limit of 10,and possibly only a 9 will be needed in the near future. This will lessen our use of electricity to power the amps along with less energy needed to yell for beer and other necessary items.GW will save power as the world heats up. The universe is unfolding as it should.

    Those days are back, Cal. When I first learned of Environment Canada’s prediction that winter would start sooner, be colder and snowier, I also learned that meteorologists were blaming La Nina for it. You know, El Nino’s little sister…
    At least they aren’t blaming global warming for it. Probably decided it’d be too silly.
    But I find it interesting that La Nina miraclously made a reappearance. Call it the Second Coming. Why not just admit that maybe the world’s cooling, not warming?
    Wait a few years. Let’s see whether it feels any hotter. And let’s see if the climate changes catastrophically, globally. Or if it’s just more of the same, despite the skyrocketing increase in ghg emissions EVERYWHERE.
    The Great Swindle is unsustainable. But for the Swindlers, it was profitable while it lasted. And they’ll get away with the Swindle… after all, who’s going to prosecute them for this great con? There’s too many cons to prosecute. Pretty much the entire Left, plus the MSM, would go to jail!

    As you mentioned Matt , part of the problem is the insane adoption policy. For instance if you try to adopt a cat and you say it will be allowed outside you are rejected.
    I have had cats for many years. The last one passed on at 18 years of age and he ( … oops it) spent virtually every night happily roaming outside.
    The Humane Society has no one to blame but themselves.

  26. Biff – I got the sarcasm, but in the interest of veracity, the average day is getting LONGER, due to tidal friction. Every century, the day gets about 2 milliseconds longer.
    This difference between solar time and clock time (for simplicity) accumulates over the course of time 🙂 This is why leap seconds are regularly added to our clocks (to “reset” our clocks so that they are in “agreement” with solar time). Two leap seconds are added roughly every three years.

    Your post concerns me. I am a long time contributor to the Humane Society. Not Toronto’s, but what if other cities’ HS’s are also as you describe? I also contribute to other privately operated shelters that appear to be doing a good job. I do this because, unlike so many human unfortunates, these poor beasts truly are the victims of someone else’s bad decisions.
    If THS is as bad as you say, then the shelter animals may not be getting the benefit of all the donations made for them, and may be being used to further some other political agenda. From the sound of Globe article, it would not be an agenda with which I am comfortable.
    I would like to be re-assured that my contributions are being used for their intended purpose. I guess I will need to ask some questions locally.

    BTW, in regards to the article by the Greek, I somehow doubt that people are flocking to micro breweries in not any frikkin’ carbon feetprints but the same reason I prefer local fare: taste! The big brewery giants in north America are only interested in making everything the same, sort of like MacDonald’s for beer : may taste boring but at least it is conistant from coast to coast.
    Looks like someone left the editorial license in the photocopier.

    on that note, at a more local HS an aquaitence was trying to adopt a cat, when asked the what for, he answered “as a barn cat to keep the mouse population under control”. He was rejected because the cat in question was “not a working pussy”!!!!!
    this says much about those working in that field
    I care about animals, but would never contribute to an HS>

  37. There is no end to list of woes “caused by AGW” (/sarc ON, albertagirl!). A week or so ago Rush Limbaugh had a list on his website that summarized over 600 supposed crises caused by AGW… what a hoot!
    Why not just demand that the kitties pay no heed to Daylight Savings Time? Problem solved!
    As for the 2nd link, I was enjoying the lecture note and the sketches (ie, a motorcycle depicting the feline estrus cycle), and had just scrolled down to the drawing that detailed “insufficient v@ginal stimulation” when my wife looked over my shoulder and asked what in HELL I was reading.
    When I said it was related to global warming, her first response was to call BS…
