  1. Good evening ladies & gentlemen, welcome to SDA Late Nite Radio. I was planning to keep the best Christmas tracks I’ve found ’till Christmas Eve, but then I was thinking about that this morning and I realized that many people may not have the chance to listen to this channel then.

    WOW … I read a good portion of the Senate report , there is enough solid information there to do an article a day for the next year exposing the baseless claims of the global warming crowd.
    Maybe it is possible for the truth to come out after all ….here’s hoping……

    Global warming stopped? Surely not. What heresy is this? Haven’t we been told that the science of global warming is settled beyond doubt and that all that’s left to the so-called sceptics is the odd errant glacier that refuses to melt?
    Aren’t we told that if we don’t act now rising temperatures will render most of the surface of the Earth uninhabitable within our lifetimes? But as we digest these apocalyptic comments, read the recent IPCC’s Synthesis report that says climate change could become irreversible. Witness the drama at Bali as news emerges that something is not quite right in the global warming camp.
    With only few days remaining in 2007, the indications are the global temperature for this year is the same as that for 2006 – there has been no warming over the 12 months.
    But is this just a blip in the ever upward trend you may ask? No.
    The fact is that the global temperature of 2007 is statistically the same as 2006 as well as every year since 2001. Global warming has, temporarily or permanently, ceased. …-

    It’s up to you to interpret, but to my eyes, M. Bastiat is suggesting that part and parcel of democracy is the right – if not the duty or obligation – to question and criticize the laws passed under a democratic system. The form in which to do so is more a question of etiquette than of politics. (I need hardly spell out the difference between criticizing and breaking – at least, I hope I don’t need to.)

    News from Norway
    Norway’s emission of greenhouse gases increased by nine percent from 1990-2003 and the nation is not on course to meet the environmental obligations laid out by the Kyoto agreement.
    The new figures stem from the United Nations climate convention and were presented by Statistics Norway (SSB) on Wednesday.
    Emission increases continued in 2004 with Norway discharging 11 percent more greenhouse gases compared to 1990 levels. The Kyoto agreement demands that countries reduce their emission levels by 2008-2012.
    Norway’s increase is mainly due to a 77 percent increase in emission from the oil and gas sector, and pollution from road traffic, up 34 percent in this period.
    Sweden is the only Nordic nation to manage an emission reduction in the period 1990-2003, and based on 2003 figures, the UK, France, Greece and some Eastern European nations are on course to meet Kyoto requirements.

    The thing that gets me, is that the pro-AGW side can get away with saying anything and never be held accountable.
    Here he is, holding up Norway as a stellar example of an oil producing country that is doing great with CO2 control, when the exact opposite is true. They’re doing worse than Canada and the USA.

    It sums up the blind invasive statism that the left espouse and in so much as the truth of this statement is self evident in leftist politics, the one foible they play to is human weakness.
    The cry of our age from a plethora of affluent “needy” is:
    “what about my needs”…a me-first to the public trough mentality has made a once free and independent democratic society into the hegemonic statist nightmare we are in today.

  32. HMCS Toronto just returned to Halifax the other day after five months at sea completing the Canadian Navy’s first circumnavigation of the African continent as part of NATO Standing NATO Maritime Group 1.
    I interviewed the XO, LCdr Angus Topshee, about the voyage, and have posted about it at The Torch. It was a hell of a cruise: chasing smugglers, boarding dicey ships, engaging in ad hoc diplomacy in the Gulf of Guinea, exercising with the South African navy, and rescuing Yemeni soldiers from an erupting volcano.     (CNSNews.com) – Alongside a resolution adopted by the U.N. General Assembly this week calling for a moratorium on the death penalty, the world body passed a raft of other human rights-related motions. One of them, introduced by Islamic nations, focuses on combating the “defamation of religions.”
    Resolutions on the human rights situation in North Korea and Iran also passed, although dozens of countries — including human rights violators Cuba, Sudan, Syria and Zimbabwe — voted against the motions.
    An annual resolution on “the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination” also passed by an overwhelming margin, with only the United States, Israel, and three small Pacific island nations voting “no.” There were four abstentions.
    The motion on defamation of religions has been a priority for the 57-nation Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) since 9/11. It took on new impetus following a Danish newspaper’s publication in 2005 of cartoons satirizing Mohammed.
    Introduced by Pakistan on behalf of the OIC, it passed on Tuesday by a 108-51 margin, with 25 abstentions. As with many of the other votes, the U.S. lined up with democracies in Europe, Asia and elsewhere against developing nations, including repressive regimes.
    Although the resolution refers to defamation of “religions,” Islam is the only religion named in the text, which also takes a swipe at counter-terrorism security measures.
    It expresses alarm about “discrimination” and “laws that stigmatize groups of people belonging to certain religions and faiths under a variety of pretexts relating to security and illegal immigration.”
    Muslim minorities are subjected to “ethnic and religious profiling … in the aftermath of the tragic events of 11 September 2001,” it says.
    The resolution decries “the negative projection of Islam in the media” and voices “deep concern that Islam is frequently and wrongly associated with human rights violations and terrorism.”
    OIC secretary-general Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu earlier this month addressed an international conference on “Islamophobia,” held in Turkey, and told the gathering that freedom of expression was being used as a cover in the West to promote anti-Islam sentiment.
    The OIC soon will release its first-ever annual report on “Islamophobia.”

    The camel’s nose under the UN human rights tent is the concept of “racism and xenophobia” as a violation of human rights. Such logic is fundamentally flawed — Nigerian Christians are, after all, the same race and nationality as the Muslims who burn their churches, but any mention or criticism of such an issue will be forbidden under the UN’s guidelines.
    Simply collecting and publishing data on atrocities committed in the name of Islam will become “hate speech” once the would-be despots at the UN and the EU have their way.
    A bomb explosion in Varanasi that kills hundreds of Hindus will be a “tragedy”.
    Any newspaper report stating that Muslims are claiming responsibility for the deed will be a crime.
    Wake up! It’s a brave new world out there.

I was taking the temperature of the BBC website and I’m scannimg the science/nature/sky is falling section and something seemed wrong….at 12:34 ast there is not a hint or mention of global warming. The word greenhouse is visible but it is in reference to Mars and a new theory how Mars warmed enough to have oceans in the past.
    The polar bear in the lower right corner is there but he doesn’t point you to the pages that tell you all you need to know about global warming anymore. What’s up?

  47. Thanks, cal2 and Wl Mc. I needed that after last night watching the Harper interview on CBC. What I found disturbing was Harper saying that he’ll let the inquiry decision rest on the report from the Johnston. I’m disturbed that he may let this fall by the wayside. As a taxpaying Canadian for forty years I don’t think that this line of thought is good enough! I want some answers to the HRDC wastage, the gun registry boondoggle, the Shawninigate mortgage, the Radwanski deal, the immigration/ Sgro fiasco, the Kyoto/Global warming scam, etc., etc., etc! The Liberals made a BIG deal about Mulroney in the HoC for a measly $3K well I want to know about the BILLIONS of dollars that have been squandered under the Liberals! Harper owes it to Canadians to make sure that this rock we’re peering under is turned over and exposed to the light of day. If he doesn’t get a full blown inquiry under way before the opposition parties force an election then this country is, as has often been commented on here, a ‘BANANA’ republic. If the 30% of the partisan left that have always voted Liberal are not shown the true face of the Liberal party then it may be time to raise the flag of insurrection in Western Canada. I’ve had it up to my chin with what passes for Canada today, this country and all Canadians have been deluded by a bunch of shysters over the better part of the last fifty years, Harper has a chance that wont be repeated to clean house and give us hope of a better future.

  48. As the lack of global warming becomes more evident, the Climate Changers will morph into some other area of fear and guilt. Not sure how much stupider it can get.
    The magnitude of their Global Warming fear and guilt campaign has served to alert a lot more of the people on the planet to the elaborate scamming perpetrated upon us by our dear leaders.
    If anything, we will be more willing to speak up sooner than we are doing this time. We will all be more skeptical.
    Remember … Clever Climate Change Politics (CCCP) is exactly the same as the system the Soviet Union used for about seventy five years. It failed because people like to be free and as Zappa said, “people like to own stuff”.
    The global warming, oceans are arising gang will quiet down over the next year, but they won’t like it much and won’t admit they were wrong. Their anger and frustration will manifest itself somewhere else and you can count on it.
    It will take some time to reverse the money flow in their direction. Let us all complain to our governments as much the Lefties do about the money and maybe we can help our economies by trashing the carbon credit scam.
    Now brothers and sisters, let us pray that Stephen Harper gets his majority.

    Merry Christmas! If that offends you heres hoping you don’t live in a country where it’s the name of a national holiday like Canada. And if you do live somewhere where it’s a national holiday and you don’t like it feel free to move to Zimbabwe where socialism is allowed.
    Been a good year “politically” Trudeau won worst Canadian and that’s hard to top, ever.

    Well finally. One of Ezra’s biggest mistakes was in dictating to his blog authors that they no longer had the right to delete offensive comments. When you own property, and allow the graffiti artists full reign, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that both the attractiveness and value might fall as a result.
