OVERWORKED nurses have been ordered to stop all medical work five times every day to move Muslim patients’ beds so they face towards Mecca.
The lengthy procedure, which also includes providing fresh bathing water, is creating turmoil among overstretched staff on bustling NHS wards.
But despite the havoc, Mid- Yorkshire NHS Trust says the rule must be instigated whenever possible to ensure Muslim patients have “a more comfortable stay in hospital”.
And a taxpayer-funded training programme for several hundred hospital staff has begun to ensure that all are familiar with the workings of the Muslim faith.

There appears to be nothing reasoned or sane about Islam as it is presenting itself to the world today.
They should stay away from our western democracies if they expect us to accommodate their religious rituals in all settings from work to schools to hospitals.
They Have to be read the rules BEFORE they make application or are sworn in as Canadian citizens. They have to be told we are NOT a Muslim country, their religion cannot expect any special compensation above all others.
We are first a Judeo-Christian based democracy, our laws and Calendar reflect that fact. They can practice their Islamisms on their own time and in their own places freely as we all do as Canadians.
It’s truly tiresome and sickening to have to bend over and change our customs for people who have
chosen to come here. It’s becoming more apparent too many are coming here with agendas, opposing rather than integrating and contributing to our country.
The Brits are getting exactly what they deserve. Pretty soon they will have nothing of their own at all.

Afterthought: “moderate” Muslims. I believe many observers are equating moderate to non-violent and thereby misuderstand that wanting to replace western representative democracy with sharia law via this unrelenting civilizational/cultural/litigation jihad is NOT MODERATE even if done with zero violence.
If I’m not mistaken, there was a bit of a schism in the jihadi ranks vis a vis 9/11 with the “moderates” excoriating violence not qua violence but as potentially counter-productive, i.e., risking waking the sleeping infidel.

They are doing that right now in Canada and the U.S. – who are we kidding. Ten percent of Canadians are German and seventeen percent of Americans are German. If one keeps up with what is going on in Europe and the European Union, it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to think that maybe they’ll be shooting for a third time lucky scenario in our future.
Let’s not forget Muslims tried to get Sharia option into family law in Ontario, and apparently, Muslims in England tried to get a Muslim only zone in a one mile radius and demanded Sharia Law – sometimes I think we are all asleep. Now are these Muslims considered moderate or Islamic extremists. Muslims have no intention of assimulating into western culture, but quite the reverse – we are expected to assimulate into their culture….or should I say Islam.

You know, I realy do not see a problem here. if the health care system is anything like Canadas, “stretched too the limit” taking up 40+ of our tax dollars. Say no. NO means NO. I agree with DaninVan, this sort of arrangement should be left to outside volunteers. Although this is only one incident in a larger pattern, it seems to me that the issue is not as much about these groups constantly pushing the envelope, or even about the fact that we’re constantly letting them. Rather, I think that a significant chunk of these incidents could be resolved if we just used a little common sense.
(In other words, ‘trained nurses turning beds five times a day is a waste of their expertise and time’ = ‘common sense’)

It’s not a race but it is strongly associated with certain races, obviously. Taking someone’s argument to an absurd level doesn’t always mean their original point isn’t valid.
The point is that saying muslims should be thrown out of windows or injected with lethal chemicals simply because Tony Blair made a decision about what reasonable accomodation should look like (a decision which I myself disagree with) is despicable and hate-fuelled.
One thing you can say about the “left” (do people still use terms like this? apparently…), as incompetent as many of their views are, is they generally tend to be people who genuinely want the best for others — as skewed as their methods often may be.

Anon; I don’t consider myself a racist. I do believe that if you want to pray to your God, “in whatever religion that you worship” that is your right. This is what the so called Demacratic Society has fought for in 2 major world conflicts. I do not call these conflicts now or in the past major world wars. When you are in the hospital and recieving health care that is payed for by the people. Please do not cry out because the people that work there don’t have time to take their bed or chair or whatever they are using at the time and turn it towards the EAST. So it seems to me if they want to face EAST and worship thier GOD. Please get your family or friends to take the time out of there day and help you out. Leave the medical staff to thier jobs to care for other important things and save people in the HOSPITAL. They might even be able to work on the EMERGINCY room people, instead of letting them get worse, “BECAUSE they are busy turning said bed or chair to face EAST. And British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, for example, has declared he intends to make London the Islamic finance capital of the world. His government intends to issue its own sukuk (or **Shariah-compliant** bonds) sometime next year.
The trouble is that, having embraced one aspect of Shariah, it will be vastly more difficult, if not as a practical matter, impossible, to deny Islamist activists their demands to accommodate other aspects.
