The Face Of The Feminist Media Left

Complete with egg;

WHOOPI GOLDBERG: Now in the Sudan, there’s a British teacher who is possibly going to be stoned or lashed.
JOY BEHAR: A woman.
GOLDBERG: A woman, yeah. Because, in her class they had some teddy bears and she, one of the kids wanted to name his kid- his teddy bear Muhammad and she said “fine.” Apparently, other children complained to their parents, which is how it ended up in the hands of the religious leaders, and the religious leaders are very very upset. Now, do you think that they’re-
GLORIA ESTEFAN: They arrested her.
GOLDBERG: Yeah, they arrested her. It is a huge thing.
BEHAR: There are a lot of Muhammads, though, in that part of the world.
GOLDBERG: Yes, but they’re people, and not animals.
BEHAR: Right, but this isn’t even an animal. This is a stuffed toy.
GOLDBERG: Yes, it’s a stuffed toy.
SHERRI SHEPHERD: I think it’s like it’s sacrilegious to name a stuffed toy Muhammad. But you know, you would think that with her being in Sudan, she would know the rules and customs. Because I know I performed stand up in Turkey, and they gave me a big thick packet on the customs, and what you could and could not do, and how you would offend people. So I’m surprised that she didn’t know it might be offensive.
GOLDBERG: Yeah, because you’d think if you’re going overseas, I mean, we had this discussion yesterday about people coming to America and learning the customs and knowing what is cool, and what isn’t cool. But I find that maybe we are not- and I say we just as European and American, we’re not as anxious to learn the customs before we go places. It’s just one of the reasons we’re called the ugly Americans.

By extension, one can only assume Ms. Goldberg’s culturally relativist “View” extends as generously to the Sudan’s widespread practice of slavery.

  1. maybe Whoopi doesnt relate to slavery, because like Obama, she might not be regarded as a real negro or african american.

  2. Oh, jeez, the utter and total ignorance of both of them, is…well, it’s disgusting.
They ignore, totally ignore, the sentence of ‘stoning or lashing’. It’s not even in the tiny hollows of their minds. Nope. The only thing that they focus on is that it’s her fault because she upset THEM, because she didn’t know THEIR customs.
Hey, when THEY come over here, and say that we shouldn’t have piggy banks because it upsets THEM – do we tell them to ‘cool it; you’d better learn our customs’?
When THEY come over here, and inform us that if they are driving the taxi, we can’t transport our liquor purchases, because it offends THEM – do we tell them to ‘cool it, you’d better learn our customs’?
Do we tell them to learn our customs? Do we? Or do we instead, fall all over ourselves apologizing to THEM, because we actually do have customs here. And have lived with them for centuries.
No. Instead, these ladies of the MSM tell us that WE are the ones at fault.
What about the Directors of the School quietly telling the teacher, that even though the child named the bear after HIMSELF, it wasn’t a good idea.
Think. It was the child who names the bear. Hmm. Doesn’t he know that he’s not supposed to do that? Shouldn’t the school authorities scream ‘Death to the Child’?
By the way, apparently the real complainer was a contract teacher who was not rehired; she was angry at the school. Many parents came forward in support of the teacher. And, many Muslims in England, in the US, in Canada, did the same. Of course, the rabid ones will always use any excuse to scream Death To The Infidel…As they did.
And, did any feminist groups say a word? A whisper? A squeak?
I wonder, if and how much, money was paid as a bribe to the Sudanese govt to grant a pardon. Was it simply the case that it was made clear to them that they were making fools of themselves in the modern world? Or was it the usual case of Money Exchanges?
As for Whoopi and Behar, two stupid, ignorant women.

  3. Maybe you have to be over-the-top stupid to be a co-host of The View. They have a pretty good track record of hiring stupid people co-host that program. Got to wonder what the average IQ is of the people who watch The View.

  4. and I say we just as European and American, we’re not as anxious to learn the customs before we go places. — Whoopi Goldberg
And those covered Muslim women that come here and their husband who refuse to let them out of the house, did they learn our customs?
Liberals are so stupid, words escape me.

  5. I wonder where it says in the “cultural handbook for Infidels” that it’s a sacrilege to name Teddy Bear Mohammed. Or should she have known this “custom” already? Heck, the kids obviously didn’t know. Why are feminist types like the View crowd so eager to rationalize this outrageous behaviour. Relatively speaking, if someone walked into a church with their hat on, I guess lashes would be appropriate, right ladies? Not!!

  6. I don’t understand the left. The propagate victimhood, then blame the victim. And yet they think SHOOTING is a weird sport? Sheesh.
    RG

  7. How much money do these girls get paid for their 13 yr old conversation? (And, I apologize to any 13-yr-olds reading this as it shows you have more brains than this panel.)
I really like this bit: “I performed stand up in Turkey, and they gave me a big thick packet on the customs, and what you could and could not do, and how you would offend people.”
Do you Canada and the U.S. could start handing out these packets?? Anytime soon? And who would scream the loudest if our governments did??
    God, aren’t they pathetic.

  8. You think these feminazi’s are whacked, you should go read babble, and see what our very own Canadian feminazi’s take is on it. You want a good puking session, hook up to babble, and be ashamed that those stupid whining cows are the same gender as you.

  9. “Relatively speaking, if someone walked into a church with their hat on, I guess lashes would be appropriate, right ladies? Not!!”
Ok, the Legion I can understand but churches?! I was always under the impression women DID cover their heads in church, with a scarf or whatever?
Being of the MOT persuasion you can understand my confusion…

  10. …if you walk into a legion with your hat on, the punishment is that you have to buy everyone in the legion a beer.
I keep looking for the hat guys, hoping to catch one.

  11. One can’t help but wonder how Sherri Shepherd’s stand-up routine was received in Turkey.
    Presented to whom?
    In what language?
“A camel went into a hookah parlour. The proprietor asked,’How come the long face?'”

  12. Thanks for this Kate.It took me 15 minutes to stop laughing.Didn’t know the customs? The teacher spent 15 YEARS there.Wonder how Whoopie would feel about being a nubian slave? Wonder how the rest of them would feel about being dead for wearing their whore outfits?
Mind you. What does it say about us that we allowed this pseudo-movement of fembots to go so far?

  13. That’s a fine example of people not in touch with the real world and sure as hell are the last people to be spouting off about current affairs or politics. They are the types the Liberal Left love to put up front for comments, it’s all about flash and dash, no substance in their world.
Whether they’re as stupid as they appear or simply ignorant is up for debate.

  14. Yes, bone headed, feminist hypocrites: they and their politically correct fellow travellers are everywhere, e.g., I was in a Canadian school today which had big displays of Diwali, Eid, and a Menorah. Yes, there was a Christmas tree and Santa, both of which I love. However, neither has the religious significance the other three do. And which group of the four would be the one that built the West and made it a place of refuge and freedom for the other three? (Of course, the Jews are part of the foundation of the West.)
I can’t imagine Whoopi being the least bit “uncool” about the huge disparity here and the fact that, to use her words to blame Westerners who travel to other parts of the world, immigrants to the West “are not . . . anxious to learn the customs before [they] go places”.
With the craziness of the left in full flight and lionized in our decrepit MSM, it’s sometimes hard not to abandon the Christian virtue of hope. (The subject, BTW, of Pope Benedict’s new encyclical.)
    Kyrie eleison.

  15. By extension, one can only assume Ms. Goldberg’s culturally relativist “View” extends as generously to the Sudan’s widespread practice of slavery.
Oh Kate, forgot the practice of genital mutilation. Perhaps we can get comfortable with that too !

  16. Too bad these caustic fembos weren’t as sensitive to western culture and religious ways and stop trashing their own nation/culture.
What do you call a sanctimonious nihilist with a microphone?
    A) A stand up “comic”
    B) A women’s “issue” activist
    C) A Sharia apologist
    D) All the above

  17. I wonder what these View fools think of Rosa Parks. Mrs. Parks knowingly broke the law; purposely and deliberately broke the law. Somehow, I don’t think these View fools would chastise Rosa Parks for not following Alabama customs and laws in 1955.

  18. I saw Whoopi on Politically Incorrect With Bill Maher years ago, she was discussing a trip she had taken to East Germany in the early 80’s.
Maher asked her if the people there were happy under communist rule, she said yeah, they seemed to be, they had never known any other kind of life.
One of the other guests asked if that same logic would have applied to the slaves picking cotton.
Then the strangest thing happened; Whoopi shut the hell up.

  19. Just to expand on Kate’s point about the Sudanese slave trade ( Which the Whoopster seems to remain blissfully tolerant of), the International criminal court has a warrant out for the arrest of Sudan’s “minster of humanitarian affairs” for his hand in the kidnapping and slavery of some 11,000 children and 8000 women who were pressed into servitude and sex slavery markets.
So, Teddy bear beheadings is just the tip of the rotten festering cess pool this country has become at the hands of 7th century Muzzie degenerates.

  20. I think you guys are missing the point. I mean, I visited the middle east and there are some very natural mannerisms that Westerners have that are culturally insensitive. One such example is showing the bottom of your foot to someone by crossing your legs when you sit in a chair. I don’t find it offensive, but they do. I wouldn’t be arrested or anything for doing that in Jordan or Egypt, but it would look bad on me and who I am representing: Canadians. My actions in the mid-east will shape the way that some of them might view ALL Canadians. And we do the same when foreigners come to visit Canada, our experience with them shapes, in one way or another, our world view and our opinion of their cultural/ethnic grouping.
The woman who named the bear Muhammed was an idiot for doing so. Should she be put to death or imprisoned? Absolutely not! Is it okay that Sudan has those kind of extreme laws? No way! However, she was on their turf and if you’re going to interacting with people there everyday, you ought to know the cultural ins and outs.
This is not like Rosa Parks. The woman who named the bear Muhammed did so out of ignorance, Parks was making a political statement. This British woman was just walking blind in a society which she SHOULD have head her head above water. Sudan isn’t Italy or even a MODERATE Arab nation like Jordan or the UAE.
To use Parks as an example is to suggest that Westerners should go over to the mid-east or Islamic nations and disrespect their laws and cultures in an effort to make them more like our own.
I’m not going to be the first one to do that. Maybe you people would like to be the first ones on board a plan to Egypt where you’ll show the bottoms of your feet to everyone. Will I be surprised if you get into trouble? Nope. Should you get in trouble in the first place? Well, what ever happened to national sovereignty?

  21. You know it is creepy that the feminist would defend such a sickening oppressive cult. No doubt in my mind they would be the first in line to embrace islam, if forced to. Not just because under their bravado they are cowards, but because they know we would fight for them. That pisses me off most, their disregard for others, who may not agree with their idealogy, but who would defend those weak useless bitches.

  22. Why would Whoopi be concerned about slavery in Sudan. After all, it’s Arabic Moslems enslaving Black Christians or at least the one’s they don’t kill. You see, slavery is only SLAVERY if it’s whites enslaving blacks. It seems people of color kinda get a pass.

  23. GOLDBERG — in that part of the world, people are animals — or there is no difference…Get used to it ok !

  24. The Sudanese learned something a long time ago.
“the Mahdi had Gordon’s head put on a spike after his forces took Khartoum at the end of January, 1885. ….. It wasn’t until 1898 that the Brits were ready to show Allah’s boys what an Anglican can do when he’s had a little time to rehearse. So on September 2, 1898…: 60,000 Islamists amassed all in one place, facing automatic weapons and massed artillery….. maybe half had firearms, mostly old flintlocks mixed with what they’d looted from Gordon’s men. The rest were carrying spears. The battle turned into a sort of geometry exercise, with Brit field officers mainly trying to arrange the Maxims’ fields of fire the way you’d set up sprinklers to get maximum coverage of a football field.
At the end of the day, somewhere between 15,000 and 20,000 Mahdists were dead vs. a total British KIA of 48.
If you want to know why insurgents today use terrorism instead of “fair fight” stuff, that’s why. They tried it, and it didn’t work out all that well.”

  25. “GOLDBERG — in that part of the world, people are animals — or there is no difference…Get used to it ok !”
Yeah triple whammy there in Sudan for the Whoopster..Jewish name, atheist infidel, unrepentant insubordinate female…definite slave material or for the sword.
I thought the clerics teach that Jews could be either pigs or monkeys but you can’t have a stuffed toy called Muhammed….and infidels haven’t the right to life, but they mist be given a chance to covert? Hmmmmm
Psssst: I thinks these guys are making this crap up as they go…ya know kinda ad-libbing the ol’ Koran. I mean when you take the role of god;s profit’s mouth piece ya gotta lot of leway to make yer own rules up 😉

  26. RCI – the woman did NOT name the teddy bear; the children wanted to name it after the most popular boy in the class, who happened to be name “Mohammed”. She went along with them. And, apparently, a school administrator complained about the “outrage”; and the violent fools who were screaming for her death were government workers. So, like most things in Muslim countries, the whole thing was staged.
And, RCI, when you are in the ME, what do you do with your dirty, evil left hand. Would you touch a Muslim with your left hand? Would sit with your left hand against one of your Muslim superiors?
And using Parks as an example says nothing abut Sudan, or any other country. I used it to point out the hypocrisy of the View fools. I am sorry it was over your head; but please read a little more closely, and perhaps you will understand what is written.
BTW, what about Muslims respecting Western countries and THEIR “national sovereignty” when they come to the West? As you can PLAINLY see, Muslims do NOT respect any country’s national sovereignty; on the contrary, many Muslims expect THEIR customs to respected and “celebrated”.

  27. If I put my brain in a jar and get stuck in the corner of a round room, can I be on the View also?

  28. I want to use the “C” word to describe these idiots but I don’t want to be banned from this site.

  29. I’ve never seen the program ‘The View’. I’m not even sure where to find it. Is it on the Comedy Channel?

  30. [quote]GOLDBERG: Yeah, because you’d think if you’re going overseas, I mean, we had this discussion yesterday about people coming to America and learning the customs and knowing what is cool, and what isn’t cool. I hate to defend the “VIEW” but what she said is a FACT. The State Department does provide a Packet on the comflicting Customs/Laws that should be avoided or you become “The Ugly American”
You are reading a way…. way to much into an innocent conversation.
BTW: They have a packet on Canada.. that nobody reads.

  31. @RCI, 5.33 “I think you guys are missing the point….there are some very natural mannerisms that Westerners have that are culturally insensitive.”
But, ipso facto, my culture is superior to their culture. Consider a more appropriate response to the howling dogs baying for the blood of an innocent, as in the following historical parallel…
“A British district officer, coming upon a scene of suttee, was told by the locals that in Hindu culture it was the custom to cremate a widow on her husband’s funeral pyre. He replied that in British culture it was the custom to hang chaps who did that sort of thing.”
    D*mn straight.

  32. I love to trash talk Islam as much as anyone but this case was not about Islam. Britain insulted the Sudanese leadership and this was the Sudanese leader’s way of appearing magnanimous. The Islamic rent-a-mob were just patsies in this whole affair.
As for Whoopi and her kind, the less said the better.

  33. A recent survey in Canada asked the following question:
Are there too many foreigners in this country now ?
    Answer:
    18% said: YES
    82% said: معهد الأمن

  34. The State Department.. my mistake in not been clear. “THE US STATE DEPARTMENT” provides the information packet.
and I have no comment on the other “Substance”

  35. Well no doubt now it will be posted at all internationl airports that whatever you do, don’t call a teddy bear mohammed.
Who in the name of allah, would have known that the muslims were that insane?
They make the rules up as they go along. A fatwa death wish list that would reach to the moon. They are barbaric idiots.

  36. Great post, Kate. Puts some focus on the ignorance (including my own) of supposedly learned people that care about human rights. This isn’t about a justified response to intolerance. It’s about keeping enough paint in the can to white wash away the red blemishes that keep on bleeding through the walls the media builds around the truth.

  37. Wow!! No wonder Rosie fit so well on that show. That these feminists, who would claim to ‘stand up for women’ would take this situation and spin it into an ‘Ugly American’ statement is really scary. What is even scarier is that they have a cult-like following that hangs on their every word.

  38. Even if it was found to be offensive to Muslims to name a teddy bear Mohammed, would the purported punishment still fit the offence. Punishment is suppose to fit the so-called crime, and the Muslims’ reaction to the British teacher allowing a teddy bear to be named Mohammed was ‘insanity at its finest,’ and it doesn’t matter if the British teacher should have known better or not.
Muslims may hold Mohammed in high esteem, but I’m not going to, and the only reason any non-Muslim would tolerate this nonsense is because they’d fear the nutjobs lopping off their bloody heads. Fear is a great motivator, and it is Muslim nutjobs’ greatest weapon…..and they know it.

  39. We still have the tech advantage but are losing the propaganda war.
“the tabloids published Gordon’s dispatches from besieged Khartoum, … this uppity bastard was actually stage-managing his own martyrdom in the London press, …..Gordon could send his stories because the British gunboats controlled the Nile…..Gordon’s carefully worded stories of his heroic last stand were hitting the pavement in England, setting the mob howling for a relief expedition .. … For the Brit public Gordon’s death was like Custer’s last stand and 9/11 rolled into one. The papers were howling for a revenge …..”
    – The War Nerd

  40. “I think you guys are missing the point. I mean, I visited the middle east and there are some very natural mannerisms that Westerners have that are culturally insensitive.”
Like, you mean, the time I was on an Air France plane returning from a Battlefield and Cemetery Tour and, like, sat beside two Muslims who were fed before me, so their plates wouldn’t touch my plate – like, or what? Like, their food was no different than the choice of 2 meals we were all given, so I was, like, offended. But, like, I smiled my Canadian best, and said, like, Bon Appetit.
    Is that what you mean??

  41. It an unspeakable outrage and an abomination that the Sudanese should punish an englishwoman for allowing a bunch of 7 and 8 year-olds in her class to name a teddy bear after the prophet.
What the hell are these madmen on about!
Obviously, its the children who should be decapitated. They are the real culprits.

  42. Ms. Shppard’s comments sound dangerously close to the ‘she should have known she was going to get raped, going out dressed like that’ style of thought, no?

  43. Stan: Absolutely perfectly said. Kate, you should add this to the post:
“I saw Whoopi on Politically Incorrect With Bill Maher years ago, she was discussing a trip she had taken to East Germany in the early 80’s.
Maher asked her if the people there were happy under communist rule, she said yeah, they seemed to be, they had never known any other kind of life.
One of the other guests asked if that same logic would have applied to the slaves picking cotton.
Then the strangest thing happened; Whoopi shut the hell up.”
    amazing!

  44. Ask Whoopi how she feels about the Sudanese fixing a woman’s genitals without anesthetic?
    A charming bunch.

  45. My neighbor has got a big hog barn with those damn pigs running wild all over. Guess what I’ve named the buggers that end up in my yard? But they are more fun to watch and twice as smart as those hogs on the view.
