  1. Re: Pence Amendment, Rep. Nita Lowey (D-NY), the chairwoman of the foreign operations appropriations subcommittee, comments:
“I am prepared to accept this amendment. It is my understanding that it reiterates the restrictions on direct aid to the P.A. that are already in current law that are clearly included in this bill. I certainly expect the administration to abide by these restrictions, and I thank the gentleman for his amendment. In fact, I am wondering why the gentleman is offering the amendment if it is already included in the bill.
    Good question.

  3. Watching the news last night regarding the big football (soccer) events taking place it’s not hard to identify why things just plain don’t work too well in this country. We saw clip after clip of joyous fans enthusiastically cheering for their favourites …… Italy, Brazil, Poland etc etc. Every tinhorn and backwater country except Canada. I suppose we should ask ourselves why they wouldn’t do so since we pay big bucks in taxes for the multi-culti crap that encourages them to embrace anything which may not be Canadian. I also suppose it’s too much to ask why they even came to Canada or have adopted the attitudes their parents/grandparents brought with them from the Old Country. I won’t say Go Home! That’s both too easy and too late.
Thank you Pearson, Trudeau, Mulroney and Chretien for engendering such strong feelings of immigrants and their offspring toward Canada.

“The tankers drove off FOB Warhorse, and only a few miles later, we arrived at the outskirts of the abandoned village.”
“We walked into the palm groves nearby. There was a terrible stench. The heat and the vegetation reminded me of the Killing Fields in Cambodia where I had visited shortly before the most recent trip to Iraq.”
“There were bodies of men, women and children. Al Qaeda slaughters families everywhere: as these graves were being unearthed, more bombs were found in London.”
“While that was happening elsewhere in Baqubah, we stood around the stinking graves of people who had gotten a close-up view of al Qaeda-style justice. The villagers’ bodies were rotting in the heat before us.
“The blade of the shovel struck more fingers, and the Iraqi soldiers stopped and pointed to the fingers so I could film them. But I had seen enough and pulled back into the palm groves.” …-

  7. First of all, Happy Birthday, Canada!
Secondly, as a great fan of women, bikinis, and all in a good way, I think the string bikinis in toddler sizes is just too disgusting to believe. What really scares me is that it is not the pedophile (typically a male) that are driving this market but mothers (almost always female) that are buying these things for their children. Are they really that stupid? This crap would not stay on the market unless there was a demand for them, simple economic forces dictate that. But if they are indeed selling then what is wrong with today’s parents. This is not the teenager buying a midriff exposing top just to give her dad a heart attack but moms. WTF is going on, Pardon my language.

Alberta businesses start trading carbon credits
EDMONTON – Alberta’s carbon emitting industries can start trading for carbon credits today, even though there’s no registry established yet to register the trades and no finalized protocols for them, says Alberta Environment.
The clock starts ticking today on Alberta’s 100 heaviest emitters of carbon dioxide to reduce their emissions, but they don’t have to make those reductions until Dec. 31, said Alberta Environment spokeswoman Kim McLeod.
Companies can, however, make deals for emission credits based on the draft protocols posted on the Alberta Climate Change website and they can register their transactions when a privately-operated registry begins later, she said.
“The registry doesn’t have to be in place for them to start doing this work,” McLeod said. …-

  11. This is a bad omen…the National Post, probably the only really semi-conservative paper in Canada will be discontinuing the paper version delivery to my mid-sized city. I suspect they are hurting for money, if they can’t manage to deliver to us. They expect me to carry my laptop around and read the e-version. Fat chance. I’ve cancelled my subscription, and am looking to get the G&M delivered, regretfully (Yes, I feel tainted).

  18. This is for Diomede, the goof, the jerk, the anal orifice. Next time you slag our troops, remember this ass wipe. It was not the poet that gave us freedom of speech, it was the soldier. Is was not the journalist that gave us freedom of the press, it was the soldier. I wish I could remember the rest as it is a good read. I really don’t know why I’m wasting key strokes on the likes of you as you’re not worthy of being a Canadian. You belong in some shit hole like Iran where you can nuzzle up to the locals and hope they don’t stick a blade between the fourth and fifth ribs.
Remember that it was the soldier that gives you the PRIVILEGE of being an asshole. It was the soldier that insures you enjoy your rights as a Canadian, even if YOU don’t deserve them.
I’ll bet you just about go catatonic on 11/11.

  20. Hey Olde Spice the troops that fought for our freedom of speech are not the troops in Afghanistan. The troops that fought for Canada were honorable unlike todays troops who are nothing but mercenaries. Don’t try and feed me that knee jerk response that they are fighting for Canada because they are not, they are fighting the war for Americans.
Now I’d hate for the efforts and sacrifices of the honorable troops from wars like WW2 to be wasted, so I think I will continue to exercise freedoms of opinion and expression. So take note Olde Spice, that in Canada we call it freedom of opinion and expression, while Americans call it freedom of speech.

  21. “The troops that fought for Canada were honorable unlike todays troops who are nothing but mercenaries.”
Why don’t you use your freedom of expression and say that to the troops face to face big boy.

  22. Is it just me or has the quality of the trolls gone down lately? No long drawn out oration using flawed logic, just over the top baiting. I’m so disappointed.
