The really interesting/hilarious side of this is that Volpe basically TIED with Ken Dryden, and actually ended with 30 MORE delegates than Scotty Brison. Scott Brison and Ken Dryden were absolutely humiliated in this exercise, and should be walking around today with paper bags over their faces as disguises. It made my day that Scott had such a bad day. Go Joe!

So if Volpe withdraws, he is rewarded by not having to pay the $20,000 fine levied against him. He also, then, doesn’t block any other candidate’s ascendency–unless, of course, he endorses them.
I think it’s reprehensible that he won’t have to pay the $20,000 fine if he withdraws from the leadership race. It’s not like the Librano$ can rewind the tape and say, “voila: no leadership aspirations, no wrongdoing, Joey. We’ll let ya go scott-free…”

I think it’s going to be great watching Joe Volpe go to Bob Rae, as has been projected by Liberal Blogger Jason Cherniak.
The sight of Rae receiving Volpe’s embrace (is a kiss or two too much to hope for?), surrounded by Ujjal Dosanjh, Buzz Hargrove and maybe even Dave Haggard will be too delicious to miss. I may have to break down and actually watch the Liberal Leadership Non-Race convention on TV after all just to catch this bit of character drama.

How many delegates did joe get. Apparently all delegates will be handed their first ballot already printed with selected person. So does that mean if any drop out, those delegates can’t vote first ballot. The question still is, who will be the delegates as each riding has to allot them to age, gender, youth, minority etc. So, if a riding split, x for iggy, y for Rae, how will they divide up. And what if one delegate fits into more than one category, as many will do. Come on joe, support iggy and see if he has the guts to say, no thank you. Did you hear Dion say on tv that iggy was calling him to throw his support to him. How many heard that and not the rest, it is a joke.
