I’m sorry to rain on everybody’s parade but I fear that the change in government we are hoping for may not take place. Layton has stated that he will not back a minority conservative government, because Harper does not espouse the views of a majority of Canadians. So if the conservatives receive the largest amount of seats in a three party system and yet don’t have a clearcut majority, Layton will align himself and the NDP with the Liberals under Martin. In this case the stench and bodies that are being uncovered at the moment will be reburied so deep that the next(and I’m going out on a limb here) honest government will need a excavator from the tar sands to uncover them in the future.
I heard pmpm say (in Victoria, I think) that his ships are built in Canada , his ‘head quarters’ is in Canada and his company (CSL) hires Canadians to work on his ships which he says is a Canadian Sucess story since ‘he’ (pmpm) built it from a scratch himeself. ALL LIES. Why isn’t the MSM all over him for that statement? Why? because MSM are Liberano creatures. That group is more disgusting than the big bag of snot himself.

I’ve never seen a country that demands a trilogy from Martin Scorcese more than Canada.
It’s interesting to watch the stages with which Canadian anti-Americanism is viewed down here.
At first we were stung. Then we began to dismiss Canadian opinion as we do French. And now we’re beginning to learn what an absolutely corrupt mess Canadian government represents.
Now when anti-American charges float south we’re beginning to see it like watching a 450 pound diabetic scream about other people’s blood sugar levels.
Canada needs to wake up and realize that “we’ve met the enemy and it is us.”
I agree Greg, although to be a true Scorcese film (or three) we will need some hit jobs, cement overshoes and a sex scandal or two turn up. Auditor Generals normally don’t do that kind of digging.

Then who knows what favors he did to be appointed ambassador to Denmark? Maybe he removed a stone from someone’s shoe. And since he’s a member of the same organized crime family as Vito Rizzuto, you have all of those hits on the very same people that you saw in the movie ‘Donny Brasco’. (And that’s about 3 mafia capos.) Furthermore, you have the drama of the Rizzuto hits being part of an internal power struggle for the leadership of the Bonanno crime family.

What’s worse I’ve been on the “Internet” since 92 via BBS and commandline chat, then in ’93 with Mosaic and I have a hard time distinguishing the newer meaning of “trolling” to the old one…so I would assume (excuse the pun) you meant the newer version…
The newest ship in CSL’s Great Lakes Fleet is the Pineglen launched as the Patterson II April 18,1985. Built by the now defunct(as far as I know, and I could be wrong) Colingwood Shipyard. The shipyards, owned by CSL, closed in 1986 I believe, due to financial difficulties( I guess PMPM is not that much of a financial whiz after all.) Every ship in the International Fleet that I researched, was built either in Japan or China. When the Colingwood Shipyards closed 800 people lost their jobs. When PMPM assumed control of CSL in the early eighties his first move was to take CSL international and he tried to move all operations outside of Canada. The President of CSL who replaced PMPM after he was elected to parliment in 1984, resigned in protest. So much for PMPM as the hero of Canadian Labour. Oh I’m sure the deck swabbies are all Canadians but I doubt if they make anywhere near the money that those laid off fitters, welders, machinists and mechanics made. Oh well I’m sure some of them probably moved to Alberta. We appreciate hard workers out here and they would have been more than welcome.

Guess what year that brochere might have been produced? There are some pretty nice ‘boats’ (ships) featured in the photographs. You can print your answer right here on sda if you know the answer. Hint: If you know when CSL was born; what was your point?
Can’t remember where I read it but Martin bank rolled the purchase of CSL through a friend. If I remember it was for a few million dollars and the operations had been mostly on the great lakes at that time.
Not liking what Haliburton does (after Cheney left and sold assetts) and it being illegal are two different things. One of the only other companies capable of doing the job is French. If it’s OUR money why the heck do we HAVE to give it to a French company?
As for ‘no bid’ contracts – happened all the time under Clinton but no one (on the Left) cared. Happens all the time now in the reconstruction of New Orleans (to expedite the reconstruction) but no one cares. It’s only when a company is perceived to be allied with the GOP or its goods and services help the war effort that the Left has a cow.
