Philadelphia Weekly, one of the city’s most venerable leftist “alternative” newsweeklies, has rocked the local journalism scene with its announcement that, starting next year, it will provide Philly readers with a different kind of alternative: it will change its editorial outlook from hard-liberal to conservative.
David, I have come to the conclusion from decades of observation that humanity has been moving towards a mass insanity. The last year has proven that observation and it seems to be increasing exponentially at this point in time. Will we survive, that is questionable?

Add greed and corruption by people who benefit from this as well as a destructive and corruptive media and we have massive displeasure from citizen’s who lives are disrupted by more and more laws and restrictions…

Here’s the important sentence in the whole City Journal article:
“PW’s chief revenue officer, Ed Lynes, told Philadelphia Magazine that, in the city, it is “conservatives who no longer have a voice. If you oppose a socialist and intrusive government, your views are rejected by the city’s mainstream media.”

Well, their mere insight that they are ‘hard left’ is in itself a step in the right direction. It will be interesting to see where they land on the ‘conservative’ side. We wait with interest.
There is nothing avant-guard or alternative or radical in being a leftist. It is the main stream.
Lots of look-at-me-I-am-more-right-wing-than-thou comments on this thread, all unanimously opposed to a conservative outlet starting up in Philadelphia. I see it as a good thing. Everywhere, especially in Canada but also in the U.S., beleaguered people are starved for a conservative viewpoint. For things to change, people will need rallying points against organized crime and mob violence. Since these dangers are being cheered on by the Democrats and the corporate media cartel, resistance will have to come from below.
I think that there is a bit of skepticism in the comments possibly for good reason. A quote from Congressman Willard Duncan Vandiver “I come from a state that raises corn and cotton and cockleburs and Democrats, and frothy eloquence neither convinces nor satisfies me. I am from Missouri. You have got to show me.”
Too little, too late. We are sliding – fast – into a socialist/commie hellhole. Good thing I’m an old guy. Still, the next few years are going to be ugly. After that, I guess I don’t care.
