New York City is home to 118 billionaires, more than any other American city. New York City is also home to nearly one million millionaires, more than any other city in the world. Among those millionaires some 8,865 are classified as “high net worth,” with more than $30 million each.
 
They pay the taxes. The top one percent of NYC taxpayers pay nearly 50 percent of all personal income taxes collected in New York. Personal income tax in the New York area accounts for 59 percent of all revenues. Property taxes add in more than a billion dollars a year in revenue, about half of that generated by office space.

And they’re leaving.

“Give black people back their homes. You’re sitting there comfortably — comfortable as f*** as if you didn’t help gentrify this neighborhood.”

Another person yelled, “I used to live in this neighborhood and my family was pushed out and you’re sitting up there having a good time with your other white friends.”

One protester chimed in claiming that all the residents of the neighborhood work for Amazon, which is headquartered in Seattle.

Hello, my name is Keri and I’m a liberal who is voting for Donald Trump.

A little background, I used to be a “Social Justice Warrior.” For 20 years I was a true believer, who preached this evil ideology, fully convinced that it was the way to end racism and sexism. It took me two decades to realize it IS racism. It IS sexism.

Before the 2016 election, I went down a rabbit hole of videos of Trump supporters being assaulted by people who were supposed to be on my side, who were supposed to be liberals and progressives. I was left in tears, utterly shocked and repulsed. Because the legacy media had not told me this was happening. Matter of fact, they had sold me, and I had bought without sufficient evidence, the opposite narrative.

All bridges along the Chicago River were raised throughout The Loop, according to CBS Chicago.
 
Chicago’s Officer of Emergency Management said on Twitter that streets are closed in the city’s Magnificent Mile shopping district as well as Gold Coast and South Loop neighborhoods. The Illinois State Police also blocked some expressway ramps into downtown.
 
Meanwhile, the Chicago Transit Authority announced that train and bus services to the downtown area were suspended “at the request of public safety officials.”
 
The measures came after mass looting took place in the downtown area, with reports of numerous businesses being ransacked and vehicles set on fire.

Chicago Tribune has more;

Hundreds of people swept through the Magnificent Mile and other parts of downtown Chicago early Monday, smashing windows, looting stores, confronting police and at one point exchanging gunfire with officers, authorities said.
 
The officers had stopped several people on Lake Street near Michigan Avenue when shots were fired from a passing car around 4:30 a.m., nearly five hours into the widespread vandalism, according to police spokesman Tom Ahern. No officers were shot but a squad car was hit, he said. It was not known if anyone in the gunman’s car was shot.
 
Ahern said other officers were injured through the night. Earlier, an officer was seen slumped against a building by Grand and Wabash avenues as other other cops tended to him. It was unclear what had happened to him. Ahern had no details on the injuries.
 
The looting began shortly after midnight as people darted through broken store windows and doors along Michigan Avenue carrying shopping bags full of merchandise. Cars dropped off more people as the crowd grew. At least one U-Haul van was seen pulling up.

Flashback: “I have never seen the likes of this,” Sadlowski-Garza said. “I’m scared.”

Following reports of large parties that violate health orders aimed at slowing the spread of the novel coronavirus, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti announced Wednesday that he will authorize the city to shut off water and power services to residents who hold such gatherings.

Beginning Friday night, if Los Angeles Police Department officers respond to and verify that a large party is occurring at a property, and there’s evidence that the venue has repeatedly engaged in such behavior, the department will request that the city shut off water and power services within 48 hours.
