The political agenda of the transgender community often seems to demand that we be complicit in their convictions, that we humor them, pretend that we view them as the genuine article when in fact they seem to be staging a kind of masquerade, dressing in a costume, playing at make-believe. We are not asked just to follow the humane policy of live and let live, exhibiting acceptance and tolerance as well as fighting for their rights as human beings, but we are required to act as their enablers, enter into their fantasies, protect them from the truth of a devastating fallacy. We are expected both to support them politically, an easy task for most liberals, and affirm their deeply guarded conceptions of selfhood, something that lies well outside the province of the struggle for equal protection under the law–in truth, that lies firmly in the field of counseling or psychotherapy. I know of no other human-rights movement in which supporters are adjured, not only to advocate for the greater civil liberties of a minority, but to aid and reinforce its self-delusions, to guard those who harbor them from the truth.

We will never see a trans-gendered human being completely fulfill all the requirements of their new ‘identity” without medical intervention like hormone therapy or surgery. As we are supposedly seeing and hearing that Bruce Jenner is now having second thoughts about the “hack-n-whack” he has gone through and realizing that it is not all that he had thought it would be. Barn door was left open and the stallion has left the building.
Feelings change and are fleeting. In our “Progressive” world, feelings rule and must be acknowledged, obeyed and never denied…until the new feelings overtake the last feelings.
Our world ran a whole lots smoother and well behaved and organized when principles and statutes were amongst our guiding forces. But then those would just be Conservative values which hold people back from being all that they could be.
I zipped past a medical story somewhere today on the internet, the gist of it was that these disturbed individuals may be sexually excited by the sight, and concept, of themselves disguised as a woman.

It’s still impossible. No matter how many hormones you pump into a person, no matter what surgery you perform to hack off undesired bits or craft new desired ones, a person’s DNA is still going to be XX or XY (and the exceptionally rare cases where there’s a third chromosome). That person will therefore be female or male, the end. Full stop. The person may loathe it, hate it with every fiber of their being, wish desperately that it were not so, but it is an eternal, unchangeable truth about themselves.
I tend to subscribe to the belief that transgenderism is a very serious mental disorder that requires significant psychological treatment. It is certainly not some great new civil rights movement, or at least it would not be if the left in this day & age were not so insane. I suppose it matters not for long; if the left continues to have its way and continues importing the flotsam of the third world, particularly the ME, into civilized society, Islam will impose its own solution to gay & transgender rights on society. The left won’t like it one bit, but then Islam will impose its solution on them too.
This is what you get when you close down institutions and stop admitting those that require it.

Well said, Glacier. It wasn’t all that long ago the American Psychological Association changed their designation of homosexuality from being a mental disorder (if not illness) to “normal”. I suspect they made similar changes to Transgenderism. I fully expect they will soon re-designate Pedophilia as “normal” and “natural”. All logic, reason, and biology has gone out the window. I read, yesterday, that Obama just signed a Federal LAW … requiring all US public schools to allow admittance into restrooms by gender self-identity. I predict a HUGE increase in Catholic school attendance by the TRULY normal and natural humans. We’ve gone completely off the rails.

What about homosexual “marriage”? It’s only a decade since Paul Martin forced this semblance of marriage to be accepted as normal in Canadian law. A consideration of human biology alone makes it obvious that two individuals of the same sex cannot mate in reality, but only in an unnatural, unhealthy fantasy-world.
Try to present that truth today in most polite circles and be prepared to be vigorously attacked, or at best condescendingly pitied, as a bigot, no different from a racist. This poor guy thinks he can now draw the line at accepting the mental illness of transgenderism as normal. Fat chance.
I believe there are millions of “old school” Democrats who don’t agree with this trans thing and allowing anyone to choose, which bathroom/change room they feel like using, any given day.

The so-called evidence for it is flimsy at best. There hasn’t been any proof so far that this condition is caused by anomalous genes.
Many years ago, I heard of a study conducted in the Netherlands that showed that genetic males who went through the process and, who were examined as part of the investigation, had certain brain structures that resembled those of females. But those studies were conducted *after* those men had died. There was no way to establish if those structures existed before those men began their “treatments” or were a consequence. In addition, the sample size was rather small (20 or so, I think), so that may well be statistically invalid.
This whole business, then, is complete twaddle. It’s like a character in Shakespeare’s “All’s Well That Ends Well” being described by the following line:
“He will lie, sir, with such volubility, you would think truth were a fool.”
Abraham Lincoln had situations like this in mind when he asked:

People who are handicapped by gender confusion can continue to use the handicapped washrooms in every public building. Handicapped washrooms are for ALL handicapped minorities.
Anyone who appears to match the gender on the door sign, and quietly goes to a stall, closes the door and does their business without fuss or attracting attention, will likely never be harassed.
This is a non-issue flogged by the media and a few radical activists.
I get the impression that they don’t consider themselves as handicapped. Instead, they believe the rest of society that is, particularly its members who won’t accept that black is white.
What we have, then, is a small minority (less than 1% of the population, maybe?) dictating how the rest should behave. It doesn’t simply seek tolerance but validation and confirmation of how those people perceive themselves to be.

Schools have to allow pupils to use the facilities which “correspond” to how they perceive themselves. All that’s needed is the kid’s say-so–no medical confirmation is required and parents have no say in the matter.
