  7. MND – the irony in Romney’s anti-Trump screed is that it’s brought back to mind the many objections conservatives had about his candidacy in 2012. “RINO, heartless venture capitalist, Romneycare, lack of charisma/fire/likeability,” and he didn’t want to win enough to really FIGHT for it.

    Actually, the fact the Alabama court maintained a March 2015 order that county officials are prohibited from issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples might be a giant middle finger message to the US Supreme Court and reinforces an opinion that Obergefell is a lawless act.

  12. In ten days …. by March 15 ….. we here in the States will have a pretty good idea if the campaign to derail Donald Trump is going to be successful. And a huge negative campaign it is indeed. A veritable cascade of desperate attacks by the establishment, press, and other candidates.
    Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, and Louisiana today (March 5)
    Michigan, Puerto Rico, Mississippi, Hawaii, Idaho (March 8)
    DC, Guam, Wyoming (March 12)
    Florida, Ohio, Illinois, Missouri, North Carolina (March 15)
    The two remaining big states, California (June) and New York (April), are not until later.
    Should be interesting.

For Trudeau to meet his target of reducing Canada’s annual emissions to 17% below 2005 levels by 2020, Canada will have to lower them by at least 127 megatonnes (Mt) annually, the equivalent of shutting down all of our electricity sector (85 Mt) plus half of the building sector (43 Mt), in less than five years.
    To meet Trudeau’s target of reducing emissions to 30% below 2005 levels by 2030, Canada will have to lower its annual emissions by at least 241 Mt, the equivalent of shutting down all of Canada’s oil and gas sector (179 Mt), plus most of the agriculture sector (75 Mt) in less than 15 years.
    Now consider that B.C.’s widely praised, revenue neutral carbon tax of $30 per tonne is predicted to reduce that province’s emissions by only 3 Mt annually by 2020.
    Confronted with these figures, we can see what Trudeau’s real strategy was in Vancouver.
    It was to establish a process to make it look like Canada is meeting its international climate change obligations, as Trudeau promised at the UN climate meeting in Paris in December.
