Since November, the amount of natural gas arriving in Germany from Russia has plunged, driving prices through the roof and draining reserves. These are changes that Gazprom, Russia’s state-controlled energy behemoth, has been regularly pointing out.
“As much as 85 percent of the gas injected in Europe’s underground gas storage facilities last summer is already withdrawn,” Gazprom said on Twitter a couple of weeks ago, adding that “facilities in Germany and France are already two-thirds empty.”
Surely, spring will arrive in time.

If anyone finds themselves freezing in Germany this winter, it’s certainly not those responsible for the damage to Germany’s energy supply. Only the rich willingly vote green. Others point out that despite existing sanctions on Russia, LNG from Russia still graces the shore of the US keeping New England warm during the “cold spots”.
As it turns out the USA cannot import LNG from itself, for legal reasons, and because the LNG companies would make less money.

My Niece married a nice German man and has been raising her family there for many years. Oh! And she is employed by the UN IPCC as an “expert” on global warming factoids. She is a really lovely young woman. Loving, smart, nice as can be. I really love her to pieces.
But I sincerely hope she and her “good German husband” struggle to heat their recently remodeled home. I hope they feel the economic pain. However, they are both high-earners … so I doubt they’ll even notice higher gas prices or heating prices.
There’s the rub. These self-induced energy crises, all due to pseudo-science and computer models, drive up energy costs for those least able to absorb them. The working poor and pensioners are the ones who always suffer.
As far as I am concerned, the IPCC is a criminal organization, perverting the scientific method willingly, for political reasons. Anyone who works for them is complicit in this deceit and the misery they create.

A friend of my was a business consultant who used to go to Poland and teach. The ruskies supplied the Polaks with gas. Putin was pissed with the Poles for some reason and he’d shut off the gas intermittently. My buddy spent the winter there and said the heat would come on for a few hours every day. Just enough to stop the building from freezing.
The Germans should take note.
