Zerohedge- More Than Half Of China’s Provinces Are Now ‘Rationing’ Electricity, Governors Demand More Coal Imports To Resolve Crisis
Here’s something you’ll never hear in the Western world.
Han said companies must satisfy their “social responsibilities” and “overcome the difficulties” caused by elevated coal prices.

No more cheap Australian Coal.
Someone needs to tell the Chinese that there are millions of tons under the Gulf of St Lawrence off Cape Breton Island. I have no idea how many tons were used during WW2 to make steel for the war effort. Working would be better than welfare.
An addition to my last comment. The coal fired generating plants in Cape Breton use PA coal as far as I know. Tons under the ground but they import coal. That is the liberal socialist way.
I worked on a $10 Million Dollar tunnel boring machine back in the late 80’s
that was supposedly sold to the province to extract that coal
Shit disturber. LOL.
Social responsibility is not a motivator in free markets, otherwise they would be giving shit away. Stupid communists.
Yeah, that war with China will be a short one if they can’t keep the lights on without imported coal.
No western country should be selling coal, wheat, pigs, chickens soy beans or any foodstuff to China. Let them eat real estate and freeze in the dark.
One sure way to get any army of millions to walk through your country, try and starve them.
Won’t be our country they walk through. Russia’s Siberian shield will hold, the Chinese don’t have the ability to invade Japan, India would be a very difficult war, and SE Asia? What’s the point? A billion Chinese waging war against some of the most resource-poor countries in the world doesn’t sound too bad to me.
Are you sure about that-I seem to remember Ukraine, and Germany 1944. they tend to have other things on their mind.
They have over2 Million Urgars in retraining camps they can eat
and those Mussies multiply like rabbits, so a constant supply of meat eh?
lolol
I can’t help feeling this is not a real crisis so much as a social engineering tool. Manitoba announced recently that due to the drought they have stop exporting hydro electricity to make sure they have enough for us over the winter. I am expecting this hydro shortage and intermittent power outages to become a regular event here too. For one thing, they can’t get parts for the machines without months of waiting.
Justin..
What’s the status of the New KEEYASK GENERATING Station near Thompson..??
I worked on that project in 2018/2019….curious if its up n running..
It is not running yet. They got shut down several times with COVID outbreaks. We’re being told water levels are so low in the rivers up there, especially the Nelson, that we must hold water back by not running exports of hydro to get through winter. It smells bad to me.
Compared to we used to make it here.
And have storage buildings for spare parts.
Just in time supply chain, really sucks.
Back in the 1990’s…
You actually wrote letters to the CEO of Manitoba hydro and their engineers.
So proud of his massive turbine.
I told him to move towards the center and try to move it…
I created an inverted turbines as friction is the fatal flaws.
If I remember right, they got themselves some Soviet Soyuz turbines.
Had trouble with them from the beginning.
Just a case of communists helping out socialists.
Justin, why not limit exports of hydro power when local demand must be filled, otherwise fire away? It’s not like the hydro power can
be stored anywhere, can it?
No, hydro power can’t be stored power.
It can create greater torque than wind turbines can due to water having weight and exerted atmospheric pressure.
Many different ways you could use the torque but our politicians have no use for efficient power as big companies have no interest in this route as they’ve created their own customer base of needing their products to function.
I was advised by the German company on this.
Well it can be stored in the form of storing water. The story is the water levels on the Nelson River are so low that the reseviors are close to empty. Therefore you close as many gates and turbines as you can down to store the water only opening things up enough for local supply. It still feels very weird to me.
Its stored behind the dam wall itself in the reservoir. ‘Hydro’ power is really just gravitational potential energy contained in a tall column of water . . .
They buy up large supplies of PPE and then give the world COVID. Let them freeze and starve in the dark
Yep, good to know we’re paying higher and higher carbon taxes while China is cranking up coal use. Suckers.
China says me first to soon to be Sino peasants, before the Chinese economy implodes under command economy despotism.
Lackeys’ paymasters are just beginning to pull the financial rug from under the useful but only temporarily enriched idiots.
“At the center of the scramble is China, where stockpiles are low and demand is at an all-time high. Meanwhile, coal use in Europe is expect to increase through winter amid lower renewable power output, record-high natural gas prices and planned closures of nuclear reactors. India’s massive fleet of coal plants is running dangerously low on stockpiles, with more than half of the nation’s plants with less than a week of inventories.”
European coal has risen to a 13-year high, and Australian Newcastle coal has surged by 250 per cent from last September to within range of the record set in 2008.”
A few months ago, Chinese buyers were on the sidelines of the spot market, complaining about prices being too high and noting that they could weather the storm with domestic inventories, according to traders with knowledge of the matter. Now those buyers are singing a different tune, as power plant operators have turned frantic, asking traders and importers to source overseas cargoes, they said.”

India’s massive fleet of coal plants is running dangerously low on stockpiles, with more than half of the nation’s plants with less than a week of inventories. All hail the climate change criminals, hypocrites and rent seekers.

More Than Half Of China’s Provinces Are Now ‘Rationing’ Electricity
Ohhhhhhh … I thought they were talking about half of California’s Counties!??
Same problem … different People’s Republic
Chuckle. Next up Ontario.
Hurry things along and nuke em.
Anyone know of companies in North America still manufacturing coal-burning furnaces for the home?
