1. “I certainly didn’t mean to offend anybody. The use of the swastika was simply aligning the Harper government’s policies with the Nazis. The fact is, Harper has violated virtually every element of his platform which is taking away the freedoms and rights of all Canadians, especially the disabled and elderly. All Canadians, but especially the Atlantic Provinces, should be absolutely irate over the latest budget and announcements which are continuing to oppress the poorer provinces. That is why I used the swastika. There are no religious connotations, there is no anti-Semitism, there are no ethnic attacks, there is no racism… Just the suggestion that Canadian politics is heading toward fascism.”

If you’re going to apologize then apologize. Don’t say “I’m sorry. By the way Harper is still a facist.” That just makes matters worse.

2. But it is OK when we, progressives, use the Nazi label, it is only bad if you conservatives, taxpayers and producers dare compare the power grab by the parasites to the rise of the Nazis.
Funny how handing provincial responsibilities back to provincial jurisdiction is a fascist act.
Libtards, you can tell they lie by the movement of their lips.

3. “That is why I used the swastika. There are no religious connotations, there is no anti-Semitism, there are no ethnic attacks, there is no racism…”
Translation – I wasn’t attacking one of our protected victim groups, I was slandering conservatives. Why has everyone gotten their panties in a bunch.

4. Well if PM Harper reverted Kitchener, Ontario back to BERLIN, Ontario, started herding Jews around, got the CF to adopt the ‘goosestep’ march, and began invading other countries for plunder and pillage, like Putin, and made loud calls about how he admires dictatorship, a al Justin Trudeau, it might have been funny; now its merely grotesquely stupid.
BUT NO PM Harper has peacefully visited South Korea to sign a free trade deal because the cartoonist believes Canada is somehow lead by a raving RACIST!
Cartoons are funny because they contain an element of truth and lampoon it, here the cartoonist ‘jumps the shark’, because it bears no relation to the actual state of affairs.
The protestors in Ukraine were at least funny when they held up placards of PUTIN sporting a mustache with the moniker: “PUTLER KAPUTT!”

5. He need not bother to apologize, you cannot apologize for something like that and call it case closed. He has offended the memory of all those who suffered under it,those who fought and died for his damned rights and freedoms because of Hitler’s Nazi cruelties to humanity, he needs a few lessons in history.

6. The Liberal left hates Jews and common sense, so they’ll vote totalitarian every time.
That they’ll vote totalitarian every time, should in itself prove to Harper that he’s on the right track with every meally mouthed, mean spirited, void of intelligent opinion garbage that they throw at him.

7. Justin’s Daddy tooled around on a motorcycle wearing a Nazi helmet during WWII.
Now that would make a funny cartoon, wouldn’t it?
Tie it in about how much like Daddy Justin is, eh?
I think I might laugh just picturing it, yes I might, he he.

8. “The cartoon was simply meant as a satire, or exaggeration, on Harper’s Economic Action Plan…”
So will the “Cartoonist’ draw a picture of Obamba wearing a white K.K.K pointy hood outfit and ask “What National Defence Authorization Act”?
Maybe wearing the same “satire, or exaggeration” K.K.K costume Obamba happily says “Over 50 million black babies served for the Democrat Party”.
Hmmm didn’t think so.

9. The unnamed “cartoonist” should be asked for examples of how PMSH’s economic policies resemble those of the Nazis. It’s a pretty safe bet that he (or she) would be completely stuck for an answer. I seriously doubt if the cartoonist has any knowledge whatsoever of the economic policies of Mr. Harper, Nazis or, for that matter, communists, Freemasons or Klingons. Just another ignorant idiot who is better left ignored and whose apology is just as useless as the issuer.
On more than one occaision, I have heard the Prime Minister described as a dictator. When asked for an example, those that made the accusation were never able to provide one other than they had heard or seen it somewhere.

10. “All Canadians, but especially the Atlantic Provinces, should be absolutely irate over the latest budget and announcements which are continuing to oppress the poorer provinces.”
The Conservatives oppress them with $ billions. When Quebec goes, let’s give them the Atlantic provinces to ethnically cleanse.

11. It wasn’t a Nazi helmet,it was the WW1 type,I believe it’s called a “pickelhaube”. Hans?

12. We regret that the cartoon was not received in the spirit with which it was intended.
They not only don’t apologize, they shift the blame to the reader for being so stupid as to receive the cartoon in the wrong ‘spirit’. Whatever the hell that means…

13. Such wit, humor, the intellectual aplomb, the mastery of the bon mot! Yes, this rapier thrust, scintillating evocation of the graphic arts, brings us to the very heights of the left’s intellectual Paranassus: “I don’t like you; you’re a Nazi. Nyeeeeah! Ppphhhlbbbt!”
Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you on experience.

At least my grandfather wasn’t one of those “faux imitation Huns” like Daddy Trudeau; he belonged to this unit and picked up 3 Iron Crosses for his efforts:

But what can one seriously say about those who fail to show up for the living or the dead?

15. Steve said: “People get taken to Human Rights tribunals for publishing cartoons like these.”
No, people get taken to human rights tribunals for RE-publishing cartoons like this that somebody else already published in Europe. But only if it was about Muslims.
No one has -ever- gone before a human rights tribunal for publishing something despicable and untrue about Conservatives or about Christians, or about White people. Ever.
The cartoon actually is funny, but given that the CPC’s policies are the least Nazi-like of any party currently in power in Canada, what’s funny is how historically ignorant the cartoonist is.
You want to see a Nazi, go take a look at Weird Beard the NDPee doofus. Take the NDPee policy book and print it out in German, you’ll be instantly transported back to 1936. Back to the Future!

16. He was. He was also other things, but he was a socialist philosophically. After he eliminated the Socialist Party (literally) he adopted all their programs.

17. Wow!! Has anyone read the ‘comments’ at that site? According to the majority of opinion in those comments PMSH really is a Nazi dictator.
Is Pictou under a rock?
Apparently PMSH wipes himself with the flag everyday! Who knew?

18. Yep, Harper is a National Socialist all right. Wherever would that notion come from?
What an idiotic cartoon.

19. The only thing stronger and more profound than unapologetic “progressive’ ignorance is unapologetic progressive hatred… this slanderous insultingly ignorant cartoon serves as a prime example.

20. I can only imagine the type of distorted narrative the people of Pictou are subjected to if this is what passes for the informed opinion of the press in their community.
Aside from the fact that the cartoon displays a total lack of knowledge about history and politics, the author’s trite dismissal of the horrors of authoritarian socialist tyranny is an affront to anyone who lost loved ones in the many socialist pogroms which murdered 300 million in the last century.
The man should not be let off with an unrepentant apology, he should be subjected to the public ridicule such a fool rightfully deserves.

21. bluetech asks the musical question: “Is Pictou under a rock?”
Let’s just say they vote their entitlements. Because there’s not much going on in Pictou beyond the beer store, the hotel and the welfare office.
Ever wonder why there’s so many Newfs and etc. on the oil rigs out West? Do a Google Streetview, its an education.
The Conservative Wave started out West, rolled up over Ontario, kind of went around Toronto, and crashed to a stop on the Quebec border. The Maritimes and Quebec still lives or dies on “aid” from Ottawa. Otherwise known as vote-buying. Its the Shiny Pony’s last hope.

22. If there has ever been an example of why PM Harper struggles to bring the Federal bureaucrats up to speed on the need to provide a Canadian aspect to the teaching of Canada’s history this cartoon by an obvious ignoramus and an even more ignorant Editorial Board of a small mind, small town media qualifies in the top ten.
I used to concern myself about Nova Scotia; New Brunswick; and P.E.I. (the entitled population of this Province is too small to rate more than three letters).
When hopefully Quebec goes on its own. P.E.I can just hitch itself to the Gaspe as the Separate New Nation sails away from Upper and Western Canada. This group of political gamers; 130,000 people, smaller than almost any other City government in Canada can and probable will wait when Quebec sails away from Canada, this time P.E.I.wait for a decade and try to negotiate another entitled situation as it did when Canada became a nation.
Fortunately, as it chooses whether to join a New Canada and the New Canada chooses to accept this three letter group of political gamers, the three letter groupies will only be able to join with a much reduced amount of political bargaining power
When a Premier states it is necessary to increase the birthrate of New Brunswick in order to increase the federal subsidy, my concern for New Brunswick went to cement understanding to match the New Brunswick political Lead-dership thinking. This actually goes to the old —-EE and the old—-or situation. Guess who will be who in the New Canada? It won’t be a New anything province just a Brunswick a name going back to “I am entitled” thinking.
Brunswick has a difficult choice when they either 1/. try to use the mega-million connecting bridge to the three letter gamers and hook up with the sailing past Quebec or split their pleading ground in two to find a method of staying with the English speaking New Canada.
I spent much of my five year military career in Nova Scotia. It was still a New Scotia then, fifty years ago, hard working people trying to maintain a once healthy export economy. Still too proud to put their hand out, still proud to be Blue Nosers, but then they watched the proud people of Newfoundland knuckle under to the Liberal buy of their independence and when they saw the three letter groupies finagle excessive funding built on the backs of Upper and Western Canadians the Scotians also threw in the towel.
Denigrate the working people of the country; follow the progressive meme of the Captured Broadcasting Corporation. Run a despicable cartoon,(don’t tell me this cartoon was printed without Editorial approval). Then when caught trying to grab the attention of the Captured Broadcasting Company the Editors recognizing where the real news jobs are paid lots of Taxpayer money they just blow the concern off.
No Scotians! there is nothing Nova about you now. You are just another group of easterners with your hand out. Hold on to the north or southern part of Brunswick and makes your choice. Upper and Western Canada is weary and p o’d of the whole lot of you.

23. “..continuing to oppress the poorer provinces.”
That’s how people think when they’ve been on welfare all their lives. They don’t know what poverty or oppression is. As Kathy at 5 Feet Of Fury says “the poor are the rich that Jesus warned us about.”

24. If its just a demonstration eh?
Alrighty then…
I guess I’ll just take a similar jab at Queens Park by drawinga picture of that structure with rainbow flag emblazoned with a swastika… just to show the alignment of Katheline Wynne’s government.
We’re good right?

25. rainbow flag emblazoned with a swastika…
Now that’s a flag I’d like to see flying. That would get the progressive lefties’ panties in such a tight knot. It would be fun to watch them squirm.

26. This is what the result of Pierres paternalistic Liberalism looks like, now we will find out how much damage his offspring can do, after all he has daddies arrogance and mommies brains. What could possibly go wrong?

27. The damage is done. The smug piece of crap can cross his arms and chuff off an apology (if you wish to call it that) but he knows his childish, non-factual smear has done its work.
What does one expect from a talentless wonder?

28. Seems that the parasites are upset. Not sure what kind of “oppression” is taking place here but I do know that the Atlantic provinces contain the greatest number of parasites/capita of any place outside of Quebec.
Haven’t seen any work camps setup in the Atlantic provinces which would be the case if similar policies towards parasites were being utilized by the Conservative government as the Nazi’s. Also, Hitlers Germany had a very low opinion of “useless eaters” and eliminated them – no news of this happening in the Atlantic provinces.
Actually the only Nazi policies that are being promulgated in Canada are by the “progressives” with their anti-smoking policies and workplace regulations which prohibit workers from being exposed to cancer causing chemicals. Such “public health” measures were first implemented in Nazi Germany and the current anti-smoking campaign is closely modeled on that in 1930’s Germany. Aside from prohibiting racially pure Germans from working with cancer causing chemicals in order to prevent damage to their precious germ-plasm and using untermenschen to perform the work instead, workplace regulations differ little from 1930’s Germany. It’s a good idea to keep reminding moonbats that they have far more in common with Nazi’s than Conservatives and Libertarians.
It’s time to end the multigenerational parasitism that exists in the Atlantic provinces and it’s clear that many of the inhabitants view parasitism as a way of life. I have no interest in supporting parasites and, given that even minor changes to payouts to the parasites bring out extreme commentary, bring back the work camps for parasites.

29. They ain’t no “Nazi” helmet….period. They was no Nazi’s creeping about in 1916……
Stahlhelm is German for “steel helmet”. The Imperial German Army began to replace the traditional boiled-leather Pickelhaube (spiked combat helmet) with the Stahlhelm during World War I in 1916. The term Stahlhelm refers both to a generic steel helmet, and more specifically to the distinctive (and iconic) German design.
The design of the Stahlhelm was carried out by Dr. Friedrich Schwerd of the Technical Institute of Hanover. In early 1915, Schwerd had carried out a study of head wounds suffered during trench warfare and submitted a recommendation for steel helmets, shortly after which he was ordered to Berlin. Schwerd then undertook the task of designing and producing a suitable helmet[3] broadly based on the 15th century sallet, which provided good protection for the head and neck.[4]
After lengthy development work, which included testing a selection of German and Allied headgear, the first Stahlhelms were tested in November 1915 at the Kummersdorf Proving Ground and then field tested by the 1st Assault Battalion. Thirty thousand examples were ordered, but it was not approved for general issue until New Year 1916, hence it is most usually referred to as the “Model 1916”. In February 1916 it was distributed to troops at Verdun, following which the incidence of serious head injuries fell dramatically.
Yeah I plagerized that several sources….

30. “Stahlhelm is German for ‘steel helmet’. Not only that but most of the modern Kevlar and composite helmets now favoured by armies across the world (even the Russians and Chinese these days) have been influenced by the head and neck protection features incorporated in the – Stahlhelm.

31. Just to be clear here, what he’s saying is “I didn’t mean to offend the wrong type of people.”
Because otherwise, he’s saying that he meant to call the Harper government Nazis, but he doesn’t understand what’s offensive about that.
I suppose that would probably explain a lot.
